annual school clean up I have to say the volunteering was a lot of fun! I was really skeptical on how much trash we could find on the campus but surprisingly, we got more than 5 bags full of trash. Not only does it feel good because we contributed to cleaning up the campus but I got to learn so many people. I met new freshmen and upperclassmen throughout this school clean up. Everyone was so kind and made sure everyone felt included. My clean-up team was willing to work and made the whole process fun. I’m so glad that I went to the school clean up! – Yijun Kim THE SCHOOL CLEAN UP WAS ACTUALLY SUPER FUN. I MET A HANDFUL OF NEW PEOPLE, AND I HAD AN ODDLY GREAT TIME LOOKING AT PEOPLE TRYING TO COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS TO GETTING TRASH FROM ALL SORTS OF GUARDED PLACES. I LOVED HOW THE CLEANUP ULTIMATELY HELPED US GET RID OF TRASH AROUND THE SCHOOL WHILE STILL MAKING IT ENJOYABLE TO PEOPLE PARTICIPATING IN IT. – Jennifer Ly The school cleanup was also equally terrific. We had some competition, which motivated everyone there, and in result of that, we picked up tons of trash. It was rewarding to finally give back to our community and do something useful. – Kevin Sun

This is was my first to attend the annual school cleanup, since I missed it last year aha. I really didn’t know what I was expecting, which is weird since it literally is just a school cleanup. The weather was just great. I found myself looking in areas I usually don’t keep an eye out for, but there are definitely some mark to show I was out in the sun. Anyways, I was able to bond with the new members of our club and others. They were so sweet and adorable, I’m hoping their first year in Key Club is as memorable just how my freshman year went. I couldn’t be more thankful for the amount of support we got from the other teams, and board members. – Ciara Ramos

Vegas Roots, a local garden, Going to Vegas Roots Garden was a fun and meaningful event. While we were there, we got to experience nature and gardening in a welcoming and inviting place. While there, Key Club separated into three different groups- a weeding group, a transport group, and a painting group. I was put in the weeding group where we picked weeds and cleaned up the gardens. This was fun as I got to help the community and hang out with my friends. Overall, I would go back if offered the chance. – Snow Ma Vegas Roots Garden was really fun! The idea of working in a garden isn’t fun itself but being with friends and helping the community is always a blast. They provided water and sufficient tools to work in the garden and the people there were kind. — Emilee Chang

O P P O R T U N I T Y V I L L A G E Volunteering at Opportunity Village was quite the experience. My group and I were assigned to clean, organize, and tag items with a price in their store. This was beneficial to us as it gave retail experience and cleaning experience while also helping the community by setting up one of Opportunity Village’s only sources of income as they’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the mentally ill. Moreover, the experience was full of fun as my friends and I were able to clean and at our own flair of design into the store. – Snow Ma
