New Site Plan 1:500
The area north of the hostel is a paddock for horses. It is half shaded from the sun so the horses don’t get hot. The drystone wall forms the boundary for this and also forms the farrier enclosure. The horses can be let free out of the paddock, out to the large open area.
Spire/Farrier Enclosure
There are many openings onto the paddock = interaction between horses and humans.

I am thinking of a way to make the facade meet the ground. I am thinking about a bit of stone - possibly bath stone. This would mean the timber stays away from the moist ground and water that gets behind the timber cladding can run off the stone.
