What’s up Key Clubbers! Welcome to the fifth issue of Charger Territory! We’re more than one month into the school year already, isn’t that crazy? This month has been pretty packed with general meetings and events such as Kiwanis DCON and our annual school clean up. It’s really nice to see old faces return and see some new faces filled with spirit, eager to do service and learn more about Key Club. I am definitely looking forward to future events and seeing you guys there! I hope you guys have an awesome rest of the month, stay hydrated, and never stop helping out your community! <3

PRESIDENT
Hey Clark Key Club! As the school year is starting to slowly ramp up, so is Key Club! We’ve held quite a few meetings now, and it’s great to see so many new faces excited to be active within the club. This month we had events such as Camp Key Club, which featured our officer board training new members in everything they needed to know about Key Club. I hope everyone is having fun with everything our club has to offer, especially our newly implemented programs such as our One Punch Card and Key Coins! Please look forward to more Key Club events in the future, and I hope you all enjoy your time with Key Club <3 I chrysia-ppreciate you all!

KEY CLUB
Camp Key Club has always been one of my favorite events to attend every year. This year I got to meet the new freshmen while draw pictures for hospital lunch bags, creating team flags/cheers (go green team!!)and learning more about Key Club. Talking to the new members and getting to know them was fun and seeing how many of them there were plus their enthusiasm hyped me up for the new year. Attending Camp Key Club made me look forward to the new year of service at Clark Key Club !! :)

Camp key club was a really fun first community service event. It was an
introduction to the freshman/first time key clubbers of what key club actually is while also giving them a chance to create new friendships. Not only did we learn some fundamental things for key club, we also helped out by designing bags for hospitals to use. At the end of the day we all had fun, we made stronger bonds and green team
won ;) — RYAN MENDOZA
Camp key club was amazing. At first I was nervous because I didn't really know anyone there, but everyone was very welcoming. We did workshops that were actually really fun and
educational like witnessing Flavio twerking. And we had 4 groups and we had to make cheers and have fun. I met lots of people and everyone was having fun. I totally recommend going to any events because you'll meet lots of people and do lots of things. — LAMAR JACKSON

CLEAN-UP
This was my third school clean up, and it was very different from my past two. I met and tried to interact with many of the new freshmen who were so incredibly sweet and excited for the new term! We all gathered around our school and picked up trash, both big and small to protect our environment! My group gathered plenty of trash, from bottle caps that were left behind on the dirt to large boxes that we found on the ground. It was very hot out and we all were in need of refreshing, but it was all bearable when we found that we gathered so many bags of trash from our school that appeared clean! This proves that we made an impact on our own school environment to make it cleaner one step at a time. During our search for trash bags, we did find a stray dog around that was in the heat, and many Key Clubbers including myself were helping the dog stay hydrated and cool as we were trying to find the owner! This was an event to remember, and looking forward to my final clean-up next year.

This was my last school clean up, and I was happy to see many energetic underclassmen helping out our school! Even though we were under the Vegas sun, I can tell that everyone had a great time! We all got to learn other people's names during the icebreakers, and I personally got to know a lot of names. Not only did we picked up trash, but we also helped out a woman find her missing dogs around the school. This event is one of my favorites to attend annually, so I was glad to come out today! — EMILY PENG

DCON
On September 17th, Key Clubbers from all over Las Vegas volunteered at the CNH Kiwanis DCON at the JW Marriott. It’s very similar to the DCON CNH Key Club holds, with a few differences. At this event, I helped out with some of the local Kiwanis while interacting with other Vegas-area Key Clubbers, cleaning up ballroom and meeting areas and putting stuff back in the truck to the district office. CNH district governor Chuofan Yu also made an appearance, which was quite nice. Interclub activities outside of the main district events are quite rare, so if Kiwanis DCON returns to Vegas in two years, get out there and help out. — KEVIN WONG
This was my first time ever going to a Kiwanis DCON, but it was pretty fun! Some people were assigned to assist the Kiwanis working the gift shop while another group placed down cards besides each plate in the dining room. Later into the event, we actually got to meet our key club district governor, Chofan Yu! Then, the Kiwanis told us to pack all of the booths away and carry a bunch of boxes into a truck. Many people from different clubs were also there, so it was really nice getting to see new faces as well as getting to talk to so many Kiwanians! Kiwanis DCON made me really want to be more involved with the Kiwanis as I get older! — BETHANY ANTERO
