This manual is a key component in my mission. It will guide me along this journey and serve as a reminder of why I am completing the mission. My mission in life was to be content in all that I do. I didn’t have a very specific mission because I wasn’t sure of anything. I wasn’t sure of my passions, strengths, goals, etc. However, I was sure that I wanted to be content no matter what. Over the course of time, I have evolved and so has my mission. My overall mission still remains. However, I have a “sub-mission”. My “sub-mission” is to help children, medically, in other countries. I want to aid along the road less traveled, which is countries and villages in dire need of aid. I find joy in working with children and traveling abroad. Furthermore, I have always considered nursing as a “backup” career path. This “sub-mission” aligns with my interests and passions perfectly. As a result, I believe that it will be something that I am content
There is a lot that has to be done before I can accomplish my mission or even attempt to fulfill it. For one, I need to hit certain educational requirements that will open doors for me and allow me to help others. These requirements include completing my Nursing Clinicals as this will give me experience in the field. Experience will allow me to volunteer as a student. Another educational requirement that is needed is my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, which would require 4 years of school. A main part of my mission is working for Doctors Without Borders. In order to do so, I will need to have 2 years of professional experience. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment growth for nurses is expected to grow by 15% from 2016 to 2026. Therefore, the future is quite promising. Once I complete my two or so years of professional experience, I will then need to complete a training course through Doctors Without Borders after I’ve been offered a position. The first location I want to work in with Doctors Without Borders is Mexico. My family is from Mexico, so helping people there will mean a lot to me. My grandparents couldn’t afford to seek medical attention or basic healthcare when they lived in Mexico, and unfortunately there is still a large amount of people who also cannot afford medical attention/care.  There are several nurses in my family who I look up to, but I can’t quite relate to them because none of them have volunteers abroad for joined Doctors Without Borders. However, I have familiarized myself with Jane Boggini and her experiences as a nurse working with Doctors Without Borders. She has gone on numerous travels with Doctors Without Borders and has selflessly cared for children. She has a big family that would support her and all that she did and I know my family would do the same, so I can really relate to her. I found it amazing how she would care for children in other countries as if they were her own. She does not take credit for all the wonderful being done and she is very selfless and I hope to be the same way.
This is a map of potential sites I will be working in Mexico.

The plans I have set in my timeline are not set in stone. Therefore, I will not be too upset if I do not meet the dates and specific accomplishments I have set. I will accept it. However, there are certain things in my journey that I will not negotiate or accept for less than what I want. For starters, I must graduate college. I believe that it is essential that I have a degree in my back pocket to fall back on. I want to volunteer and commit myself to helping others, which does not necessarily require a degree, but I believe that a degree will give me peace of mind in case I cannot financially support myself through my volunteer and service work. Another thing I will not negotiate is not volunteering abroad for a long period of time in my lifetime. I value volunteer work and believe that it will feed my soul. Because volunteering abroad is so important to me, my backup plan includes it. My mission is to volunteer abroad with Doctors Without Borders and IVHQ as a nurse. If Nursing School does’t work out, I will volunteer with IVHQ with their Women Empowerment Programs.
