What’s poppin’ Clark Key Club! I hope you guys had a great winter break :) There weren’t that many service events this month, but we did participate in the Salvation Army Bell Ringing with members of our sponsoring Kiwanis Club, so I hope those who attended had fun!

It’s almost 2020— new year, new you… and new service opportunities! I’m looking forward to seeing all of you participate in the events that we hold in the new year.

Thank you guys for making my 2019 one of the best, see you soon! <3

PRESIDENT Hey Clark Key Club! I hope that everyone had a wonderful winter break and enjoyed the holiday season. Due to our two weeks of break, we held less service events to let you enjoy your time off.

Our seasonal event of the month was our Salvation Army Bell Ringing with our sponsoring Kiwanis: the Las Vegas Strip Kiwanis. Thank you to everyone who also participated in donating gifts for our Adopt a Family, the board and I visited the house of where the donations went to, and Elijah was ecstatic upon receiving the gifts. On that note, as we move into the year 2020, I would like to say that I appreciate everything you have guys done with Key Club this past year, and I can’t wait to see what you guys do this new year.

phone BANKING The phone banking was so much fun. I learned a lot about speaking to new people confidently. During the phone banking everyone had someone who they were with to practice calls on and ask for help. The people we called had previous political opinions or it was completely new.

The phone banking was different than the past key club events where everyone got to practice their speaking skills with actual people in Nevada. The phone banking was an experience that Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;d love to do again. People also got to write a letter to the editor about the topic of their choice which I would also like to try. I am greatly excited for more key club events like the phone banking to come. â&#x20AC;&#x201D; JASMINE REYES

salvation army BELL RINGING

This event was quite enjoyable! We handed out candy canes and mints to the shoppers while wishing them happy holidays. Several people had donated for the salvation army. It was heartwarming to see the children and adults smile when they were greeted.

â&#x20AC;&#x201D; CLARISSE ANTERO Being a first time bell ringer, it was quite awkward approaching kids with candy mints and saying "Have a Merry Christmas!!" to random Adults. Some of the times I had offered the treat, I would get completely ignored, which was fine. At the end of the day, I soon found the fun in Bell ringing. Where I endured the rejections from children and kept smiling, enjoyably sang Jingle Bell Rock without shame, and gain social skills that I wish I had before. â&#x20AC;&#x201D;
