Why? What does it feel like to have depression? (GQ) How?

How will I guide my classmates to experience these feelings? The Mozart music is to really put them in a relaxing stage because depression can take a toll on your body that might make the body feel weak. I chose to make them do a very simple task (drawing stick figures) yet with a twist (Not being able to draw the same one). A very common symptom is dozing off and going off to what is called “Lala land and to portray that I will be asking my classmates to look at that sticker and stare every time they give up on the task. This task is almost impossible to do, and it is supposed to make them lose motivation which is also a symptom. We had done an experiment for this class where we measured people’s brain waves while having them do different activities. There was a student that was listening to mozart music and I realized that she was mostly had alpha waves which is when you are relaxed and in your resting state. People with depression are in that resting state, so that perfectly simulated the brain waves.

What?

First I will ask them to sit in a very comfortable spot where they could really relax. Second I played mozart music for them while they closed their eyes and rested for a minute. Third I had handed out the graph paper with 20 squares and asked them to draw 20 stick figures, without drawing the same one. -They will use a crayon -They will draw with their eyes squinted Fourth if they feel like giving up they can close their eyes and rest once again.
