New Business License Process The City of Jonesboro is currently updating and streamlining the business license process to make the activity more customer-friendly and convenient. Business owners will have a choice to renew online instead of having to come in person to City Hall to renew. All business owners will receive instructions by mail and instructions will also be available online. Business owners always have the option of visiting City Hall; we are hopeful that this new process will make the renewal easier and more expedient. We appreciate our Jonesboro business owners and want Recent wonderful opportunity to showcase the City and discuss economic to work cooperatively with them. Questions? Jonesboro On The Move— great things are happening in Clayton County! CITY COUNCIL APPROVES BUILDING PROJECT

“THE GROVE” In February, the City Council unanimously approved the developer’s agreement for The Grove, a single-family detached home community off North McDonough Street. The Grove property, 10.75 acres, is one of the last remaining, large, residential property tracts in the City, and the approval of 49 homes is the largest addition to the housing stock of the City in over 10 years. Careful attention was given to the designs, materials, and colors of the houses that will be built in The Grove, in order to maintain the level of quality for which the Jonesboro community is known. The development will also have quality streetlights, landscaping, and community greenspaces, the largest of which will have a walking trail amenity. Construction of the streets and utilities MAIN STREET DOWNTOWN was completed a few years ago, but, until now, further development was stalled For additional information, contact events@jonesboroga.com by the recession. Construction of the homes is expected to start this Spring, and the targeted price range is the low to mid $200s.

March Musings… “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” CHARLES DICKENS “March is the month God created to show people who don’t drink what a hangover feels like.” GARRISON KEILLOR “Indoors or out, no one relaxes in March, that month of wind and taxes; the wind will presently disappear, the taxes last us all the year.” OGDEN NASH
