The basics of our business are being completely reinvented. Now we need to enable people to communicate easily whether they’re near or far. Without getting caught up in complex uses, we need straightforward ideas that will improve day-to-day communications for Orange’s 225 million customers.

communicating differently with friends and family it’s life-changing! Orange spearheaded the new joyn standard that will enable voice and data to converge. Thanks to joyn, you can access a clear interface in one click, instantly initiating an open chat or a closed conversation with one or more contacts. At the same time, you can switch to a video call or share what you’re looking at with the other people on the line. While you’re connected, you can share all kinds of things: photos and videos as you take them, or documents that you’ve already stored in your memory bank. It’s quick and easy to use: no installation or ID or conﬁguration needed.

but how does it work? Joyn is a 3-in-1 interpersonal communication service: it combines the functions of a voice and video call with the option to share photos and videos during your connection, and a chat system with status updates and ﬁle sharing capabilities. This service will be natively integrated into our new compatible terminals, which means the user does not have to create a special account or use a password.

and when will it be available? Orange will be the ﬁrst operator in France to offer joyn mobile terminals, starting in summer 2013.

LibOn

the next generation communications and messaging app it’s life-changing! You can call and chat for free with all your contacts who are LibOn users, anywhere and everywhere in the world. And if you choose the Premium option, you can call more than 30 international destinations (mobile or land line numbers). Want more? With LibOn, if you can’t answer an incoming call right away, your messaging service will answer each person with a different, personalised announcement. This smart answering system converts your voice messages into text messages so you can check them faster and easier.

but how does it work? LibOn is a multi-operator mobile app, available in 80 countries, that enables voice communications using high-deﬁnition IP and instant messaging on a smartphone. The call is free of charge when made between LibOn subscribers. Its functions include an instant messaging service as well as an intelligent visual voice message service. LibOn will also be compatible with the joyn community.

and when will it be available? The iPhone version is available as of 21 November 2012. An Android version will be available by the end of the year.

Party Call (Facebook partnership)

when the conversation becomes “social” it’s life-changing! When you’re on Facebook, you can invite your friends to join your conversation without having to know or dial their mobile number. You can give them the option to join the call at any time. All you need to do is set up a conﬁdential link between your Facebook account and your mobile phone number, and then invite your friends to do the same.

but how does it work? A major breakthrough, made possible by a strategic partnership between Orange and Facebook, this “public telephone conference” solution allows people to talk directly with their social network friends. The conversation can be just two-way or between several people at once. Private and public conversations can be clearly distinguished. Voice activity will be posted on the users’ wall. As soon as a Facebook member joins or initiates a public call, a post will be published to his/her friends inviting them to join in.

and when will it be available? The voice option will be available on Facebook starting in the ﬁrst half of 2013 and will gradually be expanded with joyn-compatible functions.

Easier to install, it gives you quick access to an extra high-speed broadband service so you can surf the net faster than ever, and share all kinds of ﬁles between the various devices you have all around your house. For greater peace of mind, you can regulate the Internet access for the various devices in your home right from your smartphone or tablet: it’s a good way to set limits on just how much time your kids can spend playing online games, for example.

but how does it work? The ergonomics have been redesigned to simplify your interactions with the device, which now features an integrated screen. Thanks to its new design, it fits in perfectly with the rest of the hi-fi equipment in your home. Its two, more powerful Wi-Fi frequencies give it better coverage throughout the house and guarantee a better quality TV experience. The telephone functions are equally impressive, with an integrated DECT/CAT-iq base for simplified cordless use and HD sound quality. Last but not least, the eco-design and intelligent stand-by mode help you save energy more effectively.

and when will it be available? The new Livebox Play is being presented as a sneak preview on www.liveboxplay.orange.fr (in France) Preliminary sign-up will enable interested customers to get a taste of this handy device under special introductory terms as soon as it’s launched in February 2013.

my Livebox mobile app An all-in-one app to manage and organise all the services offered by my Livebox. Always within reach, this new app for smartphones or tablets allows you to keep a constant eye on the status of the different services and devices connected to your Livebox. The My Livebox app provides a practical way to organise and manage your uses, and those of your children, so you can schedule the different connections for the whole house. With my Livebox, you can quickly and easily check on the various services (TV, voice, Internet). Available for iOS and Android devices.

Orange TV

television with countless possibilities it’s life-changing! With the new Livebox Play TV decoder, you can navigate your way through the various menus with greater ease, surf the Internet, and take advantage of more pertinent recommendations for organising your family’s leisure and entertainment preferences. Now you can watch the programs you like together or separately, on different screens throughout the house. If you want to share comments with friends during a tennis match, you can split the screen (with the TV programme on the left-hand side and your social network chat on the right!). No need for a console anymore to play your favourite games. Now you can plug your joystick directly into the decoder. Another convenient innovation: the remote control has been redesigned so it’s even more user-friendly, whether you’re watching TV or playing games. The system lets you use more natural gestures to interact with the screen and when you ﬂip it over, you can type on a real keyboard to surf the Internet on your TV screen. The icing on the cake? Your tablet and mobile phone become instant remote controls so you can programme the recording of a show without interrupting the one you’re already watching, for example.

but how does it work? The Livebox Play TV gives you the beneﬁt of a new interface that’s faster and more user-friendly. It features a cutting-edge, integrated recommendation prompter as well as an enriched catalogue of more than 100 games in streaming mode. It’s faster and more powerful, and opens straight to the Internet. One ﬁnal note: a detailed accessibility menu allows you to adapt the display settings with varying degrees of precision to accommodate those with impaired vision and to preselect the audio description and/or subtitles default setting for those who are hard of hearing or deaf. 18

Orange TV programme An application for smartphones and tablets that allows you to check the Orange TV programme from anywhere, at any time.

a multiscreen TV A strategic partnership with Microsoft enables users to access the Orange TV service directly from their Xbox 360: the console replaces the decoder so the user can switch back and forth between programmes with the remote control and a ﬂick of the wrist or with Kinect and his/her voice command. This is a world ﬁrst in terms of integrating Kinect technology for TV usage and an exclusive service for TVs in France! What’s more, Orange TV will also be incorporated into Samsung’s new Smart TVs.

and when will it be available? The new Livebox Play TV is being introduced as a sneak preview on www.liveboxplay.orange.fr. Preliminary sign-up will enable interested customers to get a taste of this handy invention under special introductory terms as soon as it’s launched, in February 2013. Orange TV is available on Samsung Smart TV and Xbox 360 as of December 2012.

More than just a TV guide with a detailed listing of the programmes on the 70 channels, this app is like a real social network – providing news updates, bonus features, the option to comment on shows in real time via Twitter and Facebook, to send recommendations to your friends via e-mail and text messages, and to create alerts so you won’t miss your favourite series. Available for iOS.

OCS

all your favourite TV series, whenever and wherever you fancy it’s life-changing! You can watch your favourite TV series anytime, anywhere: on your TV, your PC, your mobile or your tablet. Thanks to the “follow a series” function, you can catch all the top TV series from the USA the day after they initially air. And your playlist follows you wherever you go. You can start watching a ﬁlm at midday on your PC, continue watching it in the afternoon on your tablet on the train, and then savour the last few scenes that evening on your home TV!

but how does it work? OCS (Orange Cinema Series) is a five-channel bundle you can access on your home TV and, via the app, on your smartphone and your tablet. It’s a legal way to watch high quality films and TV series on multiple screens. The innovative app allows you to download countless top-ranking programmes so you can watch them at your leisure, including on the go and offline. Thanks to the world’s first automatic download function, you can rest assured you won’t miss a single episode of the planet’s most popular programmes.

and when will it be available? The OCS bundle and its smartphone/tablet app are already available and constantly being enriched with new videos on demand as well as the roll-out of the full array of functions for iPhones and Android devices.

My Plug

connected devices that simplify your life it’s life-changing! My Plug is a clever, interactive, electrical socket that allows you to monitor what’s happening at home and take appropriate action when necessary. It sends you a text message to warn you if there’s a power outage, for example. It also helps you curb your energy consumption by allowing you to turn off or on certain equipment such as your heating system when you’re away from home. Its innovative sensors, which will be marketed beginning in 2013, will keep you informed at all times, via SMS, of any abnormal events including smoke, water leaks, a break-in or an alarm that may have been activated by someone at home who’s in need of help, and so on.

but how does it work? My Plug is an intelligent plug connected to the GSM mobile network. It sends you text message warnings on your mobile phone whenever something’s amiss at home and lets you take immediate action using that same phone. These very simple exchanges are conducted using basic SMS.

and when will it be available? The ﬁrst version of My Plug was launched during the ﬁrst half of 2012. Its ecosystem will be expanded in 2013.

Now your photos, videos, contacts, music and messages can be automatically stored in the Orange Cloud and synchronised with your various terminals – home and work computers, tablet, smartphone and home TV. In addition, your content is easily accessible on all your devices so you can share it with anyone you like at any time. And if you decide to change your Orange mobile, fear not: your data goes with you to your new phone! You can also say goodbye to worrying about memory chips with the Samsung Galaxy Camera. One quick click is all you need to save your photos and videos directly to the Orange Cloud.

but how does it work? All Origami, Livebox and Open customers get 50 Gb of personal storage space on the Orange Cloud. This private area allows them to save, view and share their data at will from their mobile phone or tablet. Use of the Orange Cloud app on the Orange cellular network is included in your mobile phone plan.

and when will it be available? In early December 2012, all Orange customers will have access to 50 Gb of storage space. Starting in February 2013, ﬁbre broadband customers equipped with the Livebox Play will have access to 100 Gb, as will all 4G mobile customers as soon as it’s launched.

NFC

your mobile phone is now the hub for all your daily transactions it’s life-changing! A simple gesture lets you use your mobile phone as if it were your wallet. Thanks to NFC (near ﬁeld communications), you can now use it to make purchases, catch a bus, train, cab or plane. You can even buy theatre tickets with your mobile phone!

but how does it work? Combined with the security of your SIM card, NFC allows you to purchase items in stores using your mobile phone. In addition to serving as a payment method, your NFC-equipped mobile will also become your ofﬁcial ID, replacing the cumbersome badges, keys, tickets, etc. that used to weigh down your pockets. Drawing from its wealth of technical and technological expertise, particularly in terms of security, Orange is spearheading the roll-out of NFC in France, in collaboration with its partners BNP Paribas, Crédit Mutuel and Veolia.

and when will it be available? The NFC ecosystem is currently being implemented and will be available in 2013 with more than 20 different Orange mobiles and will be compatible with 30% of payment terminals.

extra high speed mobility it’s life-changing! Now you can watch all your favourite TV shows in high quality and at broadcast time on your mobile device – in the train, the bus or wherever you go. And you no longer need to stay home to play your favourite online games: you can connect and play anywhere, anytime on your 4G-equipped mobile! When you spontaneously ﬁlm a friend’s concert, you no longer need to worry about how large the video ﬁle is; you can send it right to your Facebook wall so all your friends can see the show right away. Whether you’re at a local café or a park down the street, you can make the most of the moment by video-conferencing with your family on the other side of the world: what a joy it is to see their faces and chat long distance as if you were next door!

but how does it work? Today Orange has the highest speed 3G network in France, up to ﬁve times faster than the competition, as conﬁrmed by the French regulatory authority (ARCEP) in late 2011. Thanks to the H+ developments that are constantly improving performance levels, our mobile network continues to offer ever faster service. We’re actively working towards a full-scale roll-out of the 4G service – a fourth generation mobile network with high speed Internet access (up to 150 Mb/s) so you can enjoy all the same smooth connections whether you’re out and about or at home.

and when will it be available? The H+ service will cover 60% of France by the end of 2012. Available in Marseille since the Summer, the 4G service has been launched in three more cities – Lyon, Nantes and Lille – and will come to 12 others before summer 2013.

In certain large cities, such as Paris or Lyon, nearly 40% of homes can be ﬁtted with ﬁbre broadband. Orange’s Open Video Presence Simple, economical, reliable and practical, video-conferences can now be mobile thanks to Orange’s new Video Meeting app giving access to the Open Video Presence service.

Within just a few years, the beneﬁts of video-conferencing convinced thousands of businesses and professionals all across the planet that this was the way to go: easier coordination of participants’ busy schedules, simpler collaboration despite vast distances between key people, and less travel all saves precious time and money while reducing the carbon footprint. With Orange’s Video Meeting app, these advantages are now available “on the go”.

but how does it work? Using any mobile device equipped with 4G technology (smartphone, tablet, PC), users can join a meeting in real time, anywhere in the world, simply and smoothly, with or without pre-scheduling, and all the participants can interact and share documents directly and instantly with each other. Making the most of 4G technology, Orange’s Video Meeting allows participants to actually see each other wherever they are without compromising on quality, so the image and sound are seamlessly in sync at all times.

Livephone App

and my mobile phone becomes my home phone it’s life-changing! Why should you have to constantly juggle between different communication devices? Now you can use your smartphone all the time – when you’re out and about, naturally, but also when you’re at home. Thanks to Orange’s new Livephone App, your mobile phone can now also be your home phone. When you get home, your smartphone automatically connects to your Livebox, allowing you to make calls directly on your home Internet line. To call friends, you still use the same contact list you have on your mobile device. And all this still saves money because you can always choose the lowest price option – mobile or land line.

but how does it work? The Livephone App is available for Orange Internet clients with an iOS or Android smartphone. All you have to do is download the free app – no need to open a speciﬁc account. It enables you to make calls in voice-over-IP mode via your Livebox. Users can enjoy both incoming and outgoing calls, and even check their land line message service. Calls made using the app will be presented as coming from the home number.

and when will it be available? The Livephone App can be downloaded free of charge as of November 2011.
