MAIN DESIGN FOCUS

As the project developed, the design concepts were modified to present a more astheticly pleasing and practical product. It was also crucial the product was compliant with the Australian/New Zealand wiring rules for it to be sold to a customer.

While conceptualising and physically designing the product my aims were to include line, texture, shape and colour while also maintaining a strong focus on the aesthetics and how the user would feel when the product was both active and in active.

INFLUENCE

Before I started designing and making my product I looked at other successful creators from around the world. Looking at Interior design, architecture, graphic design, art and photography gave me a broad overview and played a major role in helping me construct my final products.

THE SLIDER

The slider is a crucial element to the cradle design. It can be adjusted to suit the lamp shade depending on which design the buyer chooses. The structure is made from high quality Tasmanian Oak wood and finely sanded for a perfect smooth finnish.

B R A N D S TAT E M E N T

Kiko Lights was established in April, 2015. The lights are specifically designed and constructed to add to a space, enhancing creativity, productivity and positivity. The lights blend both urban and natural environments which compliments modern and vintage styled spaces. In a world full of mass production we believe there is nothing greater then a handcrafted product. All Kiko Lights are made using locally sourced materials.

25

STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY

All photography has been shot in a studio environment, keeping the emphasis on the product, eliminating a distracting background. It highlights features and important aspects about the light.

When a natural disaster occurs the area is almost unfixable for the people in the area, especially in countries with a lower social economical community. These areas rely on help from others. The damaged location needs to rebuild a new infrastructure, buildings, homes and lives. Kiko Lights and All Hands Volunteers aim to work together to provide lighting fit outs from materials located within the disaster site. This will include up-cycling materials that would usually go to waste, re-using them to bring the community back to life.
