Hello my lovely club! It has been an absolutely crazy month, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I hope that you all liked the events in the last month, including RTC! I have said it so many times, but I am so incredibly proud of you all. You all represented Clark well, and I hope you learned a lot about this wonderful organization. In addition, we raised over $300 for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! Because of you, we are saving the lives of so many children and their mothers and eliminating neonatal tetanus. Thank you for participating! Though RTC and Fall Rally season is over, I truly hope that your passion for service never dwindles. The community is always in need of you! Remember you need 25 hours to be inducted in the winter as well. Keep up to date with upcoming events, such as Kickball for Cancer and the Wrestling Tournament! I’ll see you soon! With all my love, Katlyn Wong 4

Hello fellow Chargers! I’m ecstatic to be part of the club that took home the D28S spirit stick! It’s all thanks to you, the members who dedicate your time, effort, and love you put into this club to make it as great as it is. I see a lot of you brimming with passion, and even ones who aren’t as vocal about -- your constant presence at meetings or service events do not go unnoticed. This year’s RTC was especially dear to my heart. where freshmen experienced a great beginning, and the seniors a great ending. Again, thank you for making this so special to everyone. We all contributed our strong voices and cheered our hearts out. It’s been a pleasure working as your bulletin editor, and I hope for more memories with you all. Until next month, make sure to get your hours in if you would like to be inducted in time for winter inductions. Have an awesome day! Best wishes, Lyann Gao 5

For my first year in key club, the car wash was one of the most fun times that I’ve had. Although it was a bit chilly in the morning and a little hot in the afternoon overall the weather was quite pleasing. Everyone there was extremely nice and more than willing to help out the others that didn’t know what to do. Even though I got tired, I had fun conversing with new people that I’ve never talked to. Because there were shifts, you weren't constantly holding signs which was nice in its own way. I hope to be able to continue participating in these events next year and continue meeting new people and to overall have fun.

Clark Key Club held a carwash on October 21, 2017. We held this car wash to raise money to donate to the cause of PTP, a disease that is killing multiple people, especially those who are under the age of 14. Many of us volunteered to help the cause, and we only charged five dollars to wash their cars. We then split our time up to do different jobs, and this allowed us to collaborate with each other more to get the job done. Some of us were in charge of “advertising” the car wash. We were a bit awkward at first carrying the signs, but eventually we broke out of our shell and started dancing with the signs. One of us even made a cheer and kept the mood going, and it was really fun even though some people may have thought we were crazy. The majority of us were actually washing the cars, and that was fun too because we found a way to have fun with it, and just helping each other out in different ways. We all worked together to get the job for each car, and found ways to make it interesting for us at the same time, some of those ways included getting our shoulders to clean the top of the car and laughing doing so. The entire car wash was a fun experience, even though I may have gotten hit by the hose multiple times, but that’s how we made it fun and interacted. The car wash was an example of how to enjoy yourself while still raising awareness for a good cause.

REGION TRAINING CONFERENCE 2017

10

The Region Training Conference was honestly beyond and above on winning my meter of happiness. I have never felt so happy helping out for charities and those who really need it, and cheering my heart out during our cheer session. I cannot express my happiness through a small article, but I have expressed it through the love of working on projects and cheering my heart out. I'm really glad to have attended RTC, and overall I'm happy to do projects that help people out and that dearly is placed in my heart.

DENISE LY | Freshman Member RTC was absolutely phenomenal this year. I experienced so much love, spirit and happiness. Clark key club has been such a loving home and they were able to take the spirit stick home!! I'm so proud of our club and I know that everyone worked very hard to make this happen. So thank you for making this RTC great. I hope that you all continue to strive for more, serve the community, better yourself and those around you. Bee happy & healthy!

RTC by far has been one my best experiences. At first when I heard about it. I wasn't too interested because I as a person wouldn't consider myself an outstanding sociable person that could easily approach, especially new people. Throughout the period of time I've been attending key club. It's made it easier for me to make new friends and talk to new people, which then encouraged me to come to a decision about participating at RTC. RTC was an experience that not only allowed me to help others which was great but at the same time got to know others. We also created a stronger bond with the friendships I already have. RTC made me realize how much I love my school and the people in it. For me, RTC broke many boundaries that I was scared of letting out. It broke my shell. I was “forced to move out of my comfort zone. Which seems scary but it feels great. RTC was an open door that lead to many greater things.

My third Region Training Conference was definitely one to remember! The day started out with workshops, where members were able to learn new things about Key Club International, officer positions, and charities. Members were also able to participate in service events during some of these workshops. I presented a workshop on Effective Communication and had lots of fun! The spirit rally was especially fun, as Clark Key Club brought the division spirit stick home! I'm super proud of my club for having so much enthusiasm and pride for this organization, and I can't wait to go back to RTC next year!
