Eco Camp (Ages 12 - 15)

Campers will focus on investigations into the interrelationships between plants and animals and the ecosystem. Using new tools and technology, campers will examine symbiosis, predator/prey relationships, nutrient cycling, biodiversity and more. Activities include dissection of owl pellets, trail camera set-up, pitfall trapping, dendrochronology and insect collection by black light. Piedmont Environmental Center Thursday & Friday, July 7 - 8, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. $50 for PEC members, $60 for non-members PGA Junior Half-Day Camps (7 - 13)

Our action-packed, half-day camps include handson instruction led by certified PGA professionals. The signature PGA camp curriculum focuses on developing golf skills (full swing, short game, rules and etiquette) while keeping the experience fun and engaging with games and activities. Oak Hollow Golf Course Session 2: Monday - Friday, July 18 - 22, 9 a.m. - noon Session 3: Monday - Friday, Aug. 8 - 12 9 a.m. - noon $275 per week $15 non-refundable annual registration fee PGA Junior Full Day Camps (Ages 9 - 16)

These camps provide the opportunity for intermediate to advanced junior golfers to continue improving their skills and developing better course management expertise. Participants are organized into smaller groups based on ability level and age. After lunch, campers go to the course for supervised play that emphasizes course management, shot selection and rules. Oak Hollow Golf Course Session 2: Monday - Friday, July 18 - 22 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Session 3: Monday - Friday, Aug. 8 - 12 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. $450 per week $25 non-refundable annual registration fee Advanced Camp: Croatan National Forest and Bogue Banks (Ages 12 - 15)

Campers will explore natural and cultural history firsthand by visiting the Longleaf Pine Forest of Croatan National Forest, Bogue Banks, Emerald Isle, Swansboro and Morehead City. Fee includes guides, transportation, campsite, meals, entrance and activity fees. Participants and guardians must attend a pre-trip planning meeting on Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. Please call 336.883.8531 for more information. Back in action, campers will enjoy a summer of fun, crafts, games and much more. Snacks will be provided daily. Adult Zumba (Ages 18+)

Let's make a splash! AquaFit is a moderate-intensity water aerobics class where participants can receive the benefits of a land-based aerobics class without the impact. Classes combine stretching, cardio and strength-building exercises. Participants should wear a swimsuit and bring their own water bottle and towel. AHOY Exercise Class (Ages 50+)

Silver Hoopers (Ages 50+)

Silver Hoopers is an open gym opportunity for ages 50+ interested in a lunchtime basketball workout! Deep River Recreation Center Wednesday July 6 - Nov. 16, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Free Southside Senior Fitness (Ages 50+)

Our newly-renovated facility features an elliptical machine, treadmill, stationary bike, spin bikes, fitness rope, kettlebells, weights and Smith Bench press machine. Virtual Morning Exercise (Ages 50+)

This virtual program provides a brief, intense workout incorporating cardio and strength training. Please consult your doctor before registering. Walk with Ease (Ages 50+)

Whether you need relief from arthritis or just want to be active, this program will teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life!
