Lap Swim Passes

Instructors: Parks & Rec Staff

Lap swimming is a great way to stay healthy and live an active lifestyle. Lap swimmers will have the option to pay for a monthly unlimited pass that is valid for the full month and all available lap swim dates and times or purchase a Monthly Light Pass that is good for 8 visits per month, or pay a daily drop-in fee to participate. Unused visits may not be transferred or refunded. Swimmers will no longer be required to pre-register for a lane, and lane availability will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Swimmers will be encouraged to circle swim when there are multiple swimmers to a lane.

The ultimate, low-impact aerobics exercise class designed for all ages. Our Water Aerobics class features cardio exercise for a full-body workout in a fun and enjoyable environment. Welcome to the City of American Canyon's Swim Lessons! As an authorized provider for the American Red Cross, it is our goal to provide the best aquatic training and programs to promote water safety throughout our community. We have partnered with the American Red Cross, which has developed and designed a Learnto-Swim program that we offer at Phillip West Aquatic Center.

Adult/Teen Swim Lessons

It’s never too late to learn how to swim! No matter your age, you can develop the skills needed to feel safe and comfortable in the water. Our adult swim lessons are designed to meet your specific needs, whether you’re looking to master the basics, perfect your stroke, build endurance, or learn essential water safety, we tailor each lesson to your goals. Don’t wait any longer—sign up today and take the plunge toward confidence in the water every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the Month.

Life Guard Training

Instructors: Parks & Rec Staff

This class provides the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, inquiries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Participants who complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.

Upon completion of the course and obtaining the lifeguard certification, you will be eligible to interview for a lifeguard position. If selected, you will qualify for a reimbursement of the course fee.

Junior Warriors Basketball

This fun, recreational basketball league will keep your kids active and engaged this Winter. Our Winter program provides participants of any skill level with instruction to help improve dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills. Our coaches also encourage teamwork and self-confidence. Participants can look forward to weekly practices, scrimmages, and games. Jerseys will be provided.

Super Soccer Stars

Get ready for goal-scoring fun with Super Soccer Stars! Every Sunday at Community Park II, we welcome all little champions aged 2 and up!

Activities are presented using imagery relatable to children to support learning about the body and ball awareness. This class introduces physical activities, rich language exposure, and movements such as running, hopping, and jumping. Classes include fun dribbling and shooting activities to teach positive social interaction and basic skills of soccer!

Unit 1 of this course explores examples of great graphic design and video storytelling.
