They board a wrong train and end up in Hyderabad. As soon as they land, Alludu Seenu gets the shock of his life after looking at Bhai(Prakash Raj), a dreaded mafia don in Hyderabad as Bhai looks exactly the same as his uncle. Oka Criminal Prema Katha Story Oka Criminal Prema Katha is directed by an award winning filmmaker, Sunil Kumar Reddy. Yesteryear’s child artist Manoj Nandan is making his debut as hero with this film. Bindu [Priyanka Pallavi] and Seenu [Manoj Nandam], are teen love birds in Nellimarla village. She requests Seenu to come Vizag and he finally joins as a boy in Bindu’s college canteen. Bindu makes weird wishes and asks Seenu to kill her uncle. Why did she wish to kill her caring uncle and where will this lead to forms the plot.

But the communication between the two becomes very complicated as Bhai is an English illiterate and Michelle hardly understands Malayalam. The rest of the story develops in the grounds of the funny communication between Malick Bhai and Michelle.

As per their astrologer, in the future he should marriage a girl whose star is Chothi Nakshatra, only then will he prosper in life. The boy grows up to be a young man, who is unsuccessful in anything he does.
Final Word Overall, Jai Lalitha is good comedy entertainer, which is a show of Sharan. It will be a big treat for the fans of the comedy actor. 20

Behind the Movie Drishyam: A proven subject in Malayalm is now remade in Telugu with the same title. Venkatesh, Meena played the main leads supported by a good star cast. Let us see how far director Sripriya could match the depth and execution of Malayalam version? In the Movie Drishyam: Story begins in Rajavaram village near Vizianagaram town where in lives a cable operator Ram Babu (Venkatesh) and his cute little middle class family of wife Jyothi (Meena) and two daughters Anju, Anu (Baby Ester). Passing through pure middle class family with joyous moments, tragedy strikes in the form of IG Officer Geetha (Nadia)’s spoilt son canning an ugly video clipping of Anju changing her dress. Upon blackmailing Anju using this video clipping, he is killed and dumped in their backyard. Real problem starts for Ram Babu when IG orders for whereabouts of her son using local SI (Sameer), Corrupt Constable (Ravi Kale) and a Good Samaritan (Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao). What kind of pains did Ram Babu’s family pass through? Finally, were they caught in police trap? All these form rest. Values of the Movie Drishyam: Basic element one must accept about this film is based on a simple psychological fact that, visuals make more impact on human brains than sounds. That is why the title of ‘Drishyam’ is perfect. Although there are not so great visuals or production grandeur on screen, it’s the magical screenplay of Jitu Jospeh got its re-approval in Telugu version after it success saga in Malayalam and Kannada. There is more of common sense and less of mind teasing puzzles in the story which can connect with any genre of audience. Hats Off, to Malayalam writers for making Indian cinema stand on top. A film made with meager 5 to 6 Crores budget collecting nearly 50 Crores

and winning appreciations for remakes in different languages shows class a part in this screenplay. Enough off Jitu Sir! Now it’s about director Sripriya. Although she bought the mood and momentum with curiosity factor rising to peak in second half, she has fell completely flat in first half. HusbandWife romance between Venky, Meena and comedy between Venky, Sapthagiri or the establishment of Hotel Owner, Police Constable etc have spread the boredom. On any relative basis, ‘Drishyam’ first half is more of a scrap to second half. Cinematography of Gopal Reddy is pretty ordinary work. Marthand K Venkatesh’s sharpness in editing can be sensed. Sharath’s music is below mediocrity. Darling Swamy, Paruchuri’s pen power is high at even intervals. Production values of Suresh Babu (Suresh Productions) resembled a middle class producer. On performance front, Venkatesh lived up to his caliber more as a grueling father than as romantic husband or as a simple cable operating businessman. His chemistry with second daughter Baby Ester stood as central emotionally touching feature. Meena did complete justice and the girl who has done the first daughter is also fine. Nadia had the pain of her son missing well portrayed. Naresh needs special applause for putting up a sympathetic show with clean and neat dialogues. Ravi Kale was cruel, Sameer was good. Chalapathi Rao, Annapurna, Sapthagiri, Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao, Chaitanya Krishna etc did their portions well.
Out of the Movie Drishyam: This film is a classic example approbating the tastes of South Indian audience towards enjoying new genres. A middle class family drama permuted with murder mystery is something sounds new. More importantly, when audiences are prior informed and shown with murder in this straight narration, then screen writer and director needs above the excellent grades to make viewers stick to seats with sustained chill in their spines. This happens only when superbly performing artists are available at disposal. Venkatesh, Meena, Baby Esther, Ravi Kale, Nadia and Naresh have fit so apt into their characters. This is the major reason why a below average first half is well balanced with a super hit second half. You feel as if, is it the same team which worked for second half has worked for first half? Above all these, family audience who admire Venkatesh for clean family entertainers can safely bet on this film. For those enthusiastic patrons (like me), who even watched the original Malayalam version can still laud our Telugu team. Well done, producer Suresh Babu and hero Venkatesh Babu for experimenting with a right non-commercial subject. On a final note, a good first half could have raised my rating bar but for now below rating is definitely worth for.

Apart from this Venkatesh has been in headlines who is in a spree of signing multi-starrer movies. After teaming with Mahesh Babu and Ram, Venky will be now seen with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan in ‘Gopala Gopala’ which is the remake of Bollywood’s Oh My God!. Freshly, Venkatesh is approached by director Veeru Potla, which might also have Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in other lead role. For an actor like Venky who won seven Andhra Pradesh Nandi awards and five Filmfare awards, adds more advantage to his image but Venky is not bothered about it and is just focused to give the so called “good cinema” to the audience. Never mind the box office result.

Araku Valley is a Hill station in Visakhapatnam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is a valley in the Eastern Ghats inhabited by different tribes. Araku Valley is one of the least polluted and less commercialized tourist destinations in South India.
Surrounded by the Lush green forest, the hill station is best for a day visit. This fast upcoming tourist place is also a good an option for trekking and climbing as the valley is located 292 feet above the sea level. Araku valley with pleasant climate all throughout the year one can also visit during the winter and the valley are also famous for various types of plantation and coffee plantation is famous. The coffee seeds from the plantation is either exported or is used for both domestic and export purpose. Transportation The valley is connected through both rail and road to the city of Vishakapatnam. There are two railway stations at Araku and Araku Valley on the KothavalasaKirandul railway line of Visakhapatnam division of the East Coast Railway, on the Indian Railways network. Shimiliguda railway station is located at an altitude of 996 meters above mean sea level.
Though the main purpose for travellers to visit Araku Valley is to enjoy the scenic beauty and it is a weekend gateway from the hustle and bustle of the city; yet there are few places to visit. They are the famous Borra Caves which is located at the distance of 4kms away. It is one of the largest caves in the country which is at the height of 705 m. It was first discovered by William King George in 1807. Then there are Ananthagiri Hills, Bheemunipatnam Beach, Katiki Falls, Padmapuram Gardens and Tyda Park; and apart from that there is Aruku Tribal Meseum. 64

SREE VETURI SUNDARARAMA MURTHY January 1936 - May 2010 Veturi sundarama murthy gaaru, legend in telugu film industry established a niche with his lyrics and wordings. Without his wordings, the song awaits the soul. His contribution to telugu film industry is uncountable. He joined Andhra Prabha as a journalist in 1952, after his education. He learned the basics of editing a news article from his senior at Andhra Prabha, Narla Venkateswara Rao, whom he considers his first teacher. In 1959, he joined a weekly called Andhra Patrika, where Bapu and Mullapudi Venkata Ramana were his colleagues. He was the in-charge of the Cinema section at Andhra Patrika. He also worked for the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee’s official daily newspaper, called Andhra Janata, as an editor. His writing style caught the attention of the film industry due to his prowess in using traditional poetic rules related to alliteration and rhyme for describing current affairs. Veturi had a unique style, which only a few have been able to emulate. His style was romantic, imbued with deep emotions.

Legend of Tollywood Sri.N.T. Rama Rao, has invited him to join the film industry as a lyricist. In 1974, he wrote his first song, “Bharatanaari Charitamu”, in the form of Harikatha, for O Seeta Katha under the direction of the legendary director, K Viswanath. This way he started his career in film industry as a lyricist and writer.
a swarabrahma who can compose any sort of lyric tuned it in 5 minutes! Though the words could have been simpler, I had to use that way while abiding to the rules of writing a harikatha. Hats off to the director for accepting such a lyric from a debutant Kadiri Venkata Reddy writer, no one else wouldn’t probably take that!
There was a speech by Sri Veturi gaaru at Student Center, Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, Louisiana, USA on September 08, 2000, addressing a small gathering of around 50-60 people, mostly students at the University and the families that live there. The 3-hour speech was quite interesting, and everyone paid attention to each and every word.
You have got many awards, sir. Which one of them was the most satisfactory? Any award is satisfactory, as long as it is given for a good song. But, sometimes one gets awards quite unexpectedly. I am not commenting or pointing a mistake. For example, the song raalipOyE puvvaa neeku raagaalendukE... got an award. But I feel that the song vENuvai vacchaanu bhuvanaaniki, gaalinai pOtaanu gaganaaniki... (from the same movie) is more deserving. It will be unjust for me to compare songs I have written. But, there are songs for which I expected awards but never received any, and also songs which won awards though I did not expect! All such judgements depend on those circumstances. Especially, there is this Sitara award given out by Ramoji Rao. I got three of the four awards given out, all those songs were very deserving.
Here is the full interview... How and when did you get interested in writing lyrics? Well, that’s my nature. Every person responds in his or her own way. One can be a sculptor, or an artist, or a singer, etc. I always had this zeal to write lyrics and poems, adding to the background of the family I hail from, and that helped me. Mere interest doesn’t help develop such passion, it also requires nature, something that should come by birth. O Seeta Katha (directed by K. Viswanath) is your first movie, right? How did you get to know Sri K. Viswanath? I wrote a yakshagaanam titled sirikaakolanu chinnadi..., for which the music was scored by Sri Pendyala Nageswara Rao and it was played by famous artistes. It was broadcast in the All India Radio. Many people complimented it, saying the theme was very good, and there was a neat poetic touch in the songs, etc. That tape was heard by K. Viswanath gaaru. He beckoned me and told, “I was very much impressed by the play, hereafter you should be my lyric-writer, I invite you to the field. I found a person I was searching for since long, and so you should write for me.”

You were once ruling this field of lyrics in Telugu Cinema ( Ekachatraadhipatyam, as they say), but now you’re writing too less number of songs? Even at that time, I wrote in the same proportion. The number of movies reduced, and the number of lyricists increased. The number of films made came down from 300 to 40 or 50 a year, it’s natural that I am writing rarely.
These days, you are writing more for dubbed films than for straight Telugu films. How do like this change? Are there any differences between the two, as far as lyrics are concerned? Actually, I am writing more for straight Telugu movies, even now. But, the dubbing movies I have worked for are mostly turning out to be popular and commercial You penned a harikatha as your first song. It’s a very hits. When writing for dubbing films, there exists an rare chance, and also a feat. How did you feel when original, and the original lip movement should also you were asked to write such a song. match the words we write, you know that; this causes When starting out to write a film song, I obviously a lot of narrowness in writing. Leela, and the great composer Sri K.V. Mahadevan made me popular in writing for dubbing films. But the 68

one I like very much is the movie Devaraagam. Even ANR gaaru told he couldn’t believe those songs were dubbed, they are so much like straight songs, the tune, the situation, the lyric, and the lip movement too merged into the scenes so neatly. And that didn’t bring you very good name because it was not a commercial hit? Yes. By the time you came into the field, usually songs were first written and then tuned. Till when did you write for a tune first made? Tuning first and then composing lyric is not today’s practice, it has been so from the days stage dramas flourished. Marathi play Bala Gandharva had many tunes which were taken directly in Telugu, they were all very popular hits on the stage. For example, the tune for the song meerajaala galadaa naa yaanati.. from Sreekrishna Thulabharam is a great hit, it’s also a tune from Bala Gandharva. Same is the case with the play Sakkubai. These tunes also came into the Telugu Cinema. Hindi music directors, like Naushad, had been giving tunes since long. The only music director in Telugu, who never gave any tune without a lyric is swarabrahma K.V. Mahadevan. He always used to say “I should get a tune inspired by your lyric, otherwise where should I get a tune from!? I don’t believe in that process. You first write, let your director say okay, and if it’s okay for you, then I’ll give a tune.” i.e. he is like our ancient vaaggeyakaarulu. Ramesh Naidu is another music director like that. He listens to the song fully, and decides what tune he can give. The way he tunes the song is also quite interesting, with all those emotions that the situation and the lyric demand. You know all those songs he composed very nicely. You’re probably in your sixties now, but how are you able to write songs that are liked by teenagers. This aravai lO iravai seems to be something like parakaaya pravesam!! It’s not parakaaya pravesam!! Now, if a train crosses Tenali and reaches Vijayawada station, the Tenali station is not forgotten, right? Similarly, I have crossed those twenties, and am in my sixties now. So, I know what people of those ages like, because I know what I liked at that age. That’s all!! You are a well versed poet in both Sanskrit and Telugu. You wrote soft and touching ( udaattamaina) lyrics for movies like Sankarabharanam, Sagara Sangamam, Saptapadi, Geethanjali, Annamayya. How do you feel when you write ordinary lyrics that should attract the
masses? ( saadaa-seedaa, masaalaa paatalu)? Everything is a part of the literature ( vaangmayam). Some will be convinced when I use complicated Sanskrit words ( sanskrita samaasa bhooyishta padaalu), and some will be happy if I write common Telugu words we usually hear ( jaanu telugu, vaaDuka bhaasha). we should satisfy all these categories of people. Cinema is a medium for everyone - people here don’t always make classical movies - it’s commercial, though it’s an art. So, we should be capable of writing all sorts of songs. Only when we satisfy all sorts of audience will we be fitting into the missionary of cinema.

Despite signing up for three Tamil films in quick succession, Samantha’s first release was Indira Productions’ Gautham Menon directed romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave. The film, a simultaneous remake of the Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, created much anticipation prior to release, primarily due to the first-time-collaboration between Menon and composer A. R. Rahman. The actress was signed up for the project in mid August 2009 and completed schedules across India and the United States for the film which released in February 2010. The film portrays Samantha as the lead character of Jessie, which was also the working title of the film; a Malayali Christian girl living in Hyderabad, whom the male protagonist, played by Naga Chaitanya falls in love with. Upon release, Samantha received very positive reviews for her portrayal, with the film also garnering much critical acclaim. Critics at Sify claimed that Samantha was the “scene-stealer” and her beauty “is alluring” adding that “she was the girl to watch out for”. Jeevi, from the Idlebrain reviews site, cited that “Samantha’s debut is one of the best heroine debuts in Telugu cinema” and that her “minute expressions she gave spoke volumes about her”, whilst labelling the film as a “classic”. Samantha, alongside her co-star, Naga Chaitanya, also appeared in a guest appearance in the Tamil version of the film. Both films emerged as grand successes whilst becoming trendsetters in Tamil and Telugu respectively, propelling Samantha to sign bigger projects. She followed up her collaborations with Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman by appearing in the music video for the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 promotional song, Semmozhiyaana Tamizh Mozhiyaam, which Menon directed and Rahman composed.
Samantha went onto feature in Vamsi Paidipally’s Brindaavanam in which she had a supporting role alongside NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. Her role of Indu was well received despite being shorter in screen time than her previous roles and the film became her second successful Telugu film. She is currently filming for Dookudu with Mahesh Babu and S. S. Rajamouli’s live action project Eega.

What is your Real Name ? My Real Name is Naga Shaurya but call me Shaurya. How did you got this opportunity in ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ ? From past 5 years I was trying to get into acting. I stepped into many cinema offices and has given many auditions but in vain. Finally I decide to skip acting and do business. At that time, I came across casting call of Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, I decided to give my last try, soon I got a call. After so many auditions and photo shoots I am in.
super. Even in US the response is good. Best compliment ? As I am doing this project I got another offer from Rajamouli’s Executive Producer. I feel it as best compliment for me. I cant pick one, if I want to do good love story I pick Karunakaran or Goutham Menon, if I want to do action movie I prefer VV Vinayak and Boyapati, If any historic movie I prefer SS Rajamouli. A MONTH OF FASTING, FEASTING AND SHOPPING
India’s 140 million Muslims, who constitute the world’s third-largest Muslim population, observe Ramadan with devotion and fervour The holy month Ramadan, which began in India Monday, is a month of fasting, compassion and charity as Muslims try to move closer to Allah through sacrifice, surrender and empathy towards have-nots.
The president, the vice president, the prime minister and other ministers at the centre, as also governors and chief ministers in states and leaders of various political groups, host ‘iftar’ parties every year.
The month also witnesses huge economic activity. Parts of cities like Delhi or Hyderabad or Kolkata or Mumbai, with a large Muslim population, come alive, especially in the evenings. The markets teem with people buying dates, fruits and the fried items for ‘iftar’ or breaking of the fast. The occasion brings together the devout in mosques and at community ‘iftars’ as the holy month provides unique opportunity to foster unity and brotherhood.
Islamic scholars say Ramadan is a spring of good deeds and Muslims thank the Almighty for revealing the holy Quran, which is a complete guidance not just for Muslims but the entire humanity.
One of the significant features of Ramadan is that it creates empathy towards have-nots and encourages charity. The person who fasts develops empathy towards the hungry. For adult Muslims who can’t fast because of ill-health, it is obligatory to feed a poor person every day. Dozens of organizations distribute free rations, clothes and even money among poor families so that they also join the month-long festivities. During the month, Muslims who possess wealth in excess of minimum exemption limit, pay ‘zakat’ or 2.5 percent annual tax to the poor and the needy. All the Muslims, irrespective of their wealth and age, have to pay ‘fitra’ (2.5 kg wheat or equivalent amount) before Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. Shopping continues till late in the night with the people tasting ‘haleem’, a special delicacy of Ramadan prepared by hundreds of hotels and roadside eateries. The worshippers throng the mosques for prayers till around midnight. The activity resumes in the wee hours of the day with people waking up for ‘sahr’ or pre-dawn meals followed by the morning prayers. Communal harmony will be in full display at ‘Iftar’ parties hosted by political and non-political organizations and individuals.

‘Roza’ or fast in Urdu came from Arabic word ‘saum’ meaning to abstain. During the fast, observed every day from dawn to sunset, Muslims abstain from consuming any food or water or engaging in sexual relations. One of the five tenets of Islam, ‘roza’ is obligatory for all adult Muslims, except those who are ill and travelling. The devout seek Allah’s forgiveness and mercy by daily offering ‘namaz’ five times and also additional ‘namaz’ during night like ‘Taraweeh’ and ‘Tahajjud’ and reading of the holy Quran. “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous,” says the holy Quran (chapter 2, verse 183). “Roza is not an ordinary worship. Its significance can be gauged from the fact that Prophet Mohammed used to pray to the Almighty to give another opportunity to observe Ramadan,” said Moulana Mohammed Hussamuddin Sani Jafar Pasha. The head of Hyderabad-based Jamia Islamia Darululoom said while other forms of worship can be seen by people, ‘roza’ is purely between the believer and the Creator. “A person may tell the world that he is fasting but may eat or drink in private. He, however, refrains from doing so because he knows Allah is watching him. The month trains him to develop self-control and patience and abstain from deeds prohibited by Allah,” he said.

GANAPATHI PAPPA MORIYA Lord Ganapathi, also described as Ganesha, is a very popular and revered Hindu deity and perphaps the most worshipped God in India. People mostly worship him seeking success in endeavors(siddhi) and intelligence. (buddhi). He also symbolizes wealth, wisdom, and happiness. He is worshipped before any venture or journey is embarked upon. Lord Ganapathi, having a curled trunk, one tusk partly broken, large ears, a massive body, four arms, and the radiance of hundreds of suns, elimintates all obstacles that impede success. Lord Ganapathi is the elder son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the universe’s divine couple. He is the chief (Isa) of Lord Shiva’s army and attendants, hence the name Ganesha. In the name Ganapathi, Ga denotes “knowledge,” na means “salvation,” and pati means “lord.” He is known for removing all of the obstacles(vignas) in the path of progress and wellbeing of his devotees, therefore he is known as Vigneshwara. Due to this special power of Lord Vigneshwara, devotees lovingly shower him with prayers, sweets, and poojas at the commencement of every task and enterprise, thus becoming capable of completing the task without hardship or complexity.

While adoring thee idol of Ganesha, a devotee observes that his head is that of an elephant, and the body of a human being. In his upper right hand he carries an axe(Ankusa); in his upper left hand he grasps a noose(Pasha). He is always smiling (Prasanna Vadhana). He may also be shown conveying blessings, dancing, or holding a lotus and mace. Seated below him, there dwells a mouse(Mooshika), which is his vahana, or vehicle. He ties a serpent around his stomach. His round figure signifies prosperity. An ancient tale explains why Lord Ganesha is worshipped before any other deity prior to any other important event. One day Lord Shiva asked his sons Ganesha and Karthikeya to circle the world and return. Karthikeya hurried away on his peacock vahana. Instead, Ganesha walked around Shiva and Parvati three times. Ganesha explained that, to him, his parents constituted the world. Delighted and satisfied, Shiva granted him a blessing, affirming that no matter what the occasion or ceremony may be, Lord Ganesha should be worshipped before all other Gods. Another ancient story tells that Ganesha wrote the Mahabharata according to Veda Vyasa’s dictation. When the sage asked Ganesha to write down the epic poem, the learned God agreed on condition that his pen should not stop moving until the story was completed. Ganesh Chaturthi, the most sacred festival of Lord Ganesha, occurs in August or September. It is an important event in India and celebrated with fervor, particularly in the state of Maharashtra.
