Love leads to marriage and the trauma begins after that, when the antagonist Rakesh (Riteish) starts his revenge game. The cat and mouse game of who is the villain and what happens next is the story which is weaved perfectly.

Final Word Autonagar Surya is Naga Chaitanyaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s most anticipated movie. The film was hit with financial hurdles and took two long years to hit the theatres. Deva Katta directed Autonagar Surya and Samantha played the female lead.

OOHALU GUSAGUSALADE Story Venky [Naga Shourya] is a video jockey in Uday TV. His ambition is to become a news reader as it also his fatherâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s dream to see him in the hot chair. But he lacks opportunities and tries every possible option to impress his boss Uday [Srinivas Avasarala]. A marriage proposal arrives for Uday and he falls in love with that girl on seeing her picture.

Final Word Oohalu Gusagusalade is a rom-com movie but attracts majorly multiplex audience. We have to see how this film does in B and C centers.

Saivam Story â&#x20AC;&#x153;Saivam is about family values and about instill lost family traditions into the audiences, Kathiresan (Nasser) is a respectable person living in Kottaiyur Village. He stays rooted in the village since he does not want to depart from traditional life style and farming. One of his sons, along with his wife and daughter Tamilselvi (Baby Sara) accompanies his parents in the village.

Once they accidently met with a fisherman(Mohanlal), which changes their life style and policies, what happend next forms the main crux of the movie. As of now, no story of the movie has been revealed out from Koothara team.

In short, Koothara is a one time watchable flick. There are lot to see and laugh during the first half but, the movie disappoints during the second half. The movie is an entertainer for sure but, only at parts. Its not a film to watch with high expectations.

Bangalore Days Story Movie is a fun narrative about three young people who crossover from Kerala to Bangalore to dream, discover and explore. Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salman are cousins. They individually took a different paths after reaching Bangalore, to fulfill their dreams.

Final Word A perfect youth entertainer. Undoubtedly, Dulquar Salman is back on track after couple of box office flops. Go for it ! Strictly recommended. A must watch movie.

Dhoom’s Ali quits acting Actor Uday Chopra, after 14 long years of filmy career, has decided to quit acting and focus purely on film production. Uday made his debut with Mohabbatein [2000] and later featured in the successful Dhoom series. Uday’s acting career wasn’t quite fruitful despite hailing from such a stupendous production house. However Uday Chopra said he would make a comeback if offered a role in the fourth edition of Dhoom series.

Sharwanand refuses remuneration! Hero Sharwanand is one such lead actor who came up with out of the box films irrespective of the results. Now the actor showed his other side by refusing to take remuneration for his upcoming movie ‘Run Raja Run’. ohalu Gusagusalade is a romantic comedy entertainer, which has been inspired by French play Cyrrano De Bergerac. Taking a cue from Hollywood filmmaker Woody Allen film, Srinivas Avasarala has written a brilliant script, which oozes out freshness in terms of humour. He has composed some of the best comedy moments in the film. His punch lines are also sure to rock the film goers.

Post interval, the narration goes bit slow, but a few comedy scenes like bathroom bluetooth talk entertain you in the second half. It has routine climax.

artistes have also done justice to their repspective roles. Oohalu Gusagusalde has decent production values and Kalyani Koduriâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s music is the main highlight in the technical front. His soundtracks and background score will surely impress the viewers. Other tech departments like cinematography, dialogue, costumes and art direction have delivered commendable job. The editing is also good, but trimming of a few dragging scenes could have made the film a better watch.

rinivas Avasarala, has put an impression on the audience’s minds by showing great ease in his performance in ‘Ashta Chemma’. Later he worked for few films as an actor and writer as well before he turned director for this romantic comedy ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’. Sai Korrapati of ‘Eega’ and ‘Andala Rakshasi’ fame, who has passion for small films with good content, encouraged this young talent to bring out his directorial skills. Introducing Naga Shourya as hero and Rashi Khanna of ‘Madras Café’ as heroine, Srinivas Avasarala made his directorial debut with ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’ under Sai Korrapati Production banner with Rajani Korrapati as producer and Sai Sivani as its presenter. The film has hit theaters overseas in over 200 theaters. On this occasion, an interview has been given by actor cum director Srinivas Avasarala. Here are few excerpts from his interview.

Could you brief a little about the film ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’? The story of ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’ revolves around a guy who aspires to become a news anchor and how changes occur in his life with a girl’s entry. It’s a complete romantic comedy film. Posani and Prithvi’s characters will catch audience’s attention. How did you choose the title ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’? We almost thought of 40-50 titles to get the aptly suitable title for the film. One fine day while I was listening to an old song ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade……’ from the film ‘Bandipotu’, I felt that the first line got connected to the story. That’s how I selected the title ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’.

Can you tell us about the casting of the film? Around 2000 applications have come for the casting call ad which we gave for the film. Naga Shourya’s photos caught my attention. I was also impressed with his show reel and okayed him instantly. Similarly Rasi Khanna’s performance in ‘Madras Café’ was pleasing. So I approached her and signed for the film. She played a tricky role in the film. I’m very happy with the casting of this film. Both perfectly suited for the lead characters and showed great ease in acting. They did cent percent justice to their roles. We have learnt that you played a character in the film too? Yes, you heard it right. I played the CEO of a TV channel. Producer Sai never encouraged me to do any role and suggested me to focus completely on direction. But I managed to

shoot few scenes in two days in his absence. Later he couldn’t deny it after watching the rushes. Okay, what would you actually want to be? Actor or director? I worked as an actor and writer for few films. And for the first time I directed a film. I prepared three pucca scripts and choose to do this film first because it’s a safe bet for the producer. I still have two scripts in hand. On the other hand, I got bored with comedy and romantic roles. I aim to do variety roles and wish to be part of a good film. So I neither want to settle down completely as a director or an actor. How did you get the opportunity to work with producer Sai Korrapati? I prepared the script of ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’ with the intention to direct the film by myself and approached several producers with it. All like the script but had their own reasons for not making the film. At one point of time, few producers even planned to make the film with my script and other directors. But finally, my script went into the hands of Sai Korrapati garu. Kalyani Koduri introduced me to him and that’s how I got the opportunity to direct ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’. Songs are beautiful too! Yes, Kalyani’s music is an asset to the film. He composed beautiful songs. Response was fabulous for all songs. Sai Korrapati’s production values and aggressive publicity have helped your film to reach theaters fast. Absolutely! Off late many are entering into production, but they are not focusing

on publicity. While there are several films lying in cans without publicity, many others are still on sets. Nevertheless, Sai garu supported me in every aspect right from the time he decided to make this film. We started the regular shooting in October. Since then he facilitated with all requirements to complete the film quickly. And I hope I lived up to his expectations with my dedication and hardwork. I along with my team constantly worked hard for the best output. Despite ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’ being a small film, Sai garu gave aggressive publicity and released it in good theaters. I’m very happy for that. I consider myself lucky for getting a producer like him. What’s next for Srinivas Avasarala after ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’? I’ve signed yet another film for producer Sai Korrapati garu. Film with Naga Chiatanya has not yet been finalized. I’ve decided not to take any hasty decision and step forward with proper planning. On the other hand, I’m playing a role in Gopichand’s film which is being made under UV Creations banner. I’m also doing a character in Allari Naresh’s ‘Bandipotu’.

Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in the 2012 college romance “Student of the Year”. In February, she won over critics with her performance in the offbeat film “Highway”, playing a woman who starts caring for her kidnapper.

In the romantic comedy “2 States”, which opened in cinemas on Friday, the 21-year-old plays a woman from Tamil Nadu who has to battle cultural stereotypes to marry her Punjabi lover. Alia, the daughter of Bollywood film-maker Mahesh Bhatt, spoke to Reuters about her role in “2 States”, what the film “Highway” did for her acting career, and why she considers herself “mediocre”. Here are excerpts from the interview: You are playing a woman from Tamil Nadu in “2 States”. Were there any apprehensions about playing this role?

At first I thought I would really have to work on my accent, but after speaking to my director, I realized that this is a modern Tamil girl and she doesn’t have the heavy accent. Also, there is a justification for it, which is that her family has travelled and she’s moved around a lot. Given that the film relies on cultural stereotypes for humour, were you afraid about these becoming cliches?

I was also one of those people who believed in stereotypes. But now, when people ask me, are you playing a south Indian, I say no, I am playing a Tamilian. There is a big difference. It will be an eyeopener to a lot of people. We have tried consciously not to make any character caricaturish, but to make their worlds relatable and believable. When a character says “Yeh toh Madrasi hai”, that how most people would characterize a south Indian. Or the house of a Tamil person would look different from that of a Punjabi. That is how we’ve tried to characterize it, rather than having everyone saying “aiyyo” all the time. That is not how people talk in real life.

What about the stereotypes you’ve had?

Yeah, like you have these notions that all south Indians don’t eat chicken, or that they don’t drink, and are not open to anything but their culture. Or that a Gujarati will not eat meat or that a Maharashtrian will only speak in Marathi.

Your performance in “Highway” got a lot of accolades. Was it difficult to move from a rather intense movie to a film like “2 States”?

It was obviously difficult for me to get away from the emotion of “Highway”, because I had become so emotionally involved with that character. But “2 States” looks like it might be normal, but even that is difficult. Just to have an organic, normal conversation, without making it sound like a written dialogue. In “Highway”, it is about this girl who is discovering herself. In “2 States”, I had no business discovering this person or bringing anything of myself into this character. Like colouring outside the lines in a picture would be a mess, colouring outside the character would be a mess in this film.

As a performer, did “Highway” break boundaries for you? I am not sure your first film did that. No, it didn’t. In “Student of the Year”, I was testing waters. “Student” gave me reach, that she is a Hindi film heroine, can look into the camera and make faces, and dance. It didn’t give me the actor tag and I know it. I never thought I’d get a film that would establish my acting credentials so soon, but I did get it. “Highway” made me as an actor – it broke me. I found an emotional bank inside me that I didn’t know I had. I thought I was a very shallow person and didn’t think I had any depth. I didn’t have much to worry about in life – everything was put out on a platter for me. But “Highway” gave me a feeling that something is missing, and I found that at the end of the film. So are you more confident now? I find myself being very complacent. That scares me. A certain sense of honesty and awareness goes a long way and people can see that. I want to constantly be very thoughtful when it comes to my work, because if that goes away, I will lose the spark. Isn’t that characteristic of someone new to the industry? Most people lose their sense of earnestness once they’ve spent some time in the field. I hope it stays. My dad always told me that if you constantly doubt yourself; if you constantly feel you are not worth it, then that is where the learning will come from. Doubt is the key to knowledge, and I strongly believe that. 66

So will there always be scope for doubt in your thought-process? It depends on how much it is. If I am constantly doubting, then I will go a little crazy. It is about not having the know-it-all attitude. You have to give yourself to the director, and not go against his vision. Like when I was doing “Highway”, it was not a performance. It was my life — it was something that I gave a lot to and forgot that it was actually a film. That was why I was very irritated when the film was releasing, because I felt like I was putting up my life and emotions on display for people to see. You’ve been referred to as one of the breakout stars. Do you believe that about yourself? I think

I will constantly think I am mediocre. I am selfobsessed, but in terms of looking at myself in the mirror all the time. But not in terms of thinking that I have made it. That will just come back and bite me. So even if I had made it, I don’t think I will see it. Unless I make a 500 crore rupee (around $83 million) hit because of me, which will never happen. Any plans of working with your dad? I want to, but it’s been put off so many times. There have been talks, but it hasn’t worked out. Whenever it will happen, it will be a big deal. It will also be stressful. Everyone else has done well with them, so I will have to do it too.

K.V. Reddy was a great indian film director, writer, producer and production manager in Telugu cinema, known for his pioneering work in folklore, social and fantasy films. His film Donga Ramudu (1955) was archived in the curriculum of the Film and Television Institute of India Patala Bhairavi got critical acclaim at India International Film Festival in 1952. He has garnered three National Film Awards.

K. V. Reddy was born on 1 July 1912 in Tadipatri, Anantapur district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. He was awarded a BSc in Physics by Madras Presidency College before starting his career in film industry as a cashier for Vauhini Studios in 1938. Reddy went on to direct movies such as Bhakta Potana and Yogi Vemana, with Chittor V. Nagaiah as lead actor. His 1951 production of Patala Bhairavi, starring S. V. Ranga Rao and N. T. Rama Rao, was a hit and was screened for 100 days in 28 centers. Maya Bazaar is regarded as his magnum opus, while Donga Ramudu (1955) is included in the curriculum of the Film and Television Institute of India. K. V. Reddy had four sons and five daughters. He died on 15 September 1972.

Legend of Bollywood Dilip Kumar was born Yusuf Khan into a Hindkospeaking Pathan family of 12 children on 11 December 1922 in the Qissa Khawani Bazaar area of Peshawar, in what is now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Dilip sahabs father Lala Ghulam Sarwar, was a fruit merchant who owned orchards in Peshawar and Deolali (in Maharashtra, India). Dilip Kumar did schooling from prestigious Barnes School, Deolali, near Nasik. In the late 1930s, his family of 12 members relocated to Mumbai. Around 1940, Dilip Kumar left home for Pune where he started his career as a canteen owner and a dry fruit supplier. In 1943, actress Devika Rani, who owned Bombay Talkies spotted Dilip Kumar in Aundh military canteens Pune, and cast him with a lead role in the film Jwar Bhata (1944), which marked Dilip Kumar’s entry into the Hindi film industry. Hindi author Bhagwati Charan Varma gave him the screen name Dilip Kumar. It is believed that Dilip Kumar could speak a number of languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Hindko, and Pashto.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE INDIAN CINEMA Needless to say that Dilip Kumar is a legendary Indian film actor also known as Tragedy King, and described as “the ultimate method actor” by Satyajit Ray. He debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata in 1944 produced by Bombay Talkies. His career has

spanned over six decades and with over 60 films. He starred in films of a variety of genres such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), the historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and the social Ganga Jamuna (1961). In 1976, Dilip Kumar took a five-year break from film performances and returned with a character role in the film Kranti (1981) and continued his career playing leading roles in films such as Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) and Saudagar (1991). His last film was Qila (1998). Dilip Kumar has acted with actress Vyjayanthimala the most, where they both had acted seven films together including the former’s home production Gunga Jamuna resulting in great on-screen chemistry and an alleged affair between them. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan award in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his contributions towards Indian cinema and nominated him to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian parliament for a term. He is the first recipient of Filmfare Best Actor Award (1954) and still holds the record for the most number of Filmfare awards won for that category with eight wins. Critics acclaimed him among one of the greatest actors in the history of Hindi cinema. In a blog post, Amitabh Bachchan has described Dilip Kumar as the greatest actor ever.

INFLUENTIAL PERSONALITIES OF HINDI MOVIES Now, coming to Madhubala, she was was born Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi, on 14 February 1933 to parents of Afghan origin, Ataullah Khan and Begum Ayeesha, and was the fifth of eleven children. Madhubala’s orthodox middle-class family lived in Delhi. After her father lost his job at the Imperial Tobacco Company in Peshawar Pakistan he relocated his family to Mumbai. There the family endured many hardships. Madhubala’s three sisters and two brothers died at the age of five and six. The dock explosion and fire of April 14, 1944 wiped out their small home. The family were only saved because they had gone to see a film at a local theater. Accompanied his six remaining daughters to provide for, Khan, and the young Madhubala, began

to pay frequent visits to Bombay film studios to look for work. At the age of 9, this was Madhubala’s introduction to the movie industry, which would provide financial help to her family. Madhubala is regarded as one of the most influential personalities of Hindi movies. Madhubala received wide recognition for her performances in films like Mahal (1949), Amar (1954), Mr. & Mrs. ‘55 (1955), Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958), Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Barsaat Ki Raat (1960). Madhubala’s performance in Mughal-eAzam established her as an iconic actress of Hindi Cinema. Her last film, Jwala, although shot in the 1950s, was released in 1971.
