Eating potatoes All the people are eating potatoes ,almost 2 days per week. But do you know what you are actually eating and how bad or good is this for your health? Did you know that a potato with an egg is the healthiest thing to eat ,even from the most fresh meat!?That’s because it has lot of starch and then it is more digestible. BUT, if you fry them it is the worst vegetable!!!The most... central reason of this, is that the oil “sticks” on the potatoes and then it fulls them with fats which are bad for our heart…!

Potato is a very healthy food and that's why it is included in the basic diet in Greece. There are many recipies with potato that we can easily cook and we have to eat it on a regular basis according to the food pyramid. Of course, limits are always necessary!

Potatoes Everyone knows how delicious the potatoes are! Now let’s see how healthy they are‌

Potatoes are considered -apart from an important source of starch- and a good source of vitamin C and protein. In fact, if they are served with an egg, their biological value, the quality of their protein, goes up a lot. It is better to boil the potatoes with the peel to reduce the losses in vitamin C. The disadvantage of fried potatoes is that they have a large amount of fried oil.

As we can see potatoes are in the second part of the food pyramid so we have to eat them usually 3-4 times per week.
