MAESA Evensong Featuring the CFS Choir - Attend in Person or Watch Online

This Sunday, February 8, the MAESA Choral Evensong, featuring 300 Episcopal high school students from the MidAtlantic region, including the CFS Choir, will be held at the Washington National Cathedral. The Rev. John Daniels, CFS Chaplain, is serving as officiant. If you're in the D.C. area, please stop by! We'll be hosting a reception following the 4:00 p.m. performance in the Pilgrim's Gallery. Unable to attend? The Evensong is being live-streamed at www.cathedral.org. Choir Director Gary Gress recently wrote about his experiences working at Church Farm School for the past 25 years. You can read it here.

Osiris Nicholson Continues to Shine at Track Osiris Nicholson '15, from the Bronx, NY, continued his track hot streak on January 24 by taking first in the 55m dash at the 2015 New Balance Games at the Armory Track in New York City with a time of 6.44. Prior to this achievement, he and his peers on the 4x200 relay team finished first at the Lehigh Meet, as well as the Burdette Invitational in December. We had a quick chat with Osiris: Q: What's your favorite event? A: The 55m dash. Unlike most people, I actually appreciate how short it is and how quickly the race goes by. Q: Do you prefer team or individual competitions? A: I prefer team, because I have a high confidence level when running with my teammates. When I see more of us succeeding on the track, it let's me know that more of us are doing something well for the school. Q: What are your plans after Church Farm School? A: I'd like to be in a college where I'm comfortable, and have no worries. I plan on running in college so I would like to be somewhere competitive. Next up for Osiris is the Millrose Games in New York on Valentine's Day, the State Championships at Penn State on March 1 and finally, Nationals over spring break. In the meantime, watch the race here!

Church Farm School Gala Featuring "The Tonics" Coming to Wayne Art Center May 1

Building upon the success of the first ever Church Farm School Gala last year, we will be holding another fund and friend-raising event on May 1, 2015 at the Wayne Art Center. The theme this year is "Broadway Bound," and will feature the CFS Choir (who will be performing at Carnegie Hall in 2016),

and the exciting Main Line a cappella group, "The Tonics," founded by Jim Buck and George Gephart. We hope you will join us for this second annual event, with all proceeds benefiting the school's mission. Registration will be live on our website soon, but in the meantime, inquire about becoming a sponsor or a patron by contacting Suzette Baird at sbaird@gocfs.net.

Annual Fund

The 2014-2015 CFS Annual Fund drive is underway. We are looking for increased rates of participation among our parents, alumni, faculty/staff and friends. Income from tuition covers less than 10% of our annual operating expenses. Contact Director of Development Peter Corrado at pcorrado@gocfs.net or you can make your gift online at www.gocfs.net/give. Look for future E-Lerts to arrive on a monthly basis. Please share the email addresses of friends and/or fellow classmates who might also wish to receive these updates. As always, thanks for your time and interest.
