DIRECTOR’S NOTE

As the director of Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, I am thrilled to offer a wide range of recreational classes, activities and events for people of all ages and abilities We have over 2,060 acres of park land, including 209 parks with unique playgrounds, first-class athletic fields, 9 aquatic centers, splash pads, trails, 6 recreation centers, the Mesa Convention Center, Amphitheatre, The POST, Dobson Ranch Golf Course, a cemetery, and 2 spring training baseball stadiums! Our refreshed PLAYBOOK magazine is published seasonally and contains information about the classes, activities, and special events produced by the Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department. We offer hundreds of programs and classes including adult sports, youth sports, adaptive programs, tennis lessons and leagues, pickleball lessons, water exercise, swim lessons, school break camps, enrichment classes such as STEM, Danger Scouts, yoga, martial arts, and more! We also offer a Mesa Recreation Scholarship which provides fee assistance to eligible residents Come find your next “play” to run this season in our new PLAYBOOK!

M O R E (Mesa Outdoor Recreation Experience) provides a mobile outdoor educational experience to City of Mesa residents within our parks, trails, and natural spaces, creating opportunities for every Mesa resident to explore, play, and thrive outdoors by bringing dynamic, barrier-free recreation and educational experiences to neighborhoods across the city.

FUN ‘N’ FITNESS

Our programming centers on health & wellness, conservation, culture, and learning activities. We have regular programming like group fitness classes, arts & crafts, and movie nights plus a dynamic schedule filled with unique experiences.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Summer is just on the horizon and there are events of all kinds occurring throughout the community. Everyone can find something to love in the City of Mesa. Enjoy festivals like the Arizona Celebration of Freedom during 4th of July, concerts, cultural celebrations, movies in the park, food trucks, farmer's markets, and signature events like our Dive-In Movies and Pachanga en la Piscina.
