2024 RACIAL PROFILING REPORT
Dr. Alex del Carmen, a recognized authority on race and crime with a particular focus on racial profiling in law enforcement, presented the Forney Police Department’s annual Racial Profiling Report, which includes all motor vehicle-related contact data for 2024 in compliance with Texas law. The report also meets the requirements of the Sandra Bland Act, which mandates the collection of additional data for a more in-depth analysis. The report confirms that the Forney Police Department fully complies with all state racial profiling laws and highlights proactive measures in place to ensure transparency and accountability. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT
The City Council discussed and considered filling an unexpired term on the Planning and Zoning Commission. They voted to appoint Lawrence McCall to serve until June 30, 2025. The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a vital role in reviewing development proposals, zoning changes, and land-use policies to guide the city's growth. Congratulations on your appointment!

TOWNEPLACE SUITES FORNEY

The Forney City Council has approved the acceptance of public improvements for the Marriott TownePlace Suites project. The public infrastructure, including fire protection water improvements and sanitary sewer enhancements, has been completed in accordance with the City of Forney's design standards. This approval marks one of the final steps before the project can receive a Certificate of Occupancy and officially open.
FORNEY REC SPORTS
During his report, Forney City Manager Charles Daniels highlighted that Forney Parks and Recreation has over 2,300 children enrolled in youth sports, including soccer, baseball, softball, and T-ball. A big thank you to our Parks staff for their dedication and hard work in making these programs successful!
