from the
PRESIDENT Happy January Clark Key Club, and happy 2020! I hope that everyone is excited for everything this new year will offer us. This month we had some incredibly fun events such as our more social ones like our Ice Skating Social, and Kickball for Cancer, as well as some of our more larger events like Wrestling Tournament. We also held our Winter Inductions, so I would like to congratulate all 69 members who were able to be inducted as official Key Club Members, as well as a thank you to everyone who came out to our banquet to celebrate. Hopefully you guys reflected on the amount of service and time all of you have donated towards the betterment of our community. Thank you!

The Winter Social at the ice skating rink was one of the best events I've ever been to. At the beginning, several people were nervous about falling while skating, but everybody had fun tumbling and helping each other out. I was constantly socializing with everybody as I passed by them and that was an amazing experience. Even people I don't usually talk to. We also did some dances on the ice like the Macarena and the Renegade. Plus, we met this small kid who went and skated with us for a bit and hung out and ended up meeting this one girl from Desert Oasis who wasn't in Key Club. Overall this experience was a 10/10 and I would definitely do this again!!! — DYLLAN ESLAVA

CANCER
Kickball for Cancer was so fun! This event was the first event I attended that was also with NHS so that was my first time experiencing a mixed club event. Personally I had a great time. The competition, jokes, laughs, and just overall fun spirit of the event almost made me forget that we were doing this for a great cause and not just for fun. I was so into the kickball game that I ended up sliding to home base to get the point for my team, that is an experience I won’t forget. We were also able to raise money for the foundation by selling sandwiches and combo meals and I bought some knowing my money would go to a good cause. We raised a lot of money for the charity and all we really had to do was have fun! — TATY’ANA MELCHOR On Sunday, I played on the Pink team for kickball for cancer, and it was super fun. There were slips and slides and many outs, but nonetheless, we tried our best! There were a lot of great players, and it was exciting. It was intense at times but wasn't too bad. After our team lost, my teammates and I ended up cheering for the blue Key Club team (woo!!), and it was super funny. I think that knowing the sideline cheers took everything up a notch. Overall it was a great experience, and I hope what we raised helps as much as possible :") — AALIYA ALI

HOUSE
Volunteering at the Ronald Mcdonald House was a lot of fun! When I first set foot in the house, the people were very nice and welcoming. After going into the kitchen, we washed our hands and did all the prep for the food we are going to make. My fellow members and I made a meal for families staying at the house, and it was an amazing experience because I got to work together with my friends and make something that the families could enjoy. Our menu consisted of fried rice, chicken, broccoli, and cookies. Making all this food together allowed all the members to bond, and have fun while volunteering. After the food was all cooked, we cleaned up the kitchen, and watched the families come eat our food — HAYLIE LI Ronald Mcdonald house was a cool event :D We got to make fried rice and brownies and chicken for the people living there and it was very fun!! A lot of us didn’t really know how to cook in the beginning, but we made it work at the end with the guidance of Ms. Wong :3 It was really fun cooking with everyone and we got to eat a lotta candy as well which was a plus :D — GRACE GU
