PiYO® is Chalene Johnson’s new workout combining Pilates and yoga intended to sculpt your body using low impact movements.

BEGINNER ASHTANGA

GENTLE HATHA

Ashtanga Yoga is a sequence of postures designed to bring incredible, strength, flexibility and endurance to the body and a sense of stillness to the mind. This class will teach the fundamentals of Ashtanga yoga, sun salutations, Ujjayi breath, energy locks and Vinyasas.

BEGINNER HATHA YOGA Get back to the basics or start your yoga journey with Beginner’s Hatha Yoga. Awaken your mind and body as you restore and gain flexibility so energy can flow freely. Each week we will be diving deep into the most basic physical postures, breathing practices, and relaxation techniques. We will build on what we learned from the weeks before so you will have a greater understanding of proper alignment and positioning, how to make any required modifications to suit your body, and the many benefits of yoga.

24

In our busy society relaxation is seldom practiced yet is a wellness skill needed to combat stress on the mind and body. Slow progressive movement using modified yoga asanas suited for a wide range of abilities, flexibilities, and mobilities will make this class an enjoyable way to regain or build your strength, range of motion and balance. Gentle Hatha Yoga has many benefits to offer to both mind and body. Treat yourself to this class, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. Props will be used as available in this class and participants are asked to bring a blanket. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

HATHA AT NOON

FUSED PILATES & YOGA Combining the best of pilates and yoga training. Get the toning benefits of pilates combined with the flexibility of yoga.

GENTLE YOGA Awaken your mind and body with this gentle class, excellent for beginners & individuals with health, balance or mobility issues. Restore and gain flexibility, strength & tone.

HAPPY FEET Are you enduring foot/lower leg muscle pain, bunions, plantar fasciitis or hammer toes? Learn how simple changes and exercise might be your solution.

The goal of practicing hatha yoga is to bring together opposites in your life and create balance. During hatha yoga, you use physical postures, or asanas, to align your body and allow energy to flow freely. You also learn breathing techniques, which also help regulate the flow of energy and enable you to master your mind and attain balance.

REGISTRATION FORTSASK.CA 780.992.6400 or 780.992.6280

(Modifications will be given for mobility issues.) See you in class for a “sweaty stretch.”

Bring a water bottle, pillow and blanket. NOTE: a fun prenatal partner yoga practice (with practical applications for labour and birth) will be planned for one of the classes.

YANG YIN YOGA HATHA YOGA

HATHA & VINYASA

You will learn the sequences of asanas and postures designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. Restore and gain flexibility, strengthen & tone. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation, bringing your attention to your breath, helping to still the mind and be more present.

Increase your strength, flexibility and stamina as you participate in our yoga program. No previous yoga experience is required and anyone, teens through seniors, may participate in this program. Get ready to get in shape, relax and enjoy the benefits of yoga.

NOON YIN YOGA Yin Yoga has come to be known as “the quiet yet profound yoga practice”. Bringing balance with the experience of centering inside, quieting the mind, letting the connective tissues gently release, and allowing greater flexibility. Yin Yoga is slow and steady, helping nourish the joints by remaining still in the poses. The poses apply moderate stress to connective tissues, the tendons, fascia, and ligaments with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. It is a slow paced style of yoga with gentle stretches held for a few minutes that will make the body stronger. Yin Yoga requires the muscles to relax around the connective tissues in order to feel a healing stretch.

The Yang practice is a sequence of active postures designed to bring strength, flexibility and endurance to the body while the Yin practice will cultivate a sense of stillness in the mind.

YOGA SAMPLER Sample a variety of yoga styles to give an idea of what suits you.

HATHA YOGILATES Awaken your mind and body with a blend of Hatha Yoga and Pilates. Restore and gain flexibility, strengthen and tone your core. You will love the results!
