president’s letter Hi Chargers! Just like that, the school year is finally over! I hope you guys did well on your exams and had a good year. If you still have more high school years ahead of you, I hope you guys are just as excited as I am to enter a new school year after summer ends (oh my I'm an upperclassman now). If you're a part of 2017, I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors. I know that Clark Key Club is proud of you no matter what. With that being said, I'm super excited for a summer full of service! Please go to as many summer events as possible and start on your hours early. The world is always in need of volunteers to help out, and that means you! I highly encourage you to go to the Kiwanis Fireworks booth (especially on July 4th) and to go to the summer social. If you know any incoming freshmen (2021), please invite them to the social, especially if they're interested in joining Key Club. Make sure to check social media often, especially Facebook, to keep up with new events and see what's going on. Keep serving and have the best summer ever, my friends! With all my love, Katlyn Wong

editor’s letter The school year is done! We’re all one grade higher, and it’s an exciting feeling being an upperclassman. After the summer, the 2017 - 2018 board will be fully submerged into the Key Club fun and business. Hopefully you guys, as the wonderful members you are, will attend summer events and be involved, not just in the school year. Be prepared for what we have planned for you guys. I’m elated to be working with my board officers. Please stay safe and enjoy your break! Best wishes, Lyann Gao

BRIAN BACA | graphic arts

Becoming graphics art task coordinator was fun but more stressful than I had originally imagined. I've always wanted to be involved in Key Club but I was always scared to run for anything. When I found out I received the position I was more than ecstatic. I couldn't think of a better way to finish out high school than to dedicate the time I've always wanted to toward a club that I love. I feel like I have a lot to offer for the 2017-2018 board, and I couldn't be happier to have the position I have.

AALIYA CRUZ |

Hello! My name is public relations Aaliya and I’m very excited to be your 2017 - 2018 public relations task coordinator. Key Club is very important to me so I’ll do my absolute best to make sure this year goes great.

I had the biggest grin on my face when I got the news that I had received the position of Public Relations Task Coordinator. I won't get into the specifics, but I maybe even did a little celebratory dance! I had finally gotten a board position after a few years of trying. Even though it isn't a main board position, I finally felt I had the chance to show my worth to my fellow club members. I'm excited to serve as one of your task coordinators, during my final year of key club!

KATLIN ZHOU | executive assistant

Hello! I'm Katlin Zhou and I will be division 28 South's Executive Assistance for the 2017-2018 term. It was a very hard decision for Nicole and I am over joyed that I was chosen to serve this position. The process was basically a waiting game to see the final results. I was super anxious the whole time and I might have cried here and there. But it all worked out in the end. I am so honored and extremely excited to work with the team and officers to serve you all. I hope you all the best and will continue serving with the love you have. Let's have a good year! Remember to bee positive everyone!! :) <3

Hello everyone! For those of you that don’t know, I’m Kayla Arcangel, and I will be serving as Division 28 South’s news editor. When I found out that I got on the Division Leadership Team, I thought it wasn’t real and was almost on the verge of tears. I truly can’t believe I’m here to serve for the organization that is #1 in my heart. I can already feel that this term is going to be great, and I’m beyond excited to work with our LTG, DLT, and other club officers. We already have some amazing ideas in store for the KAYLA ARCANGEL | division, and we can’t wait to share them with you news editor all. I’m looking forward to making more amazing memories with all of you, and even though the school year is coming to an end, that doesn’t mean service does! There are many volunteer opportunities out there, so make sure to go check them out. Also, be sure to keep on the watch for upcoming events that our club has. I love you all, and I hope you guys have an awesome summer break!

Hello everyone! I'm Iris Luyen from the class of 2020. It is truly an honor to be able to serve as the fundraising coordinator of D28S for the 2017-2018 term. Deciding to apply for the DLT is definitely something I don't regret doing and although it's only been a year since I've joined Key Club, I've fallen in love with this club so much. By taking on this position, I'll do my very best to raise funds for the division for a variety of reasons and I hope my efforts will bring many successes to the division. I anticipate a great term with everyone and am overjoyed to be able to work with the rest of the DLT, the LTG, and the club board. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future. Love you all

MAX GARCIA | spirit coordinator

IRIS LUYEN | fundraising task coordinator

I was more than excited after receiving the message of my recruitment on the DLT. I spent a lot of time and detail while composing my application, and it payed off! I am very overwhelmed and joyful to be closer to Key Club and helping out my division as Spirit Coordinator, as well as helping out the rest of my team on improving the division together. I'm looking forward to the progress I will make, as well as my team, this summer and making it a great term!!

END OF THE YEAR BANQUET 5.18.17 On May 18th, I attended my first and sadly, last Spring Banquet. There, it was truly one of the final moments I can enjoy with other Clark Key Clubbers and appreciate everything Ms. Wong and the board has done for us. It's saddening that I have to end the last three weeks of high school with a beautiful "first" but certainly, the day encased four years worth of memories and experiences. From the members of recognition, personalized awards, and final speeches, I and all the other guests were able to reminisce on the happiness we had. While I may lose my cord or certificate in the future, these smiles and memories won't ever be lost.

The Clark Key Club End of the Year Banquet and Spring Inductions was a fun way to celebrate everything that our members have accomplished throughout the year. It was really nice to see some of my friends get inducted because they were able to reach the impressive 45+ hours required. It was also super heart-warming to watch some of the club’s most dedicated members receive member of the year awards, DCON member recognition awards, and graduation stoles and cords, since it was the last Key Club Banquet for all the seniors. We also said our farewells to the old board - Kelly, Tiffany, Dion, Anish, Jordan, and Leo - which made me cry. Additionally, we were able to have some of our Kiwanians attend the banquet! It was great that we were able to share our accomplishments with them and thank them for all that they have done for us, from inviting us to work the Fireworks Booth last summer to generously donating money to our club to help members attend District Convention in Anaheim. Overall, the event was fun and it makes me excited for a whole new year of Key Club accomplishments!
