Trips and tours New Theatre Restaurant - June 3 and August 19 Enjoy a buffet lunch and great show. Deadline one month prior. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; lunch at noon; show at 1:15 p.m. Fee is $40 or $45 with transportation for each date. “Hairspray” will be shown on 6/3 and “The Addams Family” on 8/19.

Trip Refund Policy

A full refund will be issued for any program that is cancelled. A full refund may be honored if your spot can be filled prior to the deadline date. Because of advance payment requirements on many of our trips, refunds may not be available. Any refund request must be made with advance notice. Please review each trip’s refund policy prior to enrollment. Trip insurance is available for purchase on overnight stays. Persons deemed harmful to themselves, others, or trip quality may be removed, with transportation home at their own expense. Lenexa Parks and Recreation reserves the right to make changes as necessary to preserve the integrity of the trip. Lenexa Parks and Recreation does not send receipts or confirmations. Please keep a record of the dates and times for the programs in which you enroll. You will be notified if there is a problem with your individual registration, or if a class has been filled, canceled or rescheduled.

Kansas Summer Surprises - June 30

See some jewels of the Sunflower State. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the newly renovated Capitol building in Topeka. More than 13 years and $30 million went into this renovation including the new Museum of Kansas History. Next, we’ll head further west for a visit to Kansas Lavender at Ingwerson Farms and enjoy lunch. Our last stop is Prairie Fire Winery. Fee includes motorcoach transportation, tours, wine tasting, lunch and staff escort. Depart from the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. Fee per person: $79, due on 5/21.

Gambling Casino Trips - July 15 and Sept. 30

Join us for a trip to Prairie Band Casino, located 30 miles north of Topeka, on July 15. The $20 fee includes 4-hour gaming session, $10 for gaming, motorcoach transportation and staff escort. Depart from the Senior Center at 8:45 a.m. and return at 4:45 p.m. Deadline is 6/25. Then make plans to join us for a trip to Downstream Casino in Quapaw, OK, located about 150 miles south of Lenexa, on Sept. 30. The $35 fee includes 4-hour gaming session and $10 for the gaming session, buffet lunch, motorcoach transportation and staff escort. Depart from the Senior Center at 8 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. Deadline 9/4.

All About Art, Bentonville AR - Sept. 16-17

If you love art, then this trip is perfect for you! This art adventure takes you to Bentonville, where we will tour the Crystal Bridges Museum, featuring a special exhibit of Andy Warhol’s nature paintings, The Museum of Native American History, The Peel Mansion of Historic Gardens, and finally, a step-on guided tour of Bentonville, which includes visiting various famous locations. Depart from the Senior Center at 7 a.m. 9/16 and return at 7:45 p.m. 9/17. Registration deadline 7/16. Fee is $264/person (double), $327 (single), $252 (triple), and $247 (quad). $50 due upon registration; final payment due 8/17. Fee is all inclusive.

Celebrate the birthplace of American popular song with music by Berlin, the Gershwins and other immigrants who founded our Musical Melting Pot. We will have lunch at the Webster House Restaurant & Antiques (your own cost) prior to the show. Fee is $26 and includes show ticket, van transportation and staff escort. Group departs from the Senior Center at 10:30 a.m.; lunch is at 11 a.m.; show is at 1 p.m.; return to Senior Center at 3:30 p.m. Deadline 8/28. Join your friends on a fun-filled trip to mid-Missouri. Highlights include visiting the Anheuser Busch Clydesdales at Warm Springs Ranch, Hospitality Barn for soft drinks or samples of the company’s brews, lunch at the Blufftop Bistro, just outside Boonville, MO. Travel by Amtrak railways to beautiful Hermann, Mo. Enjoy wine tasting and tour at 5 area wineries, one distillery and lunch at Cowen’s and Stone Hill Winery. Visit the Astral Glass Blowing Studio & Gallery. We will spend the night in Washington at the Old Dutch Hotel, Brick House, or the Debourge House B&B, and then enjoy a delightful sunset dinner (your own cost) on the riverfront. We will visit the Gary Lucy Art Gallery and spend time shopping in downtown Washington. Fee includes Amtrak and motorcoach transportation, 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, 1 box dinner, overnight stay, all tours and tastings, gallery admissions, a wine steward and a staff person. Senior Men’s Basketball CC

If you’ve never been 650 feet underground before, now’s the time for a trip “down-under” Kansas style. Our journey begins with a tram tour of the underground salt mines (68 degrees year round). Also visit Stutzman’s Green House and the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Museum (including Dr. Goddard’s lab and Planetarium show). Then visit Yoder, KS for lunch at Carriage Crossing with delicious family-style fried chicken plus all the fixin’s, followed by shopping at local Mennonite shops. Depart from the Senior Center at 7:30 a.m. 10/21 and return at 7 p.m. 10/22. Registration deadline 8/20. Final payment due 9/10.
