Cooking Class

Friday, December 1, 1:30pm, $21

Enjoy cooking? Interested in learning how to prepare new and tasty recipes? Look no further. Glo has traveled much of the world and would like to share her culinary experiences with you. She will purchase and bring all the ingredients to prepare a dish. Participants will have the choice to eat on-site or take some home to enjoy later. Class takes place in the MAYC commercial kitchen and is limited to 8 participants.

Miniature Polymer Clay Gnomes Class

Tuesday, November 28, 10:30am, free

Looking for a fun, fall art project? Join Brenda and Stacy as you form colored clay into gnomes. No experience necessary. Take your project home to bake according to instructions for a finished product. Registration limited to 10 people.

Woodcarving Holiday Ornament Fundraiser

Wednesdays, October 25, November 15, 29, 11am-1pm

Members of the North Metro Woodcarvers in addition to new and casual carvers will be displaying their woodcarving ornaments as a fundraiser for the MAYC. Stop by to see what great work they do and consider purchasing a carving, while supplies last. Makes great gifts for birthdays and for the holidays! Proceeds will go toward entertainment, activity supplies, and bingo prizes. Thank you carvers for your talent and generosity.

Movie of the Month: Sweetwater

Inspired by true events, witness the extraordinary journey of Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton (Everett Osborne), who made history as the first black player to sign an NBA contract. At a time when segregation divided sports, New York Knicks coach Joe Lapchick (Jeremy Piven) and team executive Ned Irish (Cary Elwes) see the future of basketball in Sweetwater’s dazzling and unorthodox displays of entertaining athleticism. Together, they challenge convention and break through barriers that would change the game forever. See this movie on our large screen TV with overhead sound system and enjoy popcorn at intermission.

Hear some of the incredible stories from the Civil War to the Vietnam War as we pay tribute to Veterans Day. This event is paid for by the Cliff Jacobson memorial funds.
