“August is the Sunday of summer.”

This month coming back to school is really exciting to see the incoming freshmen come and learn about Key Club and join learning how our initiatives are implemented through our service events. Camp Key Club is an event that I enjoyed reading and getting articles from because of the freshmen learning what our goal is in the club and the core values that are taught to the members through the service events we volunteer for. I cannot wait to see more freshman enjoying what I had done last year, and the smiles on everyone’s face learning about the things we do and why we do it is so heart warming. Please do your homework and go to more service events! I love to see all of you guys having fun with new friends while having to give back to our wonderful community.

Hello freshman and key clubbers! My name is Max Garcia and I’m your 2018-2019 president! This month consisted of getting our freshmen to learn about our goals, initiatives, and values in key club! We had played capture the flag and overall was a great event. We also had the PTP Car Wash fundraiser, in which we gave five dollar car washes to raise for PTP. In total we raised to about 230 dollars! This month has been transitioning to getting the hang of coming back to school, but seeing the new freshmen being interested in Key Club is an exciting time. Thank you for joining our club! I hope all of you guys had a good August, and hopefully a good September!

Max Garcia

Sincerely,

I’ve been attending Camp Key Club for three years now, and the event goes more smoothly and more fun each time. The event is inevitably hot under the Vegas sun, but I still enjoy it because I’m learning more about Key Club values as well as spend time together with my friends, or even meet new friends. It was fun to watch the freshmen learn about Key Club and experience the cheers for the first time because I am reminiscent about my first time. The most exciting part was seeing all the new faces that joined this club, and the interesting dynamic each individual brought that shaped the experience. I hope to see even more new members at the next event! – Lyann Gao 06

Camp Key Club was fun and more what than what I had expected. I had a great time meeting other people and learning more about Key Club. It was also super nice of Ms. Wong for getting us pizza and water. I can’t wait to go next year and have fun with people like I did that day. – Cameron Lee Camp Key Club was surprisingly enjoyable. I thought we weren’t going to do much besides talk about Key Club, but we ended up playing a game of CTF and learning more about each other. Overall, it made me more excited about what I was signing myself up for. – Jennifer Ly Before going to Camp Key Club, I wasn’t really set on whether or not I should join Key Club. However, when I arrived at the park for the camp, I was welcomed kindly by the key club members and the officers. The vibe and the energy was so strong throughout the day, I was sure Key Club was the right club for me. I already loved volunteering so I knew that Key Club was a way to volunteer and do it with people that I love. I learned a lot by going to this camp and made me excited for the upcoming events. – Yijun Kim My experience at Camp Key Club was an overwhelmingly positive one. Everyone there was so welcoming and it introduced me to a lot of new people. We learned about the different aspects of Key Club and had fun almost friendly competition. We then had food and went and played a game. It was an amazing event to undergo, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again next year. – Kevin Sun
