Letter from your Treasurer Hello NJ District Board! The Elects are coming The Elects are coming! The most exciting part of the year is not only upon us but it is barreling towards us. Very soon we will see the new board at Midwinter but before all that happens we must make sure that we are planning and promoting District Convention. Quite frankly, DCON is the last hurrah of the service year. It is what encourages other students to take part in this organization we love so much. Make sure you are all encouraging your members to attend! As usual this newsletter contains information on DPS, Dues and general tips and reminders. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Dues Updates As of today January 9th, as a District we have 100 clubs paid with 9,019 paid members! Communicate with all clubs from your division that may be dues unpaid (list on next page) and encourage them to do so ASAP. Clubs are quickly becoming in danger of being suspended and being deemed not in good standing. I have been sending emails to all the clubs that have yet to pay as well. I have been receiving many responses which is a great, however for some clubs there is no Club Roster and hence I have not been able to inform the clubs of their status. Take a look at the next page (no roster is designated by CR), let me know if you have any contact info at all and if you have any status report on said club. Be prepared with the status of all dues unpaid clubs for your January Board reports as the topic will be discussed.

DCON Reg

The 71st Annual District Convention is quickly approaching us. Sessions, workshops, campaigning, dances, house of delegates, laughter, tears, it is all coming. So with that one of our main goals should be to promote DCON to ALL of your members. Officers, general members, everyone that is passionate about service should know about DCON.

Reg Assignment

As you all know, I assigned you all to send out the DCON Reg email template and the Reg packet yo your clubs by the 13th (January Board). To reinforce that message, I ask that you all do a DCON Reg Communication, same rules as always, text, email, call whatever but I must be CCed or receive screenshots with their responses. This assignment is for you all to talk one on one with your officers regarding how amazing District Convention is, encourage your clubs to attend and even fundraise to attend. Please complete this assignment by 1/22/17. Make sure that you answer any and all questions they may have! Also I managed to find a vlog a member made last year throughout the entire DCON weekend, so feel free to message me if you would like to share that with your members as well. DCON is an event that inspires members and brings new members to key club each year so try to get all of your clubs to attend. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

DPS

While as a District we are making progress for Hunger in NJ, we are not close to our goal by any means. Continue encouraging your clubs to participate, and make sure they are filling out the CMRFs correctly. If every club participates we can reach our goals. Keep working hard!

District Event As you all know the District Event is February 12th at Theodore Schor Middle School on Piscataway. Please promote this to all of your members especially if your division loves volleyball. You can promote by: ● Send out flyer attached to email ● Send reminders to club members ● Print flyer and hang them around your school ● Share Facebook Page ● Invite members to Facebook Page ● Contact your Kiwanis Clubs about attending ● Encourage your Elects to attend ● Invite friends, family, neighbors, everyone is welcome to this event ● If you have any questions, feel free to ask me
