Student life

City of Bristol College was a great experience for me. Unlike university, the class size remained small enough which allowed for a really personal and engaging learning experience.

Becoming a student is more than just deciding what you want to learn and what you want to do in the future. It is about how you want to learn, who you want to learn with and where. At City of Bristol College, we support you every step of the way and give you the attention you need to succeed on your chosen course.

We offer a range of additional support services to help make life a little bit easier and allow you to concentrate fully on your studies. They include: career advice, counselling, help finding part-time jobs, study support and welfare advice.

We understand starting university and college can be daunting, and moving away from your family or gaining more independence can be unnerving, but with our support we will ensure you get the most out of studying with us.

Find your voice

Our students come first and to be able to improve our service, we ask students to give feedback on all of their course modules as well as providing individual online feedback about their course and the college facilities through the National Student Survey. You can nominate and elect student representatives who will go to course review meetings and student forums.

Student accommodation

We can offer you advice on student accommodation and put you in contact with reliable student landlords and halls of residence across Bristol near a centre suitable for you. Speak to our Student Services for more information on accommodation.

Become a student ambassador

If you enjoy working with people and want to gain communication, public speaking and team working skills then why not join the HE student ambassador team? Be the one which helps, offers advice and supports our current and future students at college events and other events across the city. You will earn some rewards, gain something positive for your CV and have fun along the way.

Graduation

The main event in the HE calendar is the HE graduation. If you complete your course you will be invited to celebrate your success at our Higher Education Awards Ceremony which is held in the grand surroundings of Bristol Cathedral. Dress up in your finest attire and put on your gown and graduation cap for this memorable occasion!
