The City of Golden and Golden Chamber of Commerce invite the community to the 2025 State of the City address 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Golden Community Center (1470 10th St, Golden, CO).
Mayor Laura Weinberg, City Manager Scott Vargo, and Chamber of Commerce President Nola Krajewski will share highlights from 2024 and discuss goals for 2025 from both a City and business perspective.
This free event is open to all. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

Golden’s Annual Tree Sale
Help beautify Golden! The City’s annual tree sale runs March 3–April 15. Trees are $85 each with a limit of two per household. Available to residents only while supplies last. Pickup is April 26 at Golden Cemetery. Scan the QR code to purchase!

Heart of Golden Next Phase Community Meeting, 5:30–7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Arbor Day with a visit to the Golden Cemetery. Ask our certified arborists about tree care, enjoy a live planting demonstration, explore the tree nursery, and take home a free seedling (while supplies last). 25
The Heart of Golden project aims to make the Clear Creek Corridor more useable and desirable for residents while providing needed space for Police and City services. This meeting, held at the Golden Community Center from 5:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m., will focus on the East Street Corridor and Lions Park.
Arbor Day with the City of Golden, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
The Ore Cart free public shuttle now operates on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and features bike racks on all vehicles for improved last-mile connectivity. Since launching in June 2023, this essential community service has provided over 100,000 rides. The Ore Cart is free and open to everyone—check the City website for hours, route, stops, and an upcoming video on bike rack use.
The City is excited to share the conclusion of our recent statistical survey, which will help shape the Parks and Recreation and Open Space Phase Two master plans. A summary of the survey’s results and more information is available on GuidingGolden.com. Golden’s Summer Camp for kids ages 5–12 runs June 2–August 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with exciting activities, outdoor exploration, and creative projects. Preschool Summer Camp for 2.5 to 4-year-olds runs the same dates, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering a supportive environment for play and growth. Exciting news—Heritage Dells Park playground is getting a major upgrade! Construction begins soon, with the new playground opening by late spring. The revamped space will feature a multi-story structure, slides, swings, climbing elements, sensory features, shade, and a sand play zone, offering improved recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities. Ulysses Park redevelopment is underway with phased re-openings. The skate park will reopen by February 2025, followed by the north parking lot, ball fields, and dog park in spring 2025. The South parking lot and playground are expected by year-end, with new athletic fields in 2026. Visit GuidingGolden.com for updates.
City Comprehensive Plan: Phase 1 of the Comprehensive Plan update, which included public listening sessions, concluded in January. Feedback is available at GuidingGolden. com/comprehensiveplan. Phase 2 will involve Planning Commission discussions and a draft plan for public review. Stay tuned for updates!
Arapahoe Parking Lot Changes: The South half of the Arapahoe Lot (12th to 13th Street) is returning to private management. It will remain open for public parking, but new signage and regulations apply. There are no changes to the City-owned North half of the lot. Visit ParkGoldenCO.com.
Clayworks to Offer Paid Public Parking: Clayworks will begin public paid parking on their property in early February. This includes the 10th and Ford St. lot, located behind the old Mountaineering Center and the Gold Office building (nights and weekends only). Parking will be privately managed, so rules and rates are expected to differ from the City’s parking management system. Inquiries related to this lot should be directed to Clayworks, as the City and our parking vendor will not be able to answer questions or address violations there.
Short Term Rental Compliance Program: The City of Golden has launched a Short-Term Rental (STR) compliance monitoring program to ensure all STRs and Tourist Homes are properly licensed and meet Temporary Lodging Regulations.
