Hello my Key Clubbers! Not many more of these left! I hope that you all had fun at this month’s events. You have to make sure you keep up with your hours though! Remember that you’ll need 45 hours to be inducted for spring. If you already reached the 25 hours quota when it was before winter break, you do not have to worry about getting 45 hours. Get them in before spring break! Keep serving and keep working hard. Only one more quarter left! With all my heart, Katlyn Wong

Hello! Thanks for sticking with us during third quarter; it’s been rough but we got through it. The end of our term is approaching quickly, so I’m already feeling some withdrawals. Be sure to get your hours in before spring inductions if you’re aiming for that. Attend meetings regularly (only a few more left!) and volunteer for events. See you next month! :) Best wishes, Lyann Gao

Chinese New Year Festival was great as always. I got to attend both the set up day and the actual festival. The beginning of the festival had Key Club and NHS move stuff around that helped out the vendors. It was a fun and fresh experience as I got to work at the key club booth this year. I got to interact with everyone there as I got to learn more about them, which was nice. The festival progresses with it bringing in all sorts of food and free stuff. Everyone seemed to have a good time, even when we had to move all the chairs and tables back. Overall, I love attending this festival as it’s always enjoyable JONATHAN LEI | Senior Member

Chinese New Year Festival was my first time going. I have no words on how amazing and tiring it was. Even though I stubbed my toe with a table and my toe was numb for at least ten hours, it was very fun and very exciting to see the Asian community come and shop and have fun. All the performances that were there were truly amazing, as well as my first time trying Dragon's Breath. I loved hanging out with my friends, and it was truly an event I would love to go to for the next season of Key Club. DENISE LY | Freshman Member 8

The Chinese New Year Festival was an amazing experience that I encountered recently because of Clark Key Club. Being 75% Chinese, I never really was involved into the culture fully when I moved back to the states. Volunteering was tiring, but it was worthwhile. The colorful banners, food stations, and amazing performances were all displayed. Throughout the festival I was alongside my friend, Jennifer Yu. Jennifer and I got close than we usually would at school because we don’t have classes with one another so key club provided the time. There were some scenarios in which I became hesitant about, but it was nothing too large that I couldn’t handle on my own. My communication skills towards others has improved with the volunteering events key club assists. CIARA RAMOS | Freshman Member 10
As I stepped into the frigid, empty parking lot of the Chinese New Year Festival, I began to dread the strenuous workload ahead of me. Stepping out of it, however, I hesitated to leave. Within the six hours of manual labor and careful listening I underwent, I was astounded to watch a beautiful, intricate set-up built before me. Not only did I enjoy the experience with my fellow Key Club members and friends, but I was incredibly proud of the final result. The volunteers demonstrated perfect teamwork and dedication as they bundled themselves up in the unfortunate weather and refused to let it delay them, giving me strength and putting a smile on my face until the previously empty asphalt had morphed into a colorful celebration of Chinese New Year.
