Little Free Library at Massengale Park Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world. Through Little Free Library book exchanges, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. Mayor Joy Day recently entered a contest online to acquire a Free Little Library for the City and she won! The win also included a variety of books with which to launch our new Library. Citizens are invited to visit our Library, take a book, and if you can, leave a book that you have enjoyed. (not required) The object of the Little Free Library is to get people READING MORE! Our Library will be registered with the LFL organization on their website. This is the second Little Free Library in our City; the first was sponsored by Darryl and Pat Sebo-Hand and is located at Lee Street Elementary. Interested in sponsoring or building your own Library? Deadline: September 30, 2020 CITY SPONSORS SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVEAWAY On Sunday, August 16, the City of Jonesboro and BRIDGE of LIGHT, Inc. sponsored a DriveThru School Supply Activity at Lee St. Elementary. In addition to school supplies, students were given popsicles, books, backpacks, pizza, free haircuts, special computer glasses, and other fun items. Ensuring the City is kept in clean and attractive shape, as well as enforcing City Code requirements are the duties of Allen Hardy, Code Enforcement Officer. Mr. Hardy has worked for the City of Jonesboro since September 2019. He enjoys reading, baking, and playing drums in his spare time. Mr. Hardy is a native Georgian, and he is recently married. Thank you, Allen Hardy, for working to keep our city beautiful.

Sergeant Christopher (Chris) Cato has It’s Not Too Late been employed by the City since April to Purchase a Brick! 2013.
