As Shakespeare would say, “What’s in a name?” More importantly, she has her own purse with keys, money, and credit cards. She’s going places and we’re delighted to be along for the ride!

Who says classrooms need four walls?

Taking the show on the road is what we do best. Always thinking outside the books, our overnight trips begin in fourth grade and continue through the final Senior Trip. Whether traipsing to whitewater rapids of North Carolina, exploring Washington, or crisscrossing the globe, we find the best lessons are learned by doing. It’s not the destination but the journey.

Four years ago, Rucker recognized the value of a Hammond education and set his sights on fully funding college through academic achievement. This varsity football captain is fourth and goal. Hoping to become a Wofford Terrier, he is running every play to ensure that happens. He is a member of Cum Laude Society, Honor Council, Leadership Council, a baseball standout, and embraces the full Hammond experience. This Skyhawk is working like a dog.

Known as the child whisperer among middle school faculty, Shalita is a native of Bermuda and mother to two Hammond students and a Hammond alum. She has brought a combination of talent, style, and class to her fifth grade writer’s workshop. A military wife who holds down the fort at home and in the classroom, she never raises her voice. Our Bermuda triangle is a calm in the storm of adolescence.
