0<2 yrs. = 10 days (80 hrs.)

5<10 yrs. = 15 days (120 hrs.)

10< 15 yrs. = 18 days (144 hrs.)

5<20 yrs. = 20 days (160 hrs.)

20 years or more = 24 days (192 hrs.)

PART-TIME (BENEFITED):

0<2 yrs. = 5 days (40 hrs.)

2<5 yrs. = 6 days (48 hrs.)

5<10 yrs. = 7.5 days (60 hrs.)

10< 15 yrs. = 9 days (72 hrs.)

15<20 yrs. = 10 days (80 hrs.)

20 years or more = 12 days (96 hrs.)

Vacation in excess of the 300-hour accumulation will be transferred into the employee’s sick leave balance annually.

LEAVE BENEFITS

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

Up to 80 hours a year with 3 days allowed per bereavement event each calendar year. This time comes from the employee’s sick bank.

CAREGIVER LEAVE

Full-time employees – up to 240 hours per year

JURY DUTY LEAVE

Excused with pay

MILITARY TRAINING LEAVE

Employees may use personal vacation time during their absence at their discretion.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT LEAVE

Regular full-time employees will have four hours of Parental Involvement Leave (PIL) for use during the calendar year. You must be the parent or guardian of a school-aged child.

PARENTAL LEAVE

Employees who meet FMLA eligibility requirements are offered up to 240 hours of parental leave after the birth, adoption or placement of a child.

SHARED SICK LEAVE

Up to 20 days for catastrophic medical situations.

MEDICAL PLAN COVERAGE

The two medical and dental plans are administered by Cigna. In addition, the City provides a wellness incentive for employees who participate.

Two dental options are available, and both are administered by Cigna Dental. You may use any licensed dentist, however, when you use a Cigna Dental network provider, you receive additional savings. Routine dental exams and cleanings are covered two times a year.

The vision plan, administered by Community Eye Care (CEC), provides coverage for comprehensive exams and eyewear via a network of participating optometrists and ophthalmologists from which to choose care for the highest level of benefit.

ON-SITE EMPLOYEE CLINIC

The City partners with Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health to provide on-site clinic services for active employees on the City’s health plan. Our Employee Health Clinic is staffed with a PA, an RN and a behavioral health coach who can deliver quality medical care to you as an employee.

SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS

ACCIDENT AND CRITICAL ILLNESS

These voluntary plans are available to help supplement in the event of an accident or critical illness. The benefits are paid directly to you in a lump sum, giving you the flexibility to use the money however you like.

AFLAC ACCIDENT – pays a benefit for specific injuries and events resulting from a covered accident.

UNUM SPECIFIED DISEASE PLAN – pays a benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered disease or condition.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

Administered by MyGroup EAP, this program provides confidential short-term counseling services, resources and other problem-solving solutions to employees and their household members. In addition, financial, legal, childcare and elder care service assistance are available.

COHP WELLNESS PROGRAM

The City’s employee wellness program is available to help you be the best you. With a variety of programs from which to choose, our programs are available to help you get healthy and stay healthy. Incentives include $360 Health Rewards, prizes and fitness center reimbursement.

RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTIONS

401(K) AND 457 PLANS

The City of High Point offers two tax-deferred compensation savings plans for employees - a 401(k) Plan and a 457 Plan. Employees can invest savings in either plan or both plans. Pre-tax and after-tax (Roth) options are available for voluntary contributions. 401(k)/457 plans – The City of High Point will offer a 3 percent contribution to N.C. 401(k) or N.C. 457 when you contribute 1 percent and a 5 percent contribution for sworn law enforcement officers. There is no waiting period to participate in either plan. EMPLOYEE TYPE

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA)

Take advantage of tax savings by participating in a flexible spending account (FSA). You can elect to have a portion of your paycheck contributed pre-tax to pay for qualified medical expenses such as deductibles, co-payments, dental and vision. A dependent care FSA is available for tax savings on qualified dependent care expenses. Carryover up to $640 of unused funds into next plan year. Deadline of March 31 at end of plan year to submit claims.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

$5,000.00

Employee benefit is equal to 1X base annual earnings and adjusted to the next highest multiple of $1,000. Maximum - $500,000. This benefit is paid for by the City.

You may purchase supplemental coverage in the amount of $10,000 to $250,000 in increments of $10,000. Guaranteed issue amounts on employees (only when first eligible). Spouse increments of $5,000 to $100,000 (only when first eligible).

SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE RATES

UNMARRIED CHILD(REN) – Increments of $2,000 to $10,000. Age out at 20 or 26 (if registered student). Guaranteed issue amount (only when first eligible).
