president’s letter Hello lovely Chargers! I hope your summer has been great so far, especially since it's already coming to an end soon. Soak up as much fun and service as possible. Though we don't have a service event every week like we usually do, remember that it is best to get a headstart on hours right now. There's only a month left of summer, and having a few extra hours never hurt! Please come to the Dress for Success Power Walk and the first events of the school year, which is Camp Key Club and the Annual School Clean Up. We'll also be going over some RTC cheers during these two events, so if you are planning on attending RTC, I highly suggest that you go. Make sure you do all your summer homework and enjoy the rest of the break! With all my love, Katlyn Wong

editor’s letter Hello! I’m back from a long trip and although I’ve been MIA for almost a month, I’m happy to be home and preparing for upcoming events for Key Club. There are many upcoming events, such as Camp Key Club right around the corner, for you to participate in and immerse yourself into service events throughout the year. Stay hydrated, stay safe, enjoy the rest of your summer with Key Club! Best wishes, Lyann Gao

JUNE JOINT DCM 6.19.17

ă€Œ Maithy Le ă€?

The June Joint DCM was a truly pleasant experience! When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by members from other clubs in our division and they made me feel so welcome. Later on, we were separated into groups for the water games and coincidentally 5 out of our 6 group members were from Clark. The other member was none other than the new LTG! We then competed in a game that required team cooperation while the other games included water balloons and wet sponges. Afterwards, we were treated to "frozen" otter pops and surprisingly found out that we tied for first place along with two other teams. Although we lost the Rock Paper Scissors round that determined which team would come home with a trophy, we ended up getting treat bags filled with candy. The joint DCM was very entertaining and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to get some hours in during the summer while having fun with friends from across the valley!

SUMMER SOCIAL 6.24.17 ă€Œ Kayla Arcangel ă€?

The summer social was really fun! We started off with a couple of icebreakers which was enjoyable. And since there were a few incoming freshmen that attended, it was really nice to meet them. Then for a service

project, we decorated paper bags for the Ronald Mcdonald house. I remember there was this one incoming freshman that designed her bags with memes, and it was really funny. Finally, we had the water balloon fight. It was fun, but in the end, we were all soaking wet and my clothes took FOREVER to dry. Overall, like all socials, this was a very great experience. I got to see all my fellow Key Clubbers again, and I got to meet some potential ones too. Can't wait for the next social!

ă€Œ Dhimantha Daswatta ă€? The summer social was so much fun! There was food, a water balloon fight, and we decorated lunch bags for our service event! It was nice meeting some of the incoming freshmen as well! I'm sure they will enjoy their time in Key Club this year!

KIWANIS FIREWORKS BOOTH 6.30.17 - 7.4.17 The Kiwanis Fireworks Booth event was a really fun event that allowed me to be involved with Key Club during the summer! Throughout the days leading to the 4th of July, ă€Œ Katrina Orevillo ă€? Key Clubbers from many different schools in Las Vegas volunteered alongside the Las Vegas Strip and Neon Lights Kiwanians to set up the booth, advertise, and sell fireworks. For the first day, sales were a bit slow. On the last day, however, sales were crazy! So many people came to buy items, and it was really nice to see many people come up to the booth and purchase fireworks because I knew that some of the profit would go back to our Kiwanians who do so much for us. Overall, this event was really enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it to any Key Clubber!
