Stage(s) : Conceptual Design - Construction

Sitting on a 680-sq.m coastal plot, this three-storey villa project includes a basement and roof deck, 4 bedrooms, 7 baths, 3 kitchens, and a 5-car parking. The preliminary interior design brief incorporates a fusion of new classic and modern luxury styles along the entrance, french classical revival style on the guest suite (which covers one entire floor), and a simple new classic style for the bedrooms. Involvement encompasses the conceptual interior design, architectural design development, tender and construction supervision.m

Spaces : Roadside (Front) & Seaside (Rear) Landscape

Floor Area : 175 sq.m

Simple residential landscape design incorporating various client-preferred plant species, such as olive trees, birds of paradise, zz plants, bamboo, palm trees, ferns, succulents, hanging plants and shrubs.m

Spaces : Infinity Pool Deck with Sea View

5-Car Residential Basement Parking

Floor Areas : 75 sq.m (Pool), 263 sq.m (Parking)i

The shaded pool deck serves as an transitory space towards the waters of the pool, the sea and beyond. It also allows to for an inside-outside feel without overpowering the elegant interiors and breathtaking coastal views.m

The basement parking was also designed in modern contemporary style, but with extra gloss and extra lux levels that make the cars appear shiny and luxurious. The glossy painted walls and ceiling serve as a room divider that distinguishes the driveway from the parking slots, and the cement-effect plaster offers a visually textured contrast.m

Both spaces happen to share one similar element: half-arch lighting. To which the pool deck would be illuminated by recessed slender flexible LED strip profiles, while the parking would have thicker suspended linear light. This array of illuminated half-arches gives depth leading the the spaces further back.m

Space : Living Area

Floor Area : 40 sq.m

As part of the high-ceiling open-concept plan located on the entrance, this living area has a curtain wall view of the sea in the south and a low view of softscape ground in the east, which appears as an extension to the Crema Marfil marble slab flooring. The white-and-gold new classic style has been prevalent to majority of the spaces within this villa. Responsibilities involve design and 3D visualization, room detail drawings, site supervision of civil and electrical works to be in line with the interior design, as-built meas securing client approvals for materials, preparation of breakdown of quantities, reaching out and negotiating with local and international suppliers for furniture, lighting, marble and gypsum.b

Floor Area : 53 sq.m

Proposed simple new classic bedroom design with decorative gypsum plaster wall mouldings on ivory cream walls, Crema Marfil marble slab flooring, gold hardware in furniture and lighting, and striplighting of steps for visual safety and aesthetic detail transitioning from the sleeping area to the walk-in closet area. The proposed U-shaped walk-in closet comes with transparent glass hinged doors on both sides and mirrored glass hinged doors in the middle side which adds illusory depth to the space, as well as functionally serve as vanity mirror. Responsibilities involved interior design and 3D visualization, room detail drawings, site supervision of civil and electrical works to be in line with the interior design, as-built measuring, securing client approvals for materials, preparation of breakdown of quantities, reaching out and negotiating with local and international suppliers for furniture (Bahrain & Italy), lighting (Bahrain, Italy & China), marble (Italy & Spain) and gypsum (Bahrain), and visiting furniture suppliers based in Masko and Modoko sites in Istanbul, Turkey.m

Space : Guest Bedoom with Walk-in Closet

Floor Area : 25 sq.m

Inspired by the white and gold new classic design, this proposed full toilet and bath is clad with Calacatta Macchia Vecchia porcelain slabs throughout all walls and floor and goldplated decorative Grade 316 Stainless Steel sheet on niche walls (trim on floor and ceiling). The bathtub serves as a statement piece of the room where one may have stretched views of the stilldeveloping urban neighborhood while bathing. Responsibilities involved conceptual design and 3D visualization, toilet detail drawings, site supervision to ensure that the civil works and MEP works are in line with the interior design intent, securing client approvals and procurement of material finishes and sanitarywares.m

BUSINESS CENTRE

Stage(s) : Conceptual Design - Submission

A three-storey business centre on a 860-sq.m plot which offers simple yet premium offices that offer privacy and view of the Gulf traditional style-inspired developed properties within Diyar al Muharraq. The building envelope of the proposed architectural design is already covered with adequate vegetation on all four sides so it will be easier to incorporate biophilic design and provide feasible offices at the same time.m

A multi-textural white space with biophilic-inspired patterned carpet tiles and wood doors that complement with the outside vegetation viewed from the glass curtain wall.m

An 8-pax closed office surrounded by walls clad with full-height wood laminate panels for a simple contemporary and biophilic look.m

Spaces : Pantry, FE Stair & Server Room

Floor Areas : 15 sq.m (Pantry), 23 sq.m (Stair), 6 sq.m (Server)l

Functional and practical spaces that are well-illuminated and offers a hint beyond the basic. The pantry area is a little but small to cater to more than 20 people so the grey kitchen door panels provide for an illusory depth to the space, while emphasizing the counter niche space. The mirrored cupboard allows to expand the ceiling plane within the room. The fire exit stair looks nothing of the usual, with fire-rated wood railing and two-tone walls. The server room looks very simple yet futuristic with black-and-white combination. TOUCH & FEEL

Project : Muharraq Souq

Floor Areas : - sq.ml

Implementation of photovoltaic Solar Panels in semiclosed public areas/souks/centers in Bahrain would be such an advantage because of many aspects such as the ideal weather, high-demand of energy during summer, and the urge to limit the pressure on the oil reserves. These buildings are horizontal with a huge footprint which gives a big surface area for solar panels. The project is to shade these public places using PV panels and to produce energy for the building at the same time.m

While it’s true that bigger is better when it comes to the surface area coverage of the solar panels, the idea of eventually having a bigger project that’s divided into multiple phases came into mind in order to mitigate project risks. The launching phase begins with an addition of 200-meter-long shed infrastructure with built-in solar panels above the alleys of Muharraq Souq, alongside incorporating low-tech architecture simply by specifying natural vernacular materials as seen prevalent among traditional ‘areesha’ lightweight structures.m

This presentation has been submitted to the EU Bahrain Urban Hackathon held on June 26th-28th, 2022.m

Project : INJAP Tower Iloilo

Floor Area : - sq.m

The 21-storey hotel completed its construction and required a full as-built documention of its architectural amd engineering systems before the issuance of occupancy permits to resume business operations. m

Software used: AutoCAD

Located in the most prime location in Ayala Makati CBD (Central Business District), Dusit Thani Manila gave a greenlight for the 8th-10th floor hotel renovation after the preceding 5th-7th office renovation. The said renovation gives a more modern update of the hotel rooms and hallways, and the renovation project also covers both the east and west wings of the tower.m

The entire front-of-the house areas within 8th, 9th and 10th floors of the hotel were inspected if the execution is in line with the design intent. Photodocumentation was duly prepared for any defects and unacceptable works found in all interior elements.m

Project : 3-Storey Office Mixed-Use Building

Floor Area : - sq.m

Located within the Riverfront development with Davao City, this three-storey mixed-use development consists of three commercial spaces on the ground floor for leasing, one floor entirely dedicated for open-plan office spaces, one floor for office housing, and a roof deck. The building concept is inspired with the nature surrounding it, by applying some biophilic strategies into the building facade through green walls and glazed curtain walls that reflect trees around it.m

Project : 5-Storey Residential Building

Floor Area : 1,240 sq.m

A simple modern contemporary building with window openings facing east. Located in a dense city district. The plot has a mildly sloped grade where basement is easily accessible on the north while invisibly private from the south.m

This proposed retirement home complex is composed of 22 threestorey building blocks with shared basement parking. Located in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, Philippines, this assisted living development offers a laidback meditative lifestyle not only for elderly people but also for staff and visitors.m

Project : 5-Storey Store Safe Building

A warehouse space rental development clad with EIFS panels and is located right in the middle of the city. Responsibilities involved 3D visualization and preparation of submission and construction drawings.m

Project : 2-Storey Private Residence

Stage : Conceptual Design

Located in Nigeria, this proposed design of a house features a grand lobby with an insideoutside feel while boasting a landscaped water feature with a gazebo. From the lobby which is at the center of the plan, the rest of the house is divided into 2 wings. On the ground floor, the left wing serves as a ‘guest wing’ while the right wing consists of a study room, dining area and kitchen. On the second floor, the right wing consists of a family hall and 2 bedrooms, while the master bedroom occupies the entire left wing.m

Project : Sports & Country Clubhouse

Floor Area : - sq.m

Located in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines, this clubhouse features a 9-hole public golf course, driving range, training facility, cafe, restaurant and clubhouse access. This venue also hosted 2012 Asia Cup. The renovation project scope included facade renovation, interior fit-out and refinishing of the pool areas. Briefly took part of this project with the as-built team to measure all the built areas within the plot.m

Project : 3-Storey Private Residence Stage : Conceptual

A modern contemporary house with walls inspired from the rusticated brutalist period that makes the structure more climate-resilient as it lies embedded within a very steep graded plot on a hilltop with the suburban city views. The house is basically wrapped around with retaining walls on three sides, and the acrylic cantilevered swimming pool is a bonus.m
