Happy October, Chargers! I can’t believe we’re already this far into the year (I actually can’t. Isn’t the weather supposed to get cooler at all?)! The month of September has been quite an eventful month, full of different events. But now that it’s finally October, we’re getting closer and closer to Region Training Conference! Make sure that all of you are learning the general and competition cheers so that we can (hopefully) win that division spirit stick! On the big day, make sure to wear your 2016 RTC shirt, long pants with no rips (not leggings or sweats), any spirit gear you want to bring (like tutus), water/cough drops so you don’t lose your voice from all the cheers, and of course, all the Key Club Spirit you can bring! Aside from RTC, Fall Rally South is quickly approaching! Fall Rally is a fun-packed event where you spend a day at Six Flags, meeting other Key Clubbers, riding the rides, stuffing yourself with funnel cakes, all while raising money for PTP! I’ll also Be one of your D28W spirit tc’s, so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! Serving With Spirit,
Katrina Orevillo (Middle)

Hey Clark Key Clubbers! Time flies by fast as we have already finished our first month of school. During the month of September, we had our first Camp Key Club, our Annual School Clean Up, Bike MS Las Vegas, Ride for Kids, our first blood drive of the year, Cup Noodle fundraiser and the end of our hoodie sales! What a busy month it has been. I am proud to say that we were able to raise over $200 with our hoodie sales for Pediatric Trauma Program! Congratulations! Region Training Conference is coming up soon. I'm as excited as you all are. Remember to learn your cheers and prepare for an exciting day of cheering, serving, and meeting new people! I truly believe that we will be able to win the spirit stick this year. Give it your all and most of all, have fun! I'm so proud of you all. It is also time to sign up for Fall Rally South, another one of Key Club's biggest events. Experience meeting key clubbers from all over California, Nevada, and Hawaii and most of all, help raise money for Pediatric Trauma Program! This is an event you don't want to miss! School is tough but it is only just the beginning. Give it your al! Remember it isn't about how you start off, it is how you end it. Keep charging, Chargers! I hope to see you at all of our upcoming service events!

div. council meeting ARTICLE BY: MATTHEW WONG The September DCM took place at Bonanza High School. It was the first DCM of the school year and the first DCM that I went to. After club role call, our LTG and DLT talked about division news. They also announced who got the task coordinators for the positions. I was happy for everyone that got the positions since I knew each person that got it. Afterwards, listened to more division news and ate pizza. Shirts for the division were also sold, but I didn't get the chance to buy any. I plan on going to the next DCM as it was a great way to get up to date with division news while seeing friends from other schools. 7

From my past experience with this event, I guessed I had to wear shorts and a t-shirt. Additionally, based on my experiences with the school clean up, I guessed it would be super-duper fun! Spoiler alert: I was right! This year was crazy fun because my friends, who were not in Key Club before, were there and it was nice to see their pretty faces not stressing over school work for once. Not only did I have a super-duper fun time with my friends, but I also made new friends (shout-out to Taylor), was blessed by the musically talented people our club has (hi Joe and Reese), and learned new cheers for RTC (I’M PUMPED)! This is one of the many great experiences I've had in Key Club this year (though I smelled like trash for a while yikes), and I can’t wait for more events!!
ARTICLE BY: CHRYSIA EDANO The Annual School Cleanup was one of my first volunteer events in Key Club. We started out by doing icebreakers in two separate groups trying to get to know each other's names. I got to meet a lot of new people that I hadn’t before; as a freshman, that’s really exciting. Afterwards we started getting into groups and I decided to go into a group of people that I didn’t quite know that much so I could have a conversation with some fresh faces. Going around the school and picking up trash was actually very fun, even if it doesn’t sound like it. My group, sadly, didn’t win (in fact we had one of the smallest bags oops), but it was still a fun experience nonetheless. After this part of the event was the RTC prep. We learned cheers #1 and #3. I think they did a really good job of teaching it and I was able to get down the lyrics and movements in no time. Overall this event was super fun for one of my first volunteer opportunities, and I got to meet a lot of cool and nice people. Definitely would recommend signing up in later years!

bike ARTICLE BY: CARMEN LEE Going to Bike MS was just another great experience for me to encourage and help out the community. At the event, there were other Key Clubbers from different schools and that really encouraged me to do my best, even if it was just cleaning and putting things away. The weather was very nice which made the experience a whole lot better. We were able to help the event coordinators get what needed to be done and even cheer for the last bikers. It was so fun welcoming them to the finish line and cheering our utmost loudest. It was also a great way to bond and meet other members of my own Key Club, and to be able to serve with them! My favorite part of the event was when the members of all the Key Clubs present gathered around the finish line to pop the balloons. 10

ARTICLE BY: TIFFANY ZHANG Ride for Kids was such a great event with a meaningful purpose behind it. It was amazing to see all these people, specifically, all motorcyclists, to unite together and raise funds for children with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. It was cool to see all these different types of people. We helped to set up for the celebration afterwards and to guide the motorcyclists to the correct spots. Coming back, we held "Good Job" and "Superstar" signs for them and it was definitely a sight to see so many motorcycles coming in at once. It was my second time doing this event, and it's extremely enjoyable each time!
