Building inspectors may be contacted between the hours of 7-8:30 am Monday through Friday by calling 404.270.7025. Inspections are usually scheduled the day after the request has been received. Requests received before 3:00 pm, a next day inspection will be granted. Requests received after 3:00 pm an inspection will be granted the following day. Permit cards must be posted at the site and approved plans must be available for the inspector to reference prior to inspection. Provisions for acceptance of owner/contractor “qualified” (as defined by State of Georgia) inspector written report, must have prior approval of the Building Official or as provided by State law. Provisions for safety at the job site are required prior to inspection, to include, but not limited to guardrails at vertical openings, GFCI protection for temporary electrical service as required, approved installation of scaffolding structures and devices, and temporary supports. Provisions for compliance with Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission guidelines for erosion and sedimentation control are required at all areas of land disturbance activities. Construction permits are inspected first for rough inspection in all technical trades (Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC) prior to framing (building) rough inspection. Final approval of building permit also follows technical trade final approvals. Any imposed re-inspection fee must be received prior to re-inspection.
