MENTORSHIP OVERVIEW WHAT IS A MENTOR? RunUp Labs mentors help the entrepreneurs participating in the program to refine their business plan and make meaningful connections. They give honest feedback. They encourage their mentees to set lofty goals and to work hard to achieve them. HOW MANY ENTREPRENEURS WILL I MENTOR? Most mentors will be paired with the founders of a single company whose mission is well aligned with their expertise. All mentors will give at least one talk to the entire class in a group setting. WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS A MENTOR? The only requirements are your time and interest. We ask that you spend at least one day in Bloomington with the participants during the program, and that you attend the demo day at the end of the program. If you are paired with a specific company, you’ll be expected to keep an open line of communication with them. AM I EXPECTED TO MAKE AN INVESTMENT? Only if you want to. Through your close contact with the startups in the program, it is likely that you will encounter investment opportunities. We are recruiting companies that we believe to be worthy of investment (we’ll be investing in all of them!), but there is no obligation to invest or guarantee that you’ll be able to invest. WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF IT? Early exposure to the next wave of travel innovation, a chance to help shape some great new companies, and the undying gratitude of everyone involved. WHO ARE SOME OF THE OTHER MENTORS? We expect more than 20 mentors in all. Our founding mentors include: Mat Orrego
