Welcome to your 2016 Christian Guild Holidays & Breaks brochure. What a year it is going to be! We continue to celebrate 100 years of Christian Guild in 2016 with our final celebration event taking place at Abbot Hall Hotel during the Easter holiday period in March 2016. I do hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us for this very special celebration event. As you will see as you peruse our brochure, we continue to offer fantastic value themed breaks and holidays which we trust will encourage you to stay with us. We continue with our concept of Stay As You Please. This is an ideal way of staying at one of our hotels, enjoying all that Christian Guild has to offer, with the flexibility to explore the surrounding area and destinations to suit your own tastes, at your own pace and leisure. I am pleased to report that Stay As You Please continues to grow in popularity and we are now offering even better value holidays for guests who choose to join us on a Stay As You Please break during the winter months and at certain times throughout the year. We continue to invest significant funds in all our hotels and this will be ongoing in 2016 where our focus will be on bedroom upgrade schemes across all hotels, thus further advancing our commitment to provide the best in Christian hospitality. Our Holidays Further Afield are ‘back by popular demand’, with a holiday to the Isles of Scilly and a walking holiday to the Black Forest in Germany. We also continue our relationship with Riviera Travel and offer two special breaks to Paris and Bruges, alongside all their other holidays. We are delighted to be working again with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and Angela Holidays in 2016. It continues to be an exciting time of opening the doors of our venues to a wider range of holidaymakers and sharing, with all who visit, the best in Christian hospitality. We love to introduce new ideas, and we also like to continue those that are a success. So, for 2016, we’re extending our fantastic Early Payment Discount deal. THEMED Packages

NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS

If you have a hobby or want to try a new experience, then our themed breaks are renowned for offering a fun-packed holiday.

If you holiday alone, you’ll know that many hotels and holiday companies add a supplement to the advertised price if you’re on your own. But not at Christian Guild as we have a number of single rooms at each hotel, and at certain times of the year we have double and twin rooms as well without a single supplement.

You can choose what you do on a themed break too. So if you decide to visit a local tourist attraction during your stay, that’s up to you – you’re not obliged to take part in every activity because it’s all about you doing what you enjoy when you take a well-earned break. If you decide to try a themed break, then you’ll get a much better deal if you opt for our package price. Book your break and your accommodation together and it’s cheaper than booking separately. It means you can enjoy high quality accommodation and all the cost of excursions, tuition, materials and even, in some cases, packed lunches are paid for in advance of your holiday. It’s a great way to save on your stay. The brochure package prices are for standard en-suite accommodation; just contact the hotels if you would like a different accommodation option. Everyone is welcome to join a themed break as a day visitor. However, please be aware that there will be additional costs and places are limited.

And it’s no different with Christian Guild, where you are able to enjoy the luxury of our 15-metre pools at four of our hotels. Whether you want to unwind on an evening, or want to take your children for a bit of an early splash, our swimming pools are ideal. With a depth of just 1.4 metres, adults and children alike can enjoy the wonderful pools. For the younger children, we also offer shallow pools, so no-one need miss out. Those who prefer not to get their feet wet can still enjoy the serene setting with poolside seating and comfortable spectator viewing areas. With free towels for everyone, you really can relax no matter what the weather!

Christian Guild Terms & Conditions HOTEL BOOKING CONDITIONS a) Terms are per person per night, inclusive of VAT. b) Half Board includes dinner, bed and breakfast from evening meal on day of arrival to breakfast on day of departure. No allowance can be made for meals not taken. c) Special diets or other requirements will, whenever possible be catered for if Managers are informed when booking. d) No single room supplement is charged. However, the number of single rooms is limited and we reserve the right to restrict the number of double or twin rooms allowed for single occupancy. e) Guests unable to vacate the premises by themselves, in case of emergency, must be accompanied by friends or relatives. f) Car parking is entirely at the owner’s risk. g) Dogs or other pets cannot be taken in the hotels, with the exception of registered assistance dogs for people with disabilities. h) We ask our customers not to bring or consume their own alcoholic drinks on the premises. i) Bookings should be made with the hotel of your choice. A non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per adult (£10 per child 5 years and over) per week or part thereof, is due with each booking, payments accepted by cheque, credit/debit card. Full payment is due one calendar month prior to the commencement of your stay. The deposit per lodge is £100; see lodge booking conditions below. j) Credit card payments will incur an additional charge of 1.5% k) Bookings generally can only be accepted for a type of room, eg. Superior, En-suite or Non en-suite. Specific room requests will be considered, however this will be subject to availability and Hotel Management agreement.

Acceptance of a booking with specific room request will incur a fee of £15 per room per week. (Not applicable to disability friendly bedrooms). l) VAT at 20% is included in the terms shown but will be charged at any changed rate applicable at the time of payment for the holiday. m) We reserve the right to alter our published Terms in extreme circumstances including changes in taxation. n) If in exceptional circumstances, we find that we are unable to offer the accommodation booked, a full refund will be given unless alternative accommodation is agreed. o) If we have to make a significant change or cancel a themed break we will tell you as soon as possible. You will be offered an alternative holiday or receive a full refund. Where our liability is limited we will not pay any expenses, costs or losses you may incur as a result of any change or cancellation. No compensation is payable for minor changes or where we cancel or make a significant change before the date of the balance of your holiday costs falls due. Minor changes do not entitle you to cancel or change to another holiday without paying our normal charges. p) The company reserves the right to charge guests for all damage to hotel property. q) Unless otherwise stated, quoted Package Prices are for standard en-suite accommodation. Package prices for other accommodation types are available and will vary accordingly. LODGE BOOKING CONDITIONS The above hotel booking conditions apply as appropriate to lodge bookings. Terms are per lodge per night, inclusive of VAT, on a self-catering basis with a minimum stay of three nights except as indicated elsewhere in this brochure. The deposit payable per lodge is £100 and payments should be made in accordance with our hotel booking conditions.

Holidays Further Afield CONDITIONS Please see the separate conditions for these holidays on the booking form. BOOKINGS All bookings should be made direct to the hotel of your choice. INSURANCE When you book a holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract, which, if cancelled or curtailed, will incur a cancellation charge. The company does not offer any form of holiday insurance or cancellation cover. As a Christian organisation we feel it important, and would strongly recommend, that all guests comprehensively insure their holiday against all eventualities with an insurer of their choice. Guests from outside the UK must be covered by adequate insurance covering cancellation, sickness, accident or other misfortune. CANCELLATION Should you, or any member of your party, be forced to cancel your booking for any reason you should notify the manager of the hotel concerned in writing at the earliest opportunity, enclosing any relevant and supporting documentation. A cancellation will take effect from the date written notice is received by the company. Cancellations will incur the following payments: • One calendar month or more before arrival: Deposit only. • Less than one calendar month before arrival: Two thirds. • Less than 48 hours before arrival: Full cost of holiday (no refund). Deposits are non-refundable. All refund amounts detailed above will be calculated after deduction of the deposit paid. If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your holiday insurance policy you may be able to reclaim these charges.
