FBLA Project 2 Introduction to Business & Technology

Carter Fall & Spring Semester

BAA Level/Activity Number 

Future, Activity #15

Description of Assignment 1. Strengths and Weakness – It is important for high school students to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses now that they are maturing and growing up. Students should be aware of the areas in their academic life that they need to continue to work hard on or to improve in. 2. Students should also examine their personal life. This activity asks them to list five of their strengths. On a blank page in Word, they will create a numbered list of 5 of their personal strengths. Students will then write a 100-word summary on why they think these listed reasons are their strengths and how they use them to benefit in life. 3. Students are also asked to list one weakness. Finally, students will write a 100-word summary on what they can do to overcome the weakness.

Project Instructions

Student Sample 1

Strengths: 1. Trustworthy 2. Thoughtful 3. Dependable 4. Respectful 5. Worrying I think those are considered my strengths because it is important to be trustworthy, if you’re not then no one will trust you with anything. It is also important to be thoughtful. Being thoughtful is a strength, because you should always put others before yourself. Being respectful is a huge strength. It is very important that you are respectful to everyone, you never know what they are going through. I consider worrying a strength, because if I didn’t then I wouldn’t make good grades, or good choices. Being dependable is also important, because you never know when someone might need your help or trust you to be there when they need it. Weakness: 1. Not talking much I think not talking much is considered a weakness. I think this because I never talk, I never express my opinions. Not talking much is a weakness because it is hard to ask the teachers questions when you need help. Also when you don’t talk much, it is hard to become friends with people in school who are not in the same grade as you and don’t already know you a little. This could also be considered a strength too. I think not talking much could also be considered a strength because being quiet could be helpful in some situations

Student Sample 2

My strengths are … 1. I am a good leader 2. I am a good friend 3. I am athletic 4. Learning comes easy to me 5. I’m good with technology My weaknesses are… 1. I’m very meticulous My strengths help me to succeed in high school and out in the community. I excel in school because learning comes very easy to me. I excel out in the community because I am a good leader and I am friendly so I am able to help people. These strengths allow me to express who I am and help other people by showing them kindness and being friendly. It is important to be involved in school and extracurricular activities. I being so athletic and smart helps me get into clubs and on sports team easily. My strengths help me to succeed in school and out in the community. I excel in school because learning comes easy to me. All of these strengths help me to succeed in school

I have many weaknesses but one that stands out is how meticulous I am. This is a weakness because I tend to take a long time to do anything because I want it all to be even and perfect. When I was making my “campaign” posters I had to just let go and go with the flow. A bunch of my friends wanted to help me make my posters, so they weren’t perfect like I wanted but I loved them just because my friends were willing to help me. I have to learn to be more like that in life. It’s good to be organized, but I don’t need to be controlling so it will be perfect.

My Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

I am dependable and I try to do my best when doing schoolwork I am smart and I always try to figure things out before I ask for help I am very determined to make good grades I am very friendly and I try to be friends with everybody I am very outgoing and will always try to help someone if they have a problem

Weaknesses 1.

When I don’t understand how to do my work I procrastinate and I don’t get it done until the last minute.

I listed these reasons because I can use them to my advantage when doing school work or doing any type of work. When doing something important I usually try to figure it out by myself instead of automatically asking for help when I don’t understand something. I want to make good grades so that when the time comes I can get into a good school and get a good job. Being friendly and trying to help someone doesn’t necessarily apply to school although it is good to be nice to teachers and other students. Being kind is just how someone should act all the time. This weakness is something that I have struggled with since school started. I also had trouble last year. When doing homework or schoolwork I usually try to figure out how to do it on my own but when I don’t understand how to do something I usually wait until the last minute to get it done. When I do this it usually leads to turning in work late or missing assignments that I should have. This year my goal is to get my work done as soon as possible and to always have it turned in when it is due.

BAND Being able to listen to music Being with family Being friendly And having great friends

My personal strengths are band, being able to listen to music, being with family being friendly and having great friends. I choose these because when I’m with or around these things. Like band it’s one of my favorite strength because I can never be in a bad mood when I’m in band class because if I am my band friends cheer me up. And when I’m able to listen to music it gives me strength to do my work or do whatever it is I have to do. Being with my family gives me the strength to be kind. And having great friends give me the strength to get thought the day. Knowing that I get to see my friends trough out the day. 1. Reading and writing Reading and writing is my weakness cause I hate to do either one of them. And cause if I read in a moving car I get a headache and I hate writing cause if I write to much my hand starts hurting real bad. So I don’t like to read or write a lot. Cause they are my biggest weakness. To over come this weakness I could try doing them both some more. And or try to do some more of they more often than just every once in a while. So that is why and how I could fix my weakness.

Student Sample 5

Strengths 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Loyal Hard working Dedicated Helpful Kind

When you are dedicated to something you will stop at nothing to achieve your goal which is a good trait to have. Hard workers are hard to find so when I work on bettering myself to become a hard worker I am helping myself for the future where I will need to be a hard worker and to be dedicated to everything that I do. Also when you’re loyal, helpful, and kind you earn people’s respect. And you need to earn people’s respect if you wish to get anywhere in life. Some of my “strengths” aren’t as strong as they should be but as long as I work hard and keep putting myself in the mentality to do better I’ll get there. Weakness 1. Lazy I’m very lazy and depending on what it is it is very hard to get me motivated to do anything. But I’m working on changing that now because I don’t want to be lazy and not get anywhere in life, I’ve had VERY good examples of people like that and have seen the lives they live and what they go through on a daily bases and I don’t want that to happen to me because I was too lazy to do anything. So I’m going to change myself for the better, because if I don’t who will? No one.

Personal Strengths:

I. II. III. IV. V.

Intelligence On My Side Independent Work Hard To Maintain My Goals Rarely Give Up On Anything Being Dependable (Helpful and Always There) For My Family

I’m intelligent in many ways. I hope to one day be able to use my intelligence to not only help me but to also help other people too. I’m independent, I like to work alone. I feel if I work alone I will get more done. If I need help I will ask. I have come a long way to where I am now because of my hard work and determination to achieve my goals. I rarely give up on anything life throws at me. And being dependable not only to my family but to everyone that depends on me.

Personal Weakness: I.

Obstacles Getting In My Way

Obstacles are what stop me from getting to where I need to be. I have a couple of problems in my life that didn’t quite stop me but has drastically slowed me down. Obstacles don’t stop me from achieving my goal. I don’t let them. I get through the obstacles so I can achieve what I want to achieve. The obstacles that stop me now are either minor or major, like

one obstacle is having learning disabilities. I don’t let that affect me I continue pushing through until I achieve my most recent goal.

Student Sample 7

1) 2) 3) 4) 5)

I am a good listener and observer. I am very reliable and dependable. I have integrity. I have a happy personality. I am honest and open when it comes to relationships.

I think that I am I great listener. MY friend talk to me whenever they have something go on and I’m always there to listen. I am very dependable, the people around me always know they can count on me no matter what I am doing, I will drop it and go help them. I am very honest. I don’t lie, because my mama taught me you get bad karma when you lie or anything like that. Also because I feel guilty and bad when I do. I am a generally happy upbeat person. I try to smile as much as possible. I also try to make those around me smile. I try to be the best girlfriend I can when it comes to personal relationships, with both my boyfriend and best friends. I am always there for my best friends, and I would never cheat on my boyfriend. Overall I think these are my best personal strengths.

1) I am very closed off when it comes to telling people what is bothering me.

I hate talking to others about my problems. I can listen all day to others, but when it comes to me telling them what is wrong I opt out. I am closed off when telling someone why I’m mad. I hate even trying to explain to someone if they are doing something that is bothering me. For example when my friend was making me mad with how she was acting I just got mad at her. I didn’t tell her I just stopped talking to her and I couldn’t tell her what was bothering me. I didn’t know how to get my words from my head to my mouth effectively. This is one of my many weaknesses.

Strengths:     

Sense of humor Social skills Trustworthy Reliable Maturity

I believe that these listed reasons are my strengths because a lot of people always tell me that they feel like they can always talk to be about anything which makes me trustworthy, and it makes me have good social skills. I believe that I have a good sense of humor because many people tell me that I am really funny, and I love to makes jokes and make people laugh. I believe that I am a very reliable person because I do not ever let people down I always try my best, and because I am usually picked to be the leader of a group. Finally, I think that maturity is one of my strengths because I try to always handle situations in a mature manor, and I never am in a lot of drama with people at school. I am friends with most everyone.

Weaknesses: 

Not so good under pressure

I listed bad under pressure as my weakness because I am a very big people pleaser. Usually I am always trying to make decisions that make everyone happy not just myself. To fix that, in situations when I am under pressure I can just calm down and really try to think about what the options are. After I calm down I should make the best decision not the one that will just please everyone. To improve that weakness I need to learn how to not overreact and stress out. I can go to a happy place in my head and get a hold of everything instead of worrying and stressing myself out.

    

I run fast I’m a very dependable person I’m reliable I come up with some things by myself I have good work ethic

When I was younger my parents discovered something unique about me. I am very athletic and excel at every sport that I do or did do. I would say that I am a dependable person because I always did things on time, and me being reliable makes it even better. I’ve worked 3 different jobs out of my life. I am currently a cashier/ bagger at Harvey’s In Hahira GA. When I was young I always use to help my dad out in the yard doing yard work. Now he says that I am lazy and I never want to work for anything.

Weaknesses 

I get distracted very easily

I am one of the people you hear about when they say ‘’they cannot stay focused or stay on task’’ I’ve been like that ever since I was little. Now I am starting to break away from that weakness but it was hard to do. Even when I was a little baby my mom told me that I was so noisy and I could never pay attention. Its just something that I couldn’t control but I guess of me getting older I was forced to pay attention to things. Now that I stay on task my grades have improved tremendously.

Student Sample 10

    

I help people out. I am a reliable person. I am dependable. I like to hear good ideas of others that I can learn from. I respect my elders.

I like to help people. If I see my elders that are doing something hard I would do that stuff for them. If I see that someone that is homeless I would always try to do something for them like, giving them food etc. I am reliable person if someone tells me something that’s a secret I would always try to hide it or try to help if he is any problem, the same thing like I am dependable too. I like hear good ideas from people that would help someone. I always respect my elders if they want to say something I hear it and do it if they want something to do.

Weakness I have a lot of weaknesses but this weakness is been all my life. I don’t have Self-confidence. Whenever the teacher says that we are going to present my face turns red and I forget that what I had to do. I always am quite like I don’t too much in the school. I am always worried that I hope my teacher does not call me in the class room or ask me to do a problem at the board. I always try not to do something wrong because if I do teacher call me I and every one look at me.

What Is Recycling Recycling is a process to convert waste materials into new products to inhibit waste of possibly useful materials, decrease the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, lessen air pollution and water pollution by reducing the need for "conservative" waste removal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production.

Benefits of Recycling: •

Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators

Conserves natural resources like timber, water, and minerals

Saves energy

Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials

Reduces greenhouse releases that contribute to global climate change

• •

Helps sustain the environment for future generations Helps create new well-paying jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries in the United States

Why Recycle?

REUSE •0110 REDUCE VW RECYCLE

Recycling is one of the most useful environmental practices around. Its way more than reducing piles of garbage, it protects habitat and biodiversity, and saves energy, water, and recourses like trees. Recycling also cuts global warming pollution from manufacturing, landfilling, and incinerating.

Recycling Fun Facts! •

A used aluminum can is recycled and back in the grocery store as a new can, in as little as 60 days.

To produce each weeks Sunday newspaper 500,000 trees must be cut down.

The average American uses seven trees a year in paper and other made from trees.

A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose.

Every year, each American throws out about 1,200 pounds of organic garbage that can be composted.

Fund Raising Ideas and Chances

Does your church or school need to raise money for a youth trip or field trip? Instead of depend on on a cash donation set up a collection bin for church members or students to donate recyclable goods.

October 27, 2015 SAVE THE PLANET! REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE!

Why We Should Recycle Recycling is a process of collecting and processing objects that would just be thrown in the trash. Recycling turns trash into new products that will benefit the environment and your community. We should recycle because it will help save our planet.

What We Can Recycle

Who Should Be Concerned about Recycling Everyone should be concerned about recycling. Recycling will save our planet and Earth is everyone's planet. We should all take the time out to recycle so we can save our planet from pollution.
