nce Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara! is the story of an underworld don, Shohaib (Akshay Kumar), who killed his mentor in the past (Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai) to gain supremacy and is now the ruling mafia king.

hoaib’s sole interest is the supremacy of Mumbai, but his heart is swayed by a lovely lady called Jasmine (Sonakshi Sinha). In the movie, Shoaib is like a godfather to Aslam (Imran Khan). Aslam was spotted by Shoaib during one of his visits to the slums.

hen Shoaib’s passion for Jasmine grows into something more, there arises a rift between the young Aslam and godfather Shoaib. The two vie for Jasmine’s love.

Sonakshi Sinha: This beautiful actress plays the role Jasmine who is an innocent starlet. Her performance is fine, but her presence seems minimal in the movie.
Imran Khan: He is Aslam in the movie and is an ambitious young lad. He starts off pretty well by giving us some good action and chase in the train scene.

ittle did the 40-year-old Rahul know while boarding the Chennai Express that this trip would prove to be the most eventful journey of his life. Even in his wildest dreams he couldn’t have possibly though that wooing the doe-eyed Meenamma on train in “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”style would land him up in deep mess.

t all starts after Rahul boards the Chennai Express where he meets Meenamma, the daughter of a powerful South don (Sathyaraj), who takes the train to flee from her imposing dad who wants marry her off to a villainous fiance whom she doesn’t love (Nikitin Dheer). What unfolds next is a spate of uncanny but extremely funny situations that sees them fall in love in the most bizarre way.

Shahrukh Khan is splendid and delightful. Even at 47, Khan retains his old boyish charm onscreen. Though there’s a bit of overacting in parts by SRK, on the whole, he’s the soul of Chennai Express.
Deepika is a complete stunner. She lets herself loose and surrenders to her character completely. Her performance is impressive.
Nikitin Dheer does justice to his villainous act.
Chennai Express is yet another feather in Rohit Shetty’s cap. The movie lives up to its colossal hype and hoopla.

ushant is good at breaking up love. That forms the crux of this love story. While he breaks up couples for a living, using the marriage register office as his adda, he runs into the glamorous Shanvi. The girl has her own agenda up her sleeve. She approaches the hero to break up her sister’s love story for fear of her rowdy dad. Predictably, the lead pair fall in love along the way.

rue to its title, the film is full of lies. It would have been a source of satisfaction if they actually worked. Sai Ram Shankar plays Satya, who tries to woo his lady love. The girl in question is Esther, also Satya. A lot of lies lead to their union. Naga Babu plays Tower star, a true blue powerstar fan, who tries to create trouble. The rest of the story is how the lady Satya protests against the male Satya’s lies and how he wins her back.

nitially, Vijay, who plays a dancer in the film, runs a dance school in Sydney, where he meets the female lead Amala Paul. The actress joins his dance school. Soon, the duo fall in love. Vijay’s father Sathya Raj is worshipped by the common people in Mumbai. What makes Vijay to turn into a mass leader, forms the story of Thalaivaa.
Vijay The movie is a treat to the Vijay’s fans. He will be seen in the character, which has two shades - the one as a mass leader and the other a dancer.
Amala Paul plays the love interest role of Vijay and she shares a good on-screen chemistry with him. The movie has a twist when her actual character is revealed.
Thalaivaa appears like an attempt to give Vijay a complete mass look again. His fans, who used to call him ‘Thalapathy’, will give him a promotion to ‘Thalaivaa’. It is must watch for Vijay fans.

What attracted you to the part of Meena?
T
here’s wasn’t much thought behind it. I was approached and because of it being a Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh film, more than anything else, I heard it with an open mind. The script is hilarious and the narration was so good I felt like I was watching the film. I was on, I was sold. Rohit told me I have to speak Tamil and knowing the language is a prerequisite. I felt it would be easy because I have grown up in the south but it took me four-five days to get a grasp of the accent. Speaking Tamil was not a problem because I am a Kannadiga from Bangalore who was surrounded by Tamilians. But, I was struggling with speaking Hindi with a Tamil accent. We didn’t want to make it spoofy, but it is a comedy so it has to be funny and endearing. We hope it does not offend anyone.
While there are some who are praising your accent there are others who say the representation is offensive to Tamilians.
I
find it really strange that people start reacting without seeing the product. Also I am a south Indian, so why would I participate in a film that spoofs south Indians, which this film doesn’t. Besides me, my director is south Indian and 90% of our
unit is Tamilian. My point of view is that girls in our films have always played the Delhi girl, Bombay girl, Bengali girl and the clichéd Punjabi girl, so why not a Tamilian girl? The background gives the character some character. The film is about the diversity in our country, cultures, and languages and shows it in good light. Irrespective of your culture and language, love conquers all. Even if you don’t understand each other’s language, you understand each other when you are in love.
Was it in any way different working with Shah Rukh Khan again after debuting with him in Om Shanti Om?
T
his time I bullied him a lot. While on my first film I was like ‘Oh my god, I’m working with Shah Rukh Khan’. I am more or less a shy person; I take time to open up. But maybe because I have worked with him before there is more of a comfort zone. I will always feel slightly differently towards him than I do for my other co-stars because I started out with him. Also there is respect for him as an artist who has been at the top of his game for so many years. Compare this to, say, Ranbir (Kapoor). With him there is a taking for granted. We started in the same year, our films released on the same day, we are more-or-less the same age, and neither of us has to think twice about how we behave with each other.

Hundreds of celebrities from Telugu Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi film industries swarmed into this grand wedding hall and blessed the newly married couple.

he muhurtam of Tejaswini’s wedding was at 8.52 am on Wednesday. Balakrishna had made grand arrangement for the ceremony. Art director Anand Sai took care of constructing and decorating the mandap for the wedding, while cinematographer Ram Prasad handled lighting for the glitzy event.

f there’s anyone around today who can claim to be the oldest superstar of Telugu cinema, it’s Akkineni Nageswara Rao. This living legend of Telugu cinema, who has to his credit the most respected films awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke, says he’s not a retired man yet.

ays the thespian, who is all set to act with his son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya, in an upcoming film. For someone who has been reigning the Telugu film industry for almost 80 years, ANR, as he is fondly called, had very humble beginnings.

orn to a poor farmer in Ramapuram, Krishna district, in 1924, he studied only up to class 5 since his family couldn’t afford to send him to school after that.

he farm boy, who never imagined that he would cross the borders of his village or district, toured all over the world as an ambassador of art and culture. Dr. Nageswara Rao was invited as a State Guest by the United States of America, England, France and Germany in 1964 and USSR in 1972 besides some other countries in the continent to study the Film Craft and Theatre Arts in the respective countries. He had visited Australia in 1967 leading the delegates for the Indian Entry Film, Antasthulu, at the Sydney Film Festival. He also led a high level Film Delegation to Mauritius. All through the world, the people felicitated Dr. Akkineni with love and honour.
I
t was in 1941, at the age of 17, that he made his debut in the Telugu film, Dharmapatni, in which he played the role of the protagonist’s friend. ANR, as he’s fondly referred to, was discovered by chance at the Vijayawada railway station by the noted film producer, Ghantasala Balaramaiah, a popular film producer of that time, and was immediately offered the lead role in his upcoming movie Seeta Rama Jananam. He played the role of Lord Rama in that film.

mong other things, Nageswara Rao is credited for influencing Telugu film producers and creating a base for Telugu films in Hyderabad. The Telugu film industry in its early days was based out of Madras (now Chennai) in Tamil Nadu. The new state of Andhra Pradesh was carved out from the Madras Presidency on 1 November 1956 and several leaders opined that in order to create a separate identity for the Telugu film industry, it had to be based out of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. ANR was one of the first actors of that period who insisted on moving the Telugu film center from Chennai to Hyderabad. He established his own 22 acre production studio/house, Annapurna Studios in the heart of Hyderabad, to facilitate this.
