Proud Supporter of the
Welcome to another great season of athletic competition at Hammond! Whether you have been a Skyhawk supporter for many years, or are visiting our campus for the first time, I hope you find your experience enjoyable. In keeping with our highly successful tradition, the 2018-2019 school year promises to be another impressive year in the classrooms, the arts studios, on the playing fields, and in service to others. I extend appreciation to our students, coaches, parents, volunteers, and maintenance staff, whose hard work and dedication help ensure the quality of experience we have all come to enjoy.
Hammond School Skyhawks
While Hammond has a 53-year tradition of being at the forefront of academic excellence, our school experience is further defined by many opportunities for students to develop in mind, body, and spirit. Competition helps foster a sense of shared loyalty by all constituents in a school community: students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends. The potential lessons learned outside the classroom in athletics complement our academic program and are valuable components in developing the whole child. We are dedicated to preparing our students for college and life beyond. Given this, as well as our strengths in the arts, and our desire to develop community servants, I am always impressed that roughly 95% of our student body manages to balance their time and represent our school in athletic competition. Thank you for being here to support our student-athletes. Your presence and positive sportsmanship help contribute to the spirit that defines Hammond. I am honored to be a member of the Hammond community, and wish every Skyhawk team the best of luck this year. Chris Angel Headmaster

The Muschamp Family
Proudly Supports The Skyhawks and #6 On the Field and in The Stands!
This year marks the 53rd season of athletics at Hammond. For a relatively young school, we have amassed an impressive record of state championship wins and reached a level of athletic participation not always seen in other programs. Nearly 95% of our students, from grades 6th - 12th, play one or more sports in a given school year. With an overall record of 143 state championship wins, we pride ourselves on excellence in all facets of the Hammond experience. As you enter our campus for the fall season, you will notice the addition of a new Innovation Center, utilized by Skyhawks of every age and grade, and current renovations to our gymnasium. We are grateful to the many individuals through whose generosity these enhancements were made possible. Here at Hammond, we strive to develop the intellectual, physical, social, and moral strength of each student, and to provide a multitude of opportunities in which this can happen. Realizing that academics is the backbone of our program, we believe athletics plays a vital role in helping students become champions not only on the field, but in the classrooms ... and in life. We are pleased to have you join us. Thank you for supporting our student-athletes. Go Skyhawks! Jeff Barnes Athletic Director
Dear Skyhawk Supporters, Hammond offers so much to so many, and one of the greatest is opportunity. Opportunity for an excellent education. Opportunity to develop into the young men and women we as parents know they should. Opportunity to create relationships that transcend and survive the Hammond experience. As a back drop to all of these, is the opportunity to participate in athletics. There is no substitute for the life lessons these student-athletes learn on the playing field. At Hammond, the word “team” is not only defined by our exceptional athletes, but the team of families, friends, faculty, staff, alumni, and our expanded community that reaches beyond the playing field to lend support and encouragement As Hammond celebrates 53 years of excellence, the legacy of Hammond Athletics survives for generations. As a Hammond student and varsity athlete, I experienced firsthand the contributions of the Skyhawk Club to the Hammond athletic experience, both on and off the field. While new uniforms and appropriate coaching were awesome, none can forget the free iced tea or big cookie card from Hardee’s. Now, we have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the Skyhawk Club members that came before us and enhance the lives of our children and many of their Hammond grandchildren. It’s time to gear up for another outstanding season of Hammond athletics! Join us at an athletic event in support of the Skyhawks! See you in the stands!
