Where do I register vacant/foreclosed real property?
Is intended for habitation, has not been lawfully inhabited for at least sixty (60) days and has no evidence of utility usage with the past sixty (60) days; or
Property owners may register a vacant/foreclosed real property in person or by mail. The Department of Planning & Zoning is open Monday through Friday 8:00am until 5:00pm. All completed applications with the associated fee shall be submitted by 3:30pm.

How do I remove a property from the registry? Any owner or agent of such owner of residential and/or non-residential real property, who has registered such property may file a request for removal of the property from the registry by providing proof that such real property no longer constitutes vacant or foreclosed real property. The grant or deny of all such requests within thirty (30) calendar days of its filing and if no such determination is rendered within the thirty (30) day period, then the application for removal shall be deemed granted.

When did the East Point City Council adopt the vacant property registration ordinance?
1. Owner’s name, street address, phone number, facsimile number and e-mail address;
Council adopted an amendment to Division II, Part 7, Chapter 8 of the East Point Code of Ordinances October 20, 2014.
2. Agent’s name, street address, mailing address, phone number, facsimile number and e-mail address; 3. Real property’s street address and tax parcel number; 4. Transfer date of the instrument conveying the property to the owner; 5. As it becomes available, recording information, including deed book and page numbers of the instrument conveying the real property to the owner; and

How long does a property have to be foreclosed upon before I have to register?
If at the expiration of any six (6) month registration, a non-residential building remains vacant the owner shall re-register such nonresidential building and pay a fifty ($50.00) dollar re-registration fee.
The owner must register at ninety-first (91) day after the transfer of the real property.
Failure to register or update information shall result in a penalty not to exceed one thousand ($1,000.00) dollars.
