Shadow Movie Review Caste : Venkatesh, Tapsee,
Srikanth Music : S. Thaman
Director : Meher Ramesh Producer : Paruchuri Kireeti
Better to brace the summer heat than face this ‘Shadow’ 10
WWW.CINESPRINT.COM | APRIL 2013
Story: A decent blend of all elements like romance, action, comedy and sentiment just as we expected from the movie, Shadow does a decent job. His entry begins with the punchy dialogue, ‘Nenu evaru anedhi mystery, nanu catch cheyalante history, meeru chudaboyedhi naa victory’. Raja Ram, Venkatesh, is the son of Raghu Ram, Naga Babu who is an investigation journalist working under the secret project Shadow. Raghu Ram’s, dedication and determination to collect evidence of the misdeeds of Don Nana Bhai, Aditya Pancholi, prove to be successful after they find crucial details related to him.
Performance: Venkatesh’s performance was excellent as always. His refined looks make him younger than his appearance in SVSC. Different shades in his role were expertly dealt with by the star. Taapsee enthralls with skin show. Her action however needs a lot of improvement though. With the short screen time most of her flaws can be overlooked. Aditya Pancholi’s debut in Tollywood is impressive and but we think he can do a lot better in the negative shades in the future. Naga Babu’s role is nothing special but good nevertheless. Venkatesh’s attempt at comedy fails this time due to poor timings and lack of support at the right time from MS Narayana’s monotonous efforts.
Don Nana Bhai is the criminal mind behind several bomb blasts in India. He learns of Raghu Ram and his family. Seeking revenge, he exterminates all of them but magically Raja Ram is survives the beastly attack and plots the fall of Nana Bhai continuing his father’s quest. The rest of the story shows how he avenges the death of his father.
Analysis: Movies should have all elements doesn’t mean you have to force them into the movie any how. Shadow fails at noting the quantity that is required in the ingredients and merely dumped all of them into the blender. Music is average. Costumes of Venkatesh are a let down. Though his getup was great in the audience when he attended matches of IPL 6, it doesn’t appeal as much on screen. Abysmal editing, it could be the work of a dilettante at best. Screenplay of Shadow is the only interesting part. The script fails after it was hyped up so much. Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan probably didn’t receive their royalties when they wrote the script. Meher Ramesh was extremely bad in Shakti and has not improved a bit for this movie. Producers should have invested in a better movie than this.

Story: Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorjee) is a big don living abroad and he is using his power to create terror and anarchy in India. But soon, he starts getting competition from one person called Baadshah (Jr NTR).
Music : S. Thaman Director : Srinu Vaitla Producer : Bandla Ganesh
Baadshah’s father Dhanraj (Mukesh Rishi) has a casino in Macau which is eyed by Sadhu but Baadshah hatches a plan and starts creating trouble for Sadhu Bhai. At the same time, he also makes another plan, goes to Italy and catches the attention of Janaki (Kajal). Soon, Baadshah and Janaki fall in love but she doesn’t know his identity. Who is Janaki? Why did Baadshah go for her? Does he eliminate Sadhu Bhai? All this forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Jr NTR is back with a bang. He danced with enormous fire and ‘Kasi’ and the energy levels in his performance were also quite high. Some of his dialogues will create a flutter among his fans.

Kajal Agarwal was there to give the visual feast and some tender moments. Role-wise there is nothing much for her but she made her presence felt wherever possible. Brahmanandam is the one to watch out for. In fact, the entire film takes a different turn as soon as he arrives and his versatility and expressions are entirely hilarious. Kelly Dorjee carried out his role as required, Mukesh Rishi was good and made his presence felt, Navdeep proved well with his villainy looks, M S Narayana gave his share of humor as Revenge Nageshwara Rao but didn’t work as per expectations, Vennela Kishore was apt and brought some laughs, Nasser was natural and exhibited different angle in him dancing like Kamal Hasan, Siddharth was very brief, Meenakshi Dixit is sizzling hot in a song, Suhasini was standard as mother. The rest of the artists were there to fill the screen and added good value to the film.

Movie Review
Story: Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde movie revolves around Karthik (Nitin) and Shravani(Nitya Menen). Karthik is a happy go lucky type person who falls flat for Shruti (Isha Talwar) after he sees her at his friend’s marriage. He will somehow get the phone number of Shruti and calls her up to strike a conversation. The conversations soon turns to love. Shravani, who comes from a wealthy background, will be in search of true love. She longs for the love of that man who doesn’t care for her beauty or money. When things work out for both Karthik and Shravani, they will get to know about the confusion. Shravani will be caught in a confused situation upon knowing that Karthik had actually fallen for Shruti at first sight. To know what will happen next, you need to watch the movie.
Analysis: First thing that needs a special mention not just about Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde but for any movie for that matter is the screenplay. Right from introduction of protagonist to the scenes that revolve around the four important characters, Harshavardhan did a tremendous job and worth an applause! The direction of the scenes were well executed and credit obviously goes to the director of the movie Vijay Kumar Konda. Some scenes were so well shot and camera work was really up to the mark. I. Andrew, the cinematographer, supposedly gave his best. Songs in the movie were good too. Thanks to Anoop Rubens for the splendid songs Tuhi rey and Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde. Pawan Kalyan’s song Yemayindo song from Tholiprema received maximum woos from the public. Clever play by the director in choosing this song! Ding ding ding song between Nitin and Jwala Gutta was just okay! Make up was not too heavy and actors looked natural. There are enough comedy scenes in the movie to relax your facial muscles!
Caste : Nitiin, Nithya Menen, Isha Talwar, Madhunandan

Performance: Nitin has certainly improved a lot. His body language was good and chemistry between him and Nitya Menen was definitely a plus point. Nitya gave her best and was looking gorgeous. Isha Talwar was okay. Thagubothu Ramesh and Ali were hilarious.

Story: Prabhu(Siddharth)a young guy from Anantapur, comes to Bangalore to finish his graduation. He gets admission into a famous college and falls in love with his junior Ritkika(Ashrtita Shetty). The couple spend some good times and during one of their outing, Ritika’s dad comes to know about their affair. With the intent of keeping his political track record clean, Ritika’s dad decides to eliminate Prabhu. He hires a professional killer in Manoj Menon(K K Menon) to finish Prabhu. As Prabhu comes to know about this dangerous plot, he decides to elope with Ritika and marry her secretly. Rest of the story is as to how Prabhu manages to get away from the professional killer and what happens at the end.
Fun time !
Performances: Siddarth underplayed his character very well. He perfectly grooved in the role of an engineering first year student even at this age. Ashrita Setty’s performance is quite normal. Though it’s a debut for her she couldn’t get brownie points due to lack of talent. KK Menon is ok. There is no scope to boast his specialty with the character given to him. Avinash played routine role. The fat dark guy among hero’s friends could deliver some laughs here and there. Coming to songs, ‘neevevvaro..’ is good. GV Prakash’s background score is impressive. This film scored well technically despite small film. Cinematography and editing are good. First half is good but second half is bumpy. The confrontation scenes of hero with police are not at all good. The scenes like puncturing the jeep tyres with nails made the film mundane. The intelligence shown in first half is completely missing in the second. WWW.CINESPRINT.COM | APRIL 2013

Movie Review Caste : Mohanlal, Kalabhavan
Shajon, Mamta Mohandas, Krish Sathar, Meera Jasmine
Music : Ratheesh Vega Director : Siddique Producer : Antony Perumbavoor
Story: The movie has Mohanlal as Chandrabose, a habitual drunkard, who starts showing all sorts of tantrums if he is denied the bottle for awhile. He happens to enter into the lives of a few IT professionals through Sharath (Krish J Sathar) whom he rescues from a suicide attempt. Bose with the help of Sharath’s friends Anu (Mamta Mohandas), Chinnu Kunjunni (Mithra Kurian) and Sharath’s sister Joe (Padmapriya), spells wonders and built a new team who starts a new IT firm. No prize for guessing that this firm is sure to catapult as the leader in the business within a few days. Boss’s halo and his wisdom starts bringing in plenty of followers and fans for him, mostly the women folk. They identifies that Boss is not in the verge of a divorce from his wife Achu(Meera Jasmine) but he turned an alcoholic only to forget the nasty accident that took her away from him. How our hero of virtues is given a new path of life by the ladies who got to success with his help forms the second half, which can be a test of your patience.
Performance: It’s Mohanlal and his presence that saves the film from ending up as a total disaster. He breathes life into the first half and takes it all forward with his characteristic performance and humour, but in the second half he too seems to lose grip over things. Shajon is good; his comedy timing is what works out in the first half. The second half doesn’t offer him much scope either. Mamta does full justice to her role, but, at times looks a bit distraught. Meera Jasmine has nothing much to do and her make-up seems to be overdone in most of the scenes. Though there is a charm about her, it seems the character could have been treated and presented in a different manner. Krish is just so so; his character could have been done by anyone, but if it was done by a talented actor, it could definitely have been better. The others don’t have much scope for performance.
‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ may not completely satisfy a die hard fan of Mohanlal. And for the rest there is precious little to offer.

Story: An interesting tale, the story begins with Bachchan (sudeep) who is a real estate person but believes in doing his business in a corporate way. He approaches the farmers of a village and takes their land and makes them the partners. On the other side, Bachchan also kills two bad guys (Nasser, Ashish Vidyarthi) posing as a mental patient. He now has two more people to kill in his list. Meanwhile, special cop Vijayakumar ( jagapathi babu) comes in Bachchan’s trail. Why is Bachchan after the bad guys? What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.
Interesting plot, well narrated twists, worth watching
Presentation: The director has come up with a thriller type of storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engaging. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay was excellent. The background score was strong and Cinematography was impressive. Three songs are worth listening. Editing was professional. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was appealing. Kicha Sudeep was perfect into the role and he showed varied emotions. Parul Yadav was hot and sexy. Bhavana Menon was beautiful. Nasser was natural, Ashish Vidyarthi was apt, Jagapathi Babu made his presence felt, Sadhu Kokila brought few smiles. 18

Synopsis: Aashiqui 2 is an upcoming Indian romanticaction film directed by Mohit Suri, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. The film went on floors in October 2011 with scenes shot in Cape Town, South Africa while in India, filming continued in Goa and Mumbai.
Story: Aashiqui 2 is a musical love story with Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Arohi Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) as the lead characters. Aashiqui 2 takes you through a musical journey of two lovers who go through love and hate, twists and turbulence, success and failure in their lives. Will they accept their success and live life together or do their egos separate them forever?? The Bhatts expressed this one is not a sequel to Aashiqui, but just a retelling of a love story. Even if then, does it actually work, even with the title adding value? In fact, when we first heard about Aashiqui 2 we, like almost everyone else, thought it would be a sequel to the first, which made Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal instant stars. That neither of them managed to follow up on that success is a different story, but the film told a tale that could possibly be continued into the future, perhaps into a new generation storytelling. Nevertheless, Mahesh Bhatt the producer and Mohit Suri, the director of the film, made it clear that the second film merely had the
same name; it was not connected with the first in any other way, they claimed. Logically speaking, the name itself should have ensured some degree of success but no, that is not what is happening, not even a bit! This one kind of reminded us of A Star is Born, or even its desi version Abhimaan, with none of the quality of either acting or filmmaking. Yes, Suri tries very hard; yes, the music is fairly decent; yes, the story has potential which is about two young people, Rahul (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Aarohi (Shraddha Kapoor) who are both singers, he the established star, she the wannabe. He helps her, she becomes the star while his career fades fast‌you know the usually highflown talk. The romance is sweet, but oldfashionedly so, with none of the steamy, sexy stuff that audiences are used to these days. Rather it could have been an emotional ride, but is rather more like a sizzling, stalling, sickening BEST bus conveying through the mean streets of Bollyland. While Shraddha looks pretty, fragile and earnest, Aditya does have his moments of glory, more so because he is good to look at while he manages to deliver his lines without sounding like a child reciting a lesson in the classroom and has a track record that we like, with London Dreams, Action Replayy and Guzaarish to his credit. What acqually work better than expected is the chemistry between the two young leads and it could be real and will probably spread some gossip!

The performances add plenty of weight to this story, with Konkana Sen Sharma and Emraan Hashmi shining brightest. Konkana’s performance is especially hairraising and you can’t help but doubt her even when she is showering love on the children. Emraan doesn’t lag behind either and gives us a confident, yet restrained show. Huma Qureshi plays the understanding better-half well but in the film’s last sequence, she goes a little overboard. We also wish that Kalki Koechlin, who plays Lisa Dutt, had a bigger role in the film. Out of all the characters, we felt hers was a little flaky and could have etched out better. The beautiful m u s i c , especially the track ‘Lautungi M a i n ’ , compliments the mood of the film. Far from the childish animated stuff we are used to, the film’s first half.

BAADSHAH
has all the commercial elements that
his fans expect from him and there is a good dose of emotion also, which may go well with the family audience. But the best way to enjoy this film is to go with an open mind. As such, this is a typical Sreenu Vaitla film and his formula and pattern is the same right from the beginning till the end. With a huge star-cast and a technical crew involved in this film, you can expect a crisp screenplay and direction in this film. Director Sreenu Vaitla has used NTR’s style and presence well in Baadshah, which boasts of Sreenu’s signature style of narration. In this flick too, Sreenu has focused on powerful dialogues which will satisfy cinema goers. Kajal is as usual an eye-candy. She’s got a good role and has done justice to her performance. While for NTR, the role is pretty much a cake-walk. And he has come up with a superb performance in every sense and has occupied pretty much major part of the film. Also he’s carried it on his shoulders and added plenty of panache and style to the proceedings. He has surely given a powerhouse performance. Also, NTR’s comic timing is good, and he manages a commendable show. However, his Telangana accent was a surprise package for the audiences and his characterisation was well etched. Full marks to the script writers. The actor’s powerful chops and dancemoves enthralled everyone. His versatility in acting and emoting of various expressions are impressive. As usual, he rocks with his style. Sr NTR’s medley performed by the Jr. NTR was a delight to the Nandamuri fans. Tollywood’s most successful Director
Srinu Vaitla
is Tollywood’s most successful director. For all his success he believes that his comedy style has attracted all kinds of audiences a lot. He swears that ‘Dookudu’ success has strengthened his comedy style which eventually raised the audience’s expectations on his latest release ‘Baadshah’ due to which he had to undergo immense pressure.
Now
in theaters, Baadshah movie is sweeping the box office with opening collections in India and abroad.
He is from the village of Kandulapalem, East Godavari District. His first mainstream movie as a director was Nee Kosam (1999) starring Ravi Teja and Maheshwari. Though the movie was an average flick at the box office, it was critically acclaimed. He shot to fame with his second movie Anandam, released in the year 2001. He made his own impression on the Telugu Cinema comedy. This can be observed in his movies Venky, Dhee, Dubai Seenu and Ready. In his 13 years main stream filmmaking, he is associated with 12 movies as director, six as screenplay writer, four as story writer and two as supporting cast. He played cameo in Rainbow and Parama Veera Chakra movies. For most of his films music was given by Devi Sri Prasad. For all of his films from Venky onwards Gopimohan and Kona Venkat were script writers.

faced immense pressure due to high expectations on ‘Baadshah’ since it was coming soon after ‘Dookudu’. However, it made me forget my one year efforts which I had put in for the best output. My belief in comedy and the audience accepting it is the only reason for my continuous success. NTR gave a warm hug seeing the audience’s reaction. What more do I need?
There may be Dookudu impact on Baadshah
Every

He can compete with himself only in delivering the dialogue on a single shot and performing the dance step without any rehearsal. When the title ‘Baadshah’
was suggested he specially requested for that title.
A director should prepare a script keeping a hero in mind
According
to me, a director should prepare a script keeping a hero in mind. Only then he can do complete justice to the story. While I penned ‘Dookudu’ story visualizing Mahesh Babu in the character, I designed ‘Baadshah’ especially for

In
order to reach the audience’s expectations, I tried my best to come out with more specialties like Mahesh Babu’s voice-over, Siddharth’s special role, Navdeep’s negative role, Simbu’s song, etc. I’m very glad on Mahesh Babu’s voiceover for the film. When I requested him for it with the idea of having a hero’s voice-over for another hero’s movie, his response was instant.

Nagarjuna’s point
When
I first made ‘Nee Kosam’, Nagarjuna commented on the film saying that it’s good but it would have been even better had it entertained the audience with some comedy. It took a while for me to catch that point. But there is no turning back after I realized it. So in case I do any film without comedy, it will only

They treat me like an ATM: Anjali Anjali
has gone missing from a hotel in the posh Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad, police said on Tuesday April 08th. Anjali had reportedly called some Tamil media houses and complained that her aunt, Bharati Devi and Tamil film director Kalanjayam, were abusing her and using her like an ATM. Kalanjayam had launched Anjali in Tamil films and Bharati Devi had brought her from her native village in rural Andhra Pradesh to Chennai when she was still in intermediate and helped her get a break in films. Anjali reportedly said she feared for her life. Putting an end to all speculations and controversies, missing Anjali finally reappeared on Friday, April 12. Anjali headed to the West Zone DCP office in Hyderabad where the Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu interrogated her and recorded her statement. Later during an interaction with media, Anjali claimed that she would detail about her “missing” episode shortly. Meanwhile, Bharati Devi filed a police complaint alleging that Anjali may have been kidnapped and is being forced to issue statements against her and director Kalanjiyam. A police official was quoted as saying, “She (Bharati Devi) believes that someone could have kidnapped Anjali. She fears that her kidnapper might be forcing Anjali to allege harassments charges against her.”

Banthipoola Janaki Baadshah movie did fairly well at the box office and everyone associated with the film can rightly share the credit of movie’s success. And not to forget the lyricists and musician behind songs that came out of so well. There’s this song named Bathipula Janaki. Noted pop singer Daler Mehendi has sung for this Banthipula Janaki song. The lyrics of the song were neatly penned down by Ramajogayya Shastry. It is known that Kajal Agarwal keeps on talking about some weird Banthi (ball) philosophy in this movie. Keeping that trait of the character, Ramajogayya Shastry wrote the lyrics. The dance too came out pretty well. So, it’s no exaggeration to state that Banthipula Janaki song a crucial role in Baadshah audio success!

Milan Cathedral – Milan, Italy
Milan Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Milano; Lombard: Domm de Milan) is the cathedral church of Milan, Italy. Dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente (Saint Mary Nascent), it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Cardinal Angelo Scola. The Gothic cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. It is the fifth largest cathedral in the world and the largest in the Italian state territory. The plan consists of a nave with four side-aisles, crossed by a transept and then followed by choir and apse. The height of the nave is about 45 meters, the highest Gothic vaults of a complete church (less than the 48 meters of Beauvais Cathedral, which was never completed). The roof is open to tourists (for a fee), which allows many a close78

up view of some spectacular sculpture that would otherwise be unappreciated. The roof of the cathedral is renowned for the forest of openwork pinnacles and spires, set upon delicate flying buttresses. The cathedral’s five broad naves, divided by 40 pillars, are reflected in the hierarchic openings of the façade. Even the transepts have aisles. The nave columns are 24.5 metres (80 ft) high, and the apsidal windows are 20.7 x 8.5 metres (68 x 28 feet). The huge building is of brick construction, faced with marble from the quarries which Gian Galeazzo Visconti donated in perpetuity to the cathedral chapter. Its maintenance and repairs are very complicated. Milan’s cathedral has recently developed a new lighting system, based on LED lights.

Men's mentality in India a problem:
Ekta Kapoor Producer Ekta Kapoor, who has been behind controversial films like ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’, ‘Kya Super Cool Hai Hum’ and ‘Ragini MMS’, believes Indian men need to change their mentality towards women. “Mentality of men in India is becoming a problem. Men do not feel any social responsibility. Our culture is stopping women everytime. The main idea behind making ‘The Dirty Picture’ was to make people aware of women’s sexuality. “When John Abraham goes shirtless nobody has a problem but when our actresses do that everyone wants to chop off that scene,” Ekta said while speaking on the topic of ‘Sex, Nudity, Dance Numbers and the kiss’ during the Centenary Film Festival here.
Kissing on screen is no big deal: Priya Anand “I’ve already done intimate scenes in Nootrenbadhu and Ko Ante Koti. I’ve locked lips in both the films. But the scenes are always aesthetically shot. Thankfully, no one’s pointed a finger at me and said I look vulgar while doing the scenes. I don’t have a problem in acting in intimate scenes as long as it goes with the story and doesn’t look forced,” Priya Said

There are some who have lost oodles of weight and others who have added some! Some grew their hair longer, some chopped it off! Some have hardly changed over the years, with or without the assistance of plastic surgery. Some have aged garcefulluy, growing more mature with passing years, yet others have grown younger!
