RETHINK THE FUTURE OF MINING REPLACE OR REDESIGN? RETHINK. It was not enough to replace some components or redesign only a part of the machine. This technology compelled us to rethink the entire design. The LH518B battery-electric loader from Sandvik has been designed from the ground-up to take advantage of all the benefts of electric drive technology. We’ve rethought the machine so that you don’t need to rethink the whole mine.

And it was the first time Caterpillar had implemented Command for hauling on Cat 797F 364-tonne (401-ton) trucks. But while the application was new, the technology itself has already been proven on a number of mine sites around the world and it is being supported by a team of experts committed to its success. See how Imperial Oil, Finning Canada, and Caterpillar came together as one team to mine better in the Canadian Oil Sands.

course includes both theory and practical elements and presents some of the strategies that are being used by companies worldwide to ensure compliance with anticorruption laws. MAY 12, 14:00-16:00 An Introduction to Mining Sustainability Economics – Why Depletion Matters Benjamin Cox, Ben Murphy, Bradshaw Research Initiative for Minerals and Mining at UBC Dr. Erin Bobicki, Associate Professor, University of Alberta The panel will lead an interactive learning session discussing sustainability in mining from an economic viewpoint. There will be a focus on the economics of pre-concentration, and how to set up trade off analysis between grade, recovery, and ore rejection, and why with fundamental depletion being the biggest issue our industry faces, recovery is king. The session will lightly touch on some of the topics covered in sustainability economics from the BRIMM Executive Micro-Certificate in Economic Leadership for Mining. The course is suitable for any person working in the mining industry who is interested in sustainability and particularly in using economics to build a more sustainable industry. Some of the key goals of BRIMM Executive Micro-Certificate program are to promote diversity, inclusiveness, and breakdown traditional silos in the mining industry. We welcome everyone!
