Hello Chargers! The school year is already going by so quickly; we've been in school for a month now! Only eight more to go! I hope your progress reports are looking good. RTC season is now in full effect everyone! We have already begun teaching cheers during meetings, so make sure you come to as many meetings as possible. Along with cheers, we are also selling tutu materials for only $5 at the meetings. They're super cute, and getting them at school is super convenient! In the meantime before RTC, please come to as many service events as possible. These hours will count toward your induction to Key Club, so get started on them now. Some upcoming events are Ride for Kids and the Opportunity Village Saturdays of Service. Stay safe, do service, and have a great month! With all my love,

Katlyn Wong

Hello! August has been a month of transition before we begin to dive head-first into the truckload of events! September has plenty of opportunities for hours of service and fun, so take advantage of it while you can. If you are a new member, you are also able to get hours by sending in pictures or articles to me. I’m especially excited for the Ride for Kids event; I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, and it will be the first time I attend it. I hope to see you in the upcoming service events! Best wishes,

Lyann Gao

The first meeting of the school year was fantastic! It made my heart warm getting to see so many new and familiar faces. Overall, the turnout was great. All the freshmen were already so excited to be a part of this club/organization, and I must say that their enthusiasm is both inspiring and infectious. It was slightly nerve-racking to have to speak in front of all those people, but I eventually felt at ease. We already started bonding through icebreakers, and people shared stories through happy/sad change. All in all, it was a great way to start off the new school year, and I can't wait to see what else is yet to come.

2ND ANNUAL

8.19.17

My experience at this year's Camp Key Club was amazing! I met new people and learned more about what Key Club is and what we do. We played lots of ice breaker games to get to know each other with a little friendly competition followed by rotational workshops. One of the fun games we played was Capture the Flag and I was on the yellow team where we designed flags and made up team chants. GO HUNNY BBY'S!! The next part of the camp was the workshops. We rotated in groups to learn more about what Key Club really is. The things we learned about were the charities we normally volunteer for, the history of Key Club and the sole purpose of it's existence, the positions there are and what they do, and the chants. So far, I love Key Club from what it's all about to the things we do for people and our community. After attending this year's Camp Key Club, I'm really excited about what's to come for this year and what service we can do!

At first I was both nervous and excited for Camp Key Club. It may have been the second annual Camp, but I did not go the first time so I did not know what to expect. At the end of the day I came to the realization that I should not have been nervous at all. The camp exhibited all the social aspects I associated with Key Club, inclusiveness, friendly, fun, and of course cheering. Throughout the day, we had many workshops where we learned more about Key Club itself such as the inner working of the club and the many different levels Key Club operates on. We had fun making cheers and flags for our groups which ended up battling it out in capture the flag, which as short as it was, was still very fun. Most of all however, I walked out of the camp at the end of the day feeling very fulfilled and happy I went.

The annual clean up was very fun! We had to walk around the whole school picking up trash in the blazing sun. After every team got back, we got to rest and drink some refreshing water! We learned some cheers as well as run from bees, but overall, this was one of the most exciting activities I've went to!

Last Saturday at the Key Club trash pickup was a blast! Snacks and drinks were provided, and Key Club members got to bond while making the Clark campus a more beautiful place. I will definitely be attending the next event.

I went to the Annual School Clean Up on August 26th, and it was super fun. Basically, the goal was to go around outside the school and pick up as much trash as we could. To keep things interesting, we made a little competition out of it and whoever picked up the most trash, would win a prize. My team and I took off once it began, and we were checking every possible spot for whatever bit of trash we could find. Good thing we had gloves because some of the things we picked up were very dirty or had some questionable things in them. When all the teams gathered up and the weight off started, I thought for sure we had the most and that this was in the bag, but I guess not cause my team didn’t win lol. But as someone said, we weren’t there just to get a prize, and the true reward was that we accomplished what we wanted to do. It’s one of my favorite events and I can’t wait to do it again next year!

The Annual School Clean up was fun this year. We got together in teams to clean up the school, while making me feel like I'm doing something good for the environment. We also got to learn cheers after the competition. Overall the event was fun, but the only problem was that the weather was too hot and I was sweating too much. Next year I hope we will do the Annual School Clean up again and I would be glad to be a part of it.

The annual clean up was a blast this year! Especially for us newcomers that are experiencing these new things for the first time. I enjoyed every part of it even if it was burning hot; everything was just great and we all managed to have so much fun. We all came together to help make our school cleaner and you could really see how much work we put into making a difference at Clark. At the end we were practicing cheers and it let us show how enthusiastic we are for Key Club. All in all it was a memory full of laughs, chatter and a lot of sweat but in the end we all came out on top of our game and ended on a happy note. Events like the annual clean up really helped us put ourselves out there in a good way and allowed us to make new friends and become more social, it truly is something great and I'm glad to be apart of it.
