Upcoming Outings and Tours Bentleyville Holiday Lights Duluth, Minnesota Tuesday, November 28, 12:15-9:15pm $68 to $88/call for details Bentleyville invites guests to stroll under the glow of over five million lights in a 20-acre park situated on the shores of Lake Superior, while enjoying complimentary hot cocoa, cookies, popcorn, and roasted marshmallows! Start the day with a visit to Hoops Brewing for a BBQ buffet dinner served by OMC Smokehouse which includes pork and brisket with sides. For $20, add a tour with tasting of 3-5oz flight of the beer that’s on tap in the brewery and one 10oz beer of your choice from the entire tap list. Program Spotlights Cooking Class Friday, December 1, 1:30pm, $21 Enjoy cooking? Interested in learning how to prepare new and tasty recipes? Look no further. Glo has traveled much of the world and would like to share her culinary experiences with you. She will purchase and bring all the ingredients to prepare a dish. Participants will have the choice to eat on-site or take some home to enjoy later. Class takes place in the MAYC commercial kitchen and is limited to 8 participants.

Miniature Polymer Clay Gnomes Class Tuesday, November 28, 10:30am, free Looking for a fun, fall art project? Join Brenda and Stacy as you form colored clay into gnomes. No experience necessary. Take your project home to bake according to instructions for a finished product. Registration limited to 10 people. Registration for programs at the MAYC is required unless otherwise noted. Winter Dance Party Paramount Theater, St. Cloud Thursday, January 25 10:40am-4:45pm, $99 John Mueller’s “Winter Dance Party” is the official live and authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie, Valens, and the Big Bopper’s final tour and the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens, and Richardson estates. Enjoy two hours of high voltage entertainment featuring 50’s hit songs. Lunch at Green Mill prior to the 1:30PM show, make selection at time of registration: walleye sandwich, cobb salad with chicken, four cheese bacon burger, fettuccine alfredo, or shrimp pasta with tomato cream sauce. Volunteer Bus Driver Needed Looking to give back to the community? Have a good driving record and able to use navigation to find your way around the City of Blaine? A few more drivers are needed either as substitute drivers, or to take a day of the week, to drive participants to and from the MAYC during business hours, M-F, between the hours of 9AM-4PM. The main requirements are a basic background check and a D.O.T. Health Card Physical, which is a reimbursable expense. A free lunch is provided to all drivers. Chess Instructor Are you a skilled chess player? Consider offering beginning chess instructions at the MAYC. A few people have expressed an interest in learning this great board game that challenges the mind. If you are interested in teaching others how to play chess, call the MAYC at 763-786-9375.

Woodcarving Holiday Ornament Fundraiser Wednesdays, October 25, November 15, 29, 11am-1pm Members of the North Metro Woodcarvers in addition to new and casual carvers will be displaying their woodcarving ornaments as a fundraiser for the MAYC. Stop by to see what great work they do and consider purchasing a carving, while supplies last. Makes great gifts for birthdays and for the holidays! Proceeds will go toward entertainment, activity supplies, and bingo prizes. Thank you carvers for your talent and generosity.
