FY 2024 AUDIT
Patillo, Brown & Hill, LLP completed the Fiscal Year 2024 annual audit of the City of Forney’s finances. Chris Pruitt, an audit partner with the firm, presented the key findings to the City Council. The audit results meet the criteria for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and reflect a clean report with positive budget variances and healthy fund balances. The City Council approved a site plan for Blast Car Wash, located west of S. FM 548 and east of Forney Community Park. The 1.83-acre property is within the Fox Hollow Planned Development zoning district, with a base zoning of Commercial. It is bordered by Jack’s Quick Stop to the south and medical/dental professional buildings to the north. A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the property was previously approved by City Council on September 20, 2022.

COMMUNITY PARK MASTER TRAIL PLAN
The City Council has approved a professional services agreement with Pierce-Murray Land Solutions, LLC for topographic survey services as part of the Community Park Trail Extension Project. This project, aligned with the Community Park Master Trail Plan, will extend the Community Park Trail to the Boxwood Trail cul-de-sac in Chestnut Meadows. The agreement includes engineering topographic surveying services with a cost not to exceed $20,700.
RETAIL CENTER SITE PLAN
The City Council approved a site plan for CHC Retail Center Phase II, located northeast of the South FM 548 and FM 741 intersection. Submitted by Claymoore Engineering on behalf of the property owner, the plan establishes the site design for a multi-tenant retail center. The 1.57-acre property is currently vacant and falls within the Fox Hollow Planned Development, with a General Retail base zoning. Approved in 2004, the zoning allows for retail stores, professional offices, and restaurants .
