Virtual Camp Ann (Ages 10+)

Camp Ann is back in virtual format for another summer of fun, crafts, games, activities and much more! Supplies will be delivered to camper's homes each week in preparation for virtual camp, presented through Zoom. Monday-Friday, June 21 - 25 June 28 - July 2 July 12 - 16, July 19 - 23, July 26 - 30, August 2 - 6 9 a.m. - noon $25 per person/per week

Yoga (Ages 8+)

Whether you participate while sitting or standing, you are sure to reap the many benefits of yoga. Special Populations is offering a semi-virtual yoga class, in person or via Zoom, for people of all levels and abilities. Special Olympics Guilford/High Point athletes will practice for the Fall 2021 season with safety protocols in place. Super Social Supper Club (Ages 8+)

Learn the basics of restaurant etiquette through this fun and social program. Our outings include learning how to place a food order, paying a bill and calculating a tip. Piedmont Environmental Center's Aqua Camp

Piedmont Environmental Center’s Aqua Camp is all about water! Campers worked to determine which river basin they live in and tested pH and dissolved oxygen levels to find out how healthy our water is. On the second day, they examined what is living in our local water resource by collecting and identifying plants, invertebrates and fish.

Intro to Kayaking (ages 16+)

Kayaking has become very popular, yet many beginners are not well-versed in standard kayaking techniques or important safety procedures. This course teaches the basics of flat-water kayaking on High Point's beautiful Oak Hollow Lake! Saturday, August 7, 9 - 11 a.m. Oak Hollow Marina $30 per person without a kayak, $20 per person with a kayak, per class.

Stand-Up Paddleboard Glowing Night Paddle (ages 18+)

Enjoy a unique experience of stand-up paddleboarding after dark, as soft lighting on your board makes the water glow beneath your feet. We'll start out about an hour before sunset to get organized and comfortable on the boards, then explore beautiful Oak Hollow Lake as we watch the sun set. We'll paddle leisurely for about two hours, taking several breaks to chat and look to the skies for meteors during the expected meteor shower on August 13. Prior paddling experience is recommended. Fundamentals of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (ages 18+)

This longer course provides instruction in the basics of stand-up paddleboarding, plus additional skills and safety knowledge that will give you the confidence to enjoy SUP on larger waters. Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills during this session. Participants mst know how to swim. This is similar to the basics course but with more time on the water and more in-depth safety skills instruction. Basic Stand-Up Paddleboarding (ages 15+)

This introductory course provides one hour of learning the basics of paddleboarding with an experienced instructor, plus 30 minutes with the equipment to play and have fun on your own. Participants must be able to swim. Saturdays, August 21 and September 18, 12 - 1:30 p.m. Oak Hollow Marina $25 per person, per class

Women's Intro to Kayaking and Safety on the Water (ages 18+)

Join us for a women’s introductory course on kayaking and water safety! This two-hour class, taught by an ACA-certified female instructor, will cover basic water safety and kayaking techniques. Lessons include choosing safety gear, the dangers of cold water, proper paddling and boat handling. Instruction will be conducted both on land and on the water in an encouraging environment. Sunset Paddles at High Point City Lake Park (ages 16+)

Enjoy a guided sunset tour around beautiful High Point City Lake by kayak, with the light of the bright summer moon as a guide. We often enjoy wildlife sightings during this unique, relaxing experience! Friday, August 20, 7:30 - 10p.m. Friday, September 17, 6:30 - 9 p.m. $6 class fee, single kayak + $9, tandem kayak + $16

Sunset Paddles at Oak Hollow Lake (ages 16+)

Enjoy a guided tour at sunset by kayak around beautiful Oak Hollow Lake. Participants must be 16 years of age to operate Oak Hollow Marina's kayaks. Kayaks are available on a first-come, first-served basis and registration is required in advance.
