WHAT IS ‘FURNITURE vs. SPACE’? It is a workshop done with collaboration of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University Faculty of Architecture Department of Interior Architecture and TEI of Athens University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts and Design in Athens that supported by ERASMUS program and accomplished between 4 December 2017 to 7 December 2017
‘MOBİLYA MEKANA KARŞI’ Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf Üniversitesi Mimarlık ve Tasarım Fakültesi İç Mimarlık Bölümü ve Atina Teknik Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi İç Mimarlık, Dekoratif Sanatlar ve Tasarım Bölümü iş birliği ve ERASMUS programı desteği ile 4 - 7 Aralık 2017 tarihleri arasında Atina’da gerçekleştirilen çalıştaydır.
WHAT IS THE SCOPE? This workshop covers the contents of modular connection of space and furniture components. Students are expected to design functional and aesthetic storage and/or resting, sleeping systems which encompass and/or surpass space.
KAPSAM Bu atölye, mekan ve mobilya bileşenlerinin modüler bağlantı içeriğini kapsar. Öğrencilerin mekanı çevreleyen ve / veya aşan işlevsel ve estetik depolama ve / veya dinlenme, uyku sistemleri tasarlamaları beklenir.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? The students would solve dominant furniture problems in a given space. They would be able to approach the design steps by thinking of the space and furniture manufacturing by means of economy and ergonomy. Students would be learning to generate space through furniture systems. The lectureres would share ideas, experiences and understanding on the specified topic.
AMAÇ Öğrenciler belli bir alanda, hakimiyet kuracak olan mobilya problemlerini çözer. Alan ve mobilya imalatını ekonomi ve ergonomi üzerinden düşünerek tasarım adımlarına yaklaşabilirleceklerdir. Öğrencilerin, mobilya sistemleri vasıtasıyla mekan tasarlamayı deneyimleyerek öğrenmeleri çalıştayın amacıdır. Yürütcüler, belirtilen konuyla ilgili fikirleri, deneyimleri ve anlayışı paylaşarak buna destek olacaklardır.
WHAT ARE THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES? Students would be focusing on bridging the ergonomics and modular coordination, problem-solving skills, reflective thinking, critical thinking, awareness and understanding space filling. Students would be working with modules concerning the manufacturing industry and human dimensions. They would be enhancing their creative thinking by brainstorming kick-offs.
HEDEF Öğrenciler, ergonomi ve modüler tasarım anlayışına odaklanırken, problem çözme becerilerini, eleştirel düşünme, farkındalık ve mekan algısı geliştiriyor olacaklardır. İmalat endüstrisi ve insan boyutlarıyla ilgili modüller ile çalışacaklar ve beyin fırtınası yaparak yaratıcı düşüncelerini etkileşimli öğrenmeye dahil olacaklardır.
WHAT IS THE METHOD? The lecturers would convene group of students. There would be 3 groups of students. Each group would research and iterate a different sub-topic. First day there will be a common presentation for all the groups covering modular coordination and ergonomy topics. With reference to module concept students would be rendering the boundaries of the relations between the furniture and space. They would be covering divergence and convergence of ideas. Each attendee brainstorms several individual ideas in order to generate a wide set of concepts. Studio participants present their ideas to each other, and then have a chance to offer feedback and critique each other’s ideas, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of those ideas. Together, the group sketches a collaborative idea, making modifications or combining the strength of several ideas. Students would work between 1/50 to 1/5 scale. They would produce sketches, plans, sections, perspectives and finally models for this workshop.
YÖNTEM Konular üç gruba ayrılacak ve 3 yürütücü ekip tarafından yürütülecektir. Her grup kendi alt konusu içerisinde bir yaklaşım biçimi geliştirerek araştırmalar yapacaktır. İlk gün modüler tasarım ve ergonomi konularını da içeren ortak bir sunum ile başlanacak ve bundan sonra öğrencilerden mekan - mobilya ilişkisini modüler tasarım anlayışından da hareketle araştırması beklenecektir. Her grup kendi beyin fırtınası sürecini birden fazla alternatif geliştirmek üzerine kullanacaktır. Bu süreçte yürütücüden de geri bildirim alınarak tasarımların geliştirilmesi beklenmektedir. Ortak çalışma olarak yürütülecek olan süreçte, eskiz çizimleri, planlar, kesitler, perspektifler üretilmesi beklenecek olup ölçek olarak 1/50 - 1/5 aralığı kullanılacaktır.
