Eligible members must maintain a 90 average in a regular art class and maintain a B cumulative average in all other subjects. El- igible students will also exhibit strength of character, a strong work ethic, and a desire to give back to their community.
NAHS offers opportunities for national recognition, scholarships, leadership experience, and connectivity to 50,000+ outstanding art students worldwide
Several members of the newly formed Kings High School Art National Honor Society (ANHS) painted three fire hydrants around the KHS/KJH campus.
KHS Art Teacher Carrie Cooke took the idea to the Deerfield Township Fire Chief, and he gave permission to paint the hydrants. She was excited to give the ANHS students the opportunity to showcase their amazing artwork in a unique and creative way. She says, “I hope that the students, parents, and visitors that come to Kings enjoy the little extra add color added to our school campus.”
Public Works Director Highfill Graduates From Leadership Warren County
As one of the fastest-growing counties in Ohio, Warren County faces some unique challenges. Leadership Warren County (LWC) came into existence as a way to address these issues and create a unique identity for our region. Addressing the needs of constantly growing community requires that individuals be educated and encouraged to assume leadership roles. LWC was established to challenge and enable individuals to fulfill these functions and guide our neighborhoods, businesses, organizations, and county into the future. The program’s goal is to create a network of informed decision-makers.
A recent graduate of this prestigious program is Deerfield Township Public Works Director Billy Highfill. His LWC class started in March 2022 and recently concluded in November. “I enjoyed every aspect of Leadership Warren County,” says Director Highfill. “Even though I have been a resident of Warren County for 47 years, I learned a number of new things about our community.”
Along with his classmates, Highfill visited a number of historical places. His class participated in a number of seminars and presentations on issues facing Warren County. Highfill also made numerous new professional connections that will help him with his responsibilities for the Township. “I am blessed to say that these relationships have become lifelong friendships,” he adds. Highfill thanked the leaders of his class, Arla Tannehill and Bill Thornton, for their help over the past several months. “Their love for the county and dedication to LWC truly made this a once in a lifetime experience.”
Congratulations Director Highfill and your classmates on this outstanding accomplishment! Warren County will be a much better place thanks to your collective leadership.
