We branch our endeavors into six areas of focus. SCORP on human rights and peace; SCORA on sexual and reproductive health and rights including HIV and AIDS; SCOPH on public health; SCOME on medical education and health systems and human resources; SCORE on research promotion and exchange; and SCOPE on exchange and global health SCORP is related to issues on human rights and peace, including problems faced by refugees. SCOME serves as a frame for medical students contributing to the development of medical education.

SCORA aims at raising the awareness on reproductive health including sex education, gender equality, etc.

SCOPH addresses all issues related to public health within communities including global health issues, health policies, health promotion, and education SCORE gives all medical students chances to partake in medical research in foreign countries.

SCOPE facilitates all medical students to feel the atmosphere and culture in foreign country while experiencing clinical clerkship. THE SIX STANDING COMMITTEES

SCORP

Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP) engages in the field of human rights and peace. SCORP aims to provide education in the field of human rights, especially on health and peace to the community, in the form of increasing awareness and knowledge of prospective health professionals in the health system for refugees, displaced people, or groups vulnerable to disasters and health. SCORP always prioritizes equality of rights between humans regardless of status and always tries its best to defend the rights of vulnerable groups.

SCORA

Standing Committee on Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights Including HIV&AIDS (SCORA) focuses on issues related to reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), gender equality, maternal health, and gender-based violence. SCORA remains courageous and believes that the best way to prevent problems from arising in the community is through education including those topics which could be considered taboo. It is not only a disease that SCORA is trying to defeat, but also the stigma that is circulating in society with education-based activities.

To promote Human Rights and Peace, as future health care professionals we work towards empowering and improving the health of refugees and other vulnerable people.

SCORA’S MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide necessary tools to advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights within respective communities in a culturally respective fashion.

SCOME

Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) has a broad scope in public health including global health issues, health policies, health promotion and education. SCOPH empowers medical students to develop their skills, knowledge, and potential of being skillful health professionals towards making a healthier community in the realization of improving the nation’s health

Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME) is committed to making active efforts to support medical students to obtain a comprehensive medical education to prepare future health professionals. Medical education plays an essential role as it shapes not only the quality of future doctors but also the quality of healthcare. SCOME works mainly in medical education capacity building by providing platforms and methods for medical students to gain access to medical education both in terms of issues and medical education curricula.

SCOPH’S MISSION STATEMENT:

To promote the development of medical students in Indonesia regarding Public Health issues through an international and national sharing knowledge network, projects management, community-based learning, capacity building, advocacy, exchanges placements and access to external learning

SCOME’S MISSION STATEMENT:

We aim to achieve excellence in medical education throughout the world.

SCORE

Standing Committee on Research Exchange (SCORE) facilitates medical students in Indonesia to do research exchange programs and learns basic principles of medical research such as literature study, data collection, scientific writing, practicum, clinical research, statistics, and ethical aspects through research-intensive and focused projects.

SCORE’S MISSION STATEMENT:

To offer future physicians an opportunity to experience research work and the diversity of countries all over the world. Also, to develop both culturally sensitive students and skilled researchers intent on shaping the world of science in the upcoming future.

SCOPE

Standing Committee on Professional Exchange (SCOPE) engages in clinical student exchange and to learn about global health and understand different cultures and health systems. SCOPE facilitates medical students of Indonesia to get the opportunity to take part in clerkships or youth registrars in more than 136 countries in the world that are affiliated with SCOPE IFMSA. Not only that, SCOPE also facilitates medical students from abroad who wish to join a clerkship for one month in Indonesia (incoming).

SCOPE’S MISSION STATEMENT:

To promote cultural understanding and cooperation amongst medical students and all health professionals through the facilitation of international student exchanges. Also, to give all students the opportunity to learn about global health, and attain this partly by having accredited by medical faculties across the world.
